Plot: Six months after the events depicted in The Matrix, Neo has proved to be a good omen for the free humans, as more and more humans are being freed from the matrix and brought to Zion, the one and only stronghold of the Resistance. Neo himself has discovered his superpowers including super speed, ability to see the codes of the things inside the matrix, and a certain degree of precognition. But a nasty piece of news hits the human resistance: 250,000 machine sentinels are digging to Zion and would reach them in 72 hours. As Zion prepares for the ultimate war, Neo, Morpheus and Trinity are advised by the Oracle to find the Keymaker who would help them reach the Source. Meanwhile Neo's recurrent dreams depicting Trinity's death have got him worried and as if it was not enough, Agent Smith has somehow escaped deletion, has become more powerful than before and has chosen Neo as his next target.

Quotes:
Neo: What happens if I fail?::The Oracle: Then Zion will fall.
Agent Thompson: You.::Agent Smith: Yes, me.::[turns Thompson into another Smith]::Agent Smith: Me... me... me...::Agent Smith Clone: Me too.
Zee: I lost two brothers to that ship, Link. Afraid of it. Afraid it's gonna take you too.::Link: It won't.::Zee: How can you say that to me?::Link: Because of Morpheus, because of what he's told me. He said that this is it. That it will be over soon.::Zee: Link, Morpheus is crazy.::Link: No doubt, but Tank and Dozer believed him, and I'll tell you what - soon after being on that ship and seeing Neo do the things he can do, I gotta say - I'm starting to believe him too. [he embraces Zee]::Zee: Be careful, Link. [hugs him back as he kisses her cheek] Please be careful.
Neo: Why don't you tell me what's on your mind, Councillor?::Councillor Harmann: There is so much in this world that I do not understand. See that machine? It has something to do with recycling our water supply. I have absolutely no idea how it works. But I do understand the reason for it to work. I have absolutely no idea how you are able to do some of the things you do, but I believe there's a reason for that as well. I only hope we understand that reason before it's too late.
Trinity: You always told me to stay off the freeway.::Morpheus: Yes, that's true.::Trinity: You said it was suicide.::Morpheus: Then let us hope that I was wrong.
Neo: Trinity. I know you can hear me. I'm never letting go. I can't. I just love you too damn much.
Commander Lock: Dammit, Morpheus. Not everyone believes what you believe.::Morpheus: My beliefs do not require them to.
Councillor Harmann: Down here, sometimes I think about all those people still plugged into the Matrix and when I look at these machines I... I can't help thinking that in a way... we are plugged into them.::Neo: But we control these machines; they don't control us.::Councillor Harmann: Of course not. How could they? The idea is pure nonsense. But... it does make one wonder... just... what is control?::Neo: If we wanted, we could shut these machines down.::Councillor Harmann: [Of] course. That's it. You hit it. That's control, isn't it? If we wanted we could smash them to bits. Although, if we did, we'd have to consider what would happen to our lights, our heat, our air...::Neo: So we need machines and they need us, is that your point, Councilor?::Councillor Harmann: No. No point. Old men like me don't bother with making points. There's no point.::Neo: Is that why there are no young men on the council?::Councillor Harmann: Good point.
Trinity: They need you.::Neo: I need YOU.
Commander Lock: I believe I'm going to need every ship we have if we're going to survive this attack.::Councillor Harmann: I understand that, Commander.::Commander Lock: Then why did you allow the Nebuchadnezzer to leave?::Councillor Harmann: Because *I* believe our survival depends on more than how many *ships* we have.

Quotes:
Neo: Carrie, I have to tell you something about the Matrix.::Carrie Bradshaw: Oh! I threw up in the Matrix didn't I?::Neo: No, no, no, you threw up in the real world. The Matrix is a system created by robots. It's like the real world but it isn't real. The Matrix is real but it's like the real world that isn't real. At least that's what the robots want us to think. But I don't think the robots are real. Wait... Robots, which are real, but they told you it's fake, they know it's real... The numbers are... Wait. [frustrated] I should've written this down.::Carrie Bradshaw: [raises one eyebrow, narrates] Something told me it wasn't the first time he was confused.
Carrie Bradshaw: Oh, like you two have never woken up covered in goo.
Neo: This is where you belong, Carrie! Here, in the real world.::Carrie Bradshaw: Neo, your apartment has no natural light. I'm wearing a freakin' potato sack, and I've got an outlet in the back of my head!::Carrie Bradshaw: Screw the real world, give me the Matrix!
Neo: I'm Neo!::Carrie Bradshaw: [narrates] There he was: cute, cocky, and awfully flexible.
Morpheus: I am Morpheus.::Carrie Bradshaw: [mimicking him, amused] I am Carrie.
Samantha Jones: Shh! Get back to the part about the big black man.

Plot: Thomas A. Anderson is a man living two lives. By day he is an average computer programmer and by night a hacker known as Neo. Neo has always questioned his reality, but the truth is far beyond his imagination. Neo finds himself targeted by the police when he is contacted by Morpheus, a legendary computer hacker branded a terrorist by the government. Morpheus awakens Neo to the real world, a ravaged wasteland where most of humanity have been captured by a race of machines that live off of the humans' body heat and electrochemical energy and who imprison their minds within an artificial reality known as the Matrix. As a rebel against the machines, Neo must return to the Matrix and confront the agents: super-powerful computer programs devoted to snuffing out Neo and the entire human rebellion.

Quotes:
Trinity: I know why you're here, Neo. I know what you've been doing... why you hardly sleep, why you live alone, and why night after night, you sit by your computer. You're looking for him. I know because I was once looking for the same thing. And when he found me, he told me I wasn't really looking for him. I was looking for an answer. It's the question that drives us, Neo. It's the question that brought you here. You know the question, just as I did.::Neo: What is the Matrix?::Trinity: The answer is out there, Neo, and it's looking for you, and it will find you if you want it to.
Agent Brown: What were you doing?::Agent Jones: He doesn't know.
[Neo sees a black cat walk by them, and then a similar black cat walk by them just like the first one]::Neo: Whoa. Déjà vu.::[Everyone freezes right in their tracks]::Trinity: What did you just say?::Neo: Nothing. Just had a little déjà vu.::Trinity: What did you see?::Cypher: What happened?::Neo: A black cat went past us, and then another that looked just like it.::Trinity: How much like it? Was it the same cat?::Neo: It might have been. I'm not sure.::Morpheus: Switch! Apoc!::Neo: What is it?::Trinity: A déjà vu is usually a glitch in the Matrix. It happens when they change something.
[on the war that devastated the Real World]::Morpheus: We don't know who struck first, us or them. But we do know it was us that scorched the sky. At the time, they were dependent on solar power. It was believed they would be unable to survive without an energy source as abundant as the sun.
Agent Brown: Perhaps we are asking the wrong questions.
Morpheus: What is real? How do you define 'real'? If you're talking about what you can feel, what you can smell, what you can taste and see, then 'real' is simply electrical signals interpreted by your brain.
Morpheus: What are you waiting for? You're faster than this. Don't think you are, know you are. Come on. Stop trying to hit me and hit me.
Neo: I thought it wasn't real::Morpheus: Your mind makes it real::Neo: If you're killed in the matrix, you die here?::Morpheus: The body cannot live without the mind
Morpheus: Unfortunately, no one can be told what the Matrix is. You have to see it for yourself.
Agent Brown: She got out.::Agent Smith: Doesn't matter.::Agent Brown: The informant is real.::Agent Smith: Yes.::Agent Jones: We have the name of their next target.::Agent Brown: The name is Neo.::Agent Smith: We'll need a search running.::Agent Jones: It has already begun.
