Soft pita bread that is hollow on the inside, and can be stuffed with whatever your heart desires!
Ing:
3 cups white all purpose flour
11/2 tsp yeast
depending on how cold it is you can add
1 sugar to the yeast in
1 cup water
salt to taste
1 egg
7 tbsp oil
Method:
Sift your flour in the container you are going to knead your dough next add salt, egg, and olive oil, mix it really well, now slowly start adding the water and yeast mixture this should make a sticky dough, keep kneading for about 3 min and you should have a nice soft dough. Let the dough rise till it has doubled in size, then make small individual balls and roll them out to about 5 to 6 in in diameter. You will need some extra flour for dusting while you roll the pitas. Start laying them on a floured surface to prevent them from sticking, start cooking the rotis with the first one you had rolled out that way it will give it some time to rise a little, in a med hot pan put the rotis one by one on the frying pan, flip only twice, you can add a little olive oil to prevent it from drying out!

This is a story of a remote Hindu village that came under the barbaric attack perpetrated by a section of Pakistani occupying army during the liberation war in Bangladesh in 1971. The story spans over only two days.
Since no one in that remote village of Chhoyani has a Radio, they are not aware of the heinous genocide in the capital city, Dhaka, or the subsequent declaration of independence. On day one in this story, on the basis of some rumour about a possible onslaught by the Pakistani military, a Hindu senior calls for a meeting in his house. In the other side of the village, the Jamadar, who would not allow division of Pakistan and the independence of Bangladesh, meets with his goons to hatch an evil conspiracy to eliminate the Hindus.

Die Pita ist ja eins der Lieblingsspeisen auf dem Balkan. Es ist für den der sie macht eine große Herausforderung, vor allem den Teig so dünn und leicht hinzubekommen. Deshalb nicht wundern wenn es bei dem einen oder anderen nicht so auf anhieb gelingt. Pita gibt es in vielen verschiedenen Formen und Arten, ich hab sie mal mit Käse gefüllt. Alternativ kann man sie mit Hackfleisch oder Spinat, Hähnchen, Kirschen, Äpfel uvm. füllen. Man kann eigentlich fast alles vom Obst oder Gemüse bis hin zu Pudding nehmen.
Zutatenliste:
Teig:
ca.600 ml lauwarmes Wasser
schuss Sonnenblumenöl
1 Kg Mehl + 100gr. Mehl
eine gute prise Salz
Füllung:
200 ml Schmand / Sauerrahm oder Topfen(Quark)
200 ml Frischkäse (körnig)
250 gr Schafskäse
3 Eier
schuss Öl

*****Ingredients*****
1.5 cups of plain flour,
1.5 cups of whole wheat,
2.25 tsp instant yeast,
1.5 tsp salt,
1 tsp sugar.
5-6 tbsp of olive oil,
2/3rd cup warm water or as needed.
*****Method*******
Mix the dry ingredients then add the olive oil into the warm water. Add the olive oil-water mix by little amount at a time to the flour mix while mixing the dough to soften it. Dust flour on the counter to mix the dough well, you can use some olive oil on your hand. Let it raise for 30 mins. Roll and bake 4-6 mins or till done on 425F.

Świeża, własnej roboty, z kieszonką w środku… Domowa pita. Banalnie prosta, a idealna do kanapek z rozmaitymi farszami czy nadzieniami, ale także do past, sosów czy humusu. Wystarczy odciąć kawałek, otworzyć kieszonkę i do środka włożyć dowolny farsz (mięso, ryba, warzywa, mieszanka sałat czy ciemnozielonych liści). Albo po prostu potraktować pity jak płaskie chlebki, którymi są, odrywać kawałki na jeden kęs i nabierać nimi pastę, farsze czy sosy (np. humus czy curry). Świetny pomysł na obiad czy kolację i to nawet szybki, jeśli upieczemy pity wcześniej (np. w weekend), bo potem zostanie tylko przygotowanie farszu lub sosu/pasty. No i taki farsz do pity to także fajny sposób na smaczne wymiecenie resztek z lodówki;)

Pita or pitta (
/ˈpɪtə/ PI-tə) is a round pocket bread widely consumed in many Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, and Balkan cuisines. It is prevalent in Greece, the Balkans, the Levant, the Arabian Peninsula, Turkey, and parts of the Indian subcontinent. The "pocket" in pita bread is created by steam, which puffs up the dough. As the bread cools and flattens, a pocket is left in the middle.
Pita is a slightly leavened wheat bread, flat, either round or oval, and variable in size. Its history extends far into antiquity, since flatbreads in general, whether leavened or not, are among the most ancient breads, requiring no oven or utensils to make. The first evidence of flat breads occurs in and around Amorite Damascus.[citation needed]
The term used for the bread in English is a loanword from Greek, pita (πίτα), probably derived from the Ancient Greek pēktos (πηκτός), meaning "solid" or "clotted". In the Arabic world flatbreads such as pita are called khubz (ordinary bread). The tenth-century Arab cookery book, Kitab al-Tabikh by ibn Sayyar al-Warraq, includes six recipes for khubz, all baked in a tannur oven.

Add the olive oil-water mix by little amount at a time to the flour mix while mixing the dough to soften it. Dust flour on the counter to mix the dough well, you can use some olive oil on your hand. Let it raise for 30 mins. Roll and bake 4-6 mins or till done on 425F. -

Ing: 3 cups white all purpose flour 11/2 tsp yeast depending on how cold it is you can add 1 sugar to the yeast in 1 cup water salt to taste 1 egg 7 tbsp oil Method: Sift your flour in the container you are going to knead your dough next add salt, egg, and olive oil, mix it really well, now slowly start adding the water and yeast mixture this should make a sticky dough, keep kneading for about 3 min and you should have a nice soft dough. Let the dough rise till it has doubled in size, then make small individual balls and roll them out to about 5 to 6 in in diameter. You will need some extra flour for dusting while you roll the pitas. This is a story of a remote Hindu village that came under the barbaric attack perpetrated by a section of Pakistani occupying army during the liberation war in Bangladesh in 1971. The story spans over only two days.
Since no one in that remote village of Chhoyani has a Radio, they are not aware of the heinous genocide in the capital city, Dhaka, or the subsequent declaration of independence. On day one in this story, on the basis of some rumour about a possible onslaught by the Pakistani military, a Hindu senior calls for a meeting in his house. In the other side of the village, the Jamadar, who would not allow division of Pakistan and the independence of Bangladesh, meets with his goons to hatch an evil conspiracy to eliminate the Hindus.

Die Pita ist ja eins der Lieblingsspeisen auf dem Balkan. Es ist für den der sie macht eine große Herausforderung, vor allem den Teig so dünn und leicht hinzubekommen. Deshalb nicht wundern wenn es bei dem einen oder anderen nicht so auf anhieb gelingt. Pita gibt es in vielen verschiedenen Formen und Arten, ich hab sie mal mit Käse gefüllt. Alternativ kann man sie mit Hackfleisch oder Spinat, Hähnchen, Kirschen, Äpfel uvm. füllen. Man kann eigentlich fast alles vom Obst oder Gemüse bis hin zu Pudding nehmen.
Zutatenliste:
Teig:
ca.600 ml lauwarmes Wasser
schuss Sonnenblumenöl
1 Kg Mehl + 100gr. Mehl
eine gute prise Salz
Füllung:
200 ml Schmand / Sauerrahm oder Topfen(Quark)

5-6 tbsp of olive oil,
2/3rd cup warm water or as needed.

Mix the dry ingredients then add the olive oil into the warm water. Add the olive oil-water mix by little amount at a time to the flour mix while mixing the dough to soften it. Dust flour on the counter to mix the dough well, you can use some olive oil on your hand. Let it raise for 30 mins. Roll and bake 4-6 mins or till done on 425F.

Wystarczy odciąć kawałek, otworzyć kieszonkę i do środka włożyć dowolny farsz (mięso, ryba, warzywa, mieszanka sałat czy ciemnozielonych liści). Albo po prostu potraktować pity jak płaskie chlebki, którymi są, odrywać kawałki na jeden kęs i nabierać nimi pastę, farsze czy sosy (np. humus czy curry). Świetny pomysł na obiad czy kolację i to nawet szybki, jeśli upieczemy pity wcześniej (np. w weekend), bo potem zostanie tylko przygotowanie farszu lub sosu/pasty. No i taki farsz do pity to także fajny sposób na smaczne wymiecenie resztek z lodówki;)
