Final words
The Swimmer is so small, it really has an impressive sound. We loved using the Swimmer in so many places: having a shower, while cooking in the kitchen, in the bicycle cycling in the park, swimming pool, on the beach
... no problem! This wireless speaker is so light and small you can take anywhere - even water! It is not simply ‘water resistant’, the BOOM Swimmer is 1 meter deep waterproof (IPX7 using its tail) but Bluetooth connection will probably drop... physics. I consider the Swimmer the safest "Bluetooth Shower Speaker" available.

This was the first time I saw the
point in buying a small portable bluetooth speaker: the waterproof thing/ shower / easy to hang. I frequently use headphones/earbuds (when I am on a public space) or play loud music on the
Home Theater (coming from the
Mac’s iTunes library, using an AirPort express/AirPlay). But my wife watches a lot of YouTube videos from her iPhone while she cooks - and the sheer volume of the iPhone speaker can’t compete with other kitchen sounds
. In the kitchen it makes a lot of sense: small, no wires, wet hands or water accidents are not a problem. And listening to music in the shower is an experience apart (don’t say “duh, yeah!” - I did it very few times, ha ha, so it is still a big deal).
This is not a sponsored review. I bought the speaker and did the review on my own.
Bottom line: I like it a lot.
Recently I listened to several Bluetooth Speakers in stores - and of course you can find lots of options with deeper and louder sound, but they are much heavier, bigger and cost a
LOT more.
The Boom Swimmer has nothing to do with “sound-systems”/stereo/living-room… But it is perfect for what
I’ve shown in the video.
