B Adventure, Travel Series: Philippines 2015. Season 2, Episode 1. Guide, tips, and advice. Hanging out in Makati Manila, popular CBD and tourist area. The Fort Strip Taguig City, Manila, is the popular nightlife district with plenty of nightclubs, lounges, and restaurants. More detailed info and links below.
The Clipper Hotel, Makati Manila.

Cruising around Makati Manila.
Buddha-Bar, Makati Manila.
Taguig City, Manila. Also called The Fort, Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Bonifacio High Street. There was a food festival market, dog show, and live band that night.
Travel Tips:
Everyone spoke English and generally very friendly.
Its important to have photo ID for flights, hotels, and if police ask.
Its common for taxi drivers in Manila and every other city to try rip you off, or overcharge foreigners. Ask them nicely to put the meter on, or negotiate the price from the start. Ask locals what it costs to your location. If you are not comfortable, don't use that taxi. Don't be afraid to move on and find another taxi!
Shopping mall culture, locals love the mall for the aircon and to get out of the heat.
Locals often inflate prices for foreigners and tourists. Haggle and negotiate nicely. Be tough, but be respectful and polite. Shop around, you can often get a better price. Ask around about local fair pricing for things you want to do.
"Tip" can also mean bribe, so don't be afraid to ask what you're paying for upfront. Locals often do things to try help you, but then expect a tip.
The average basic worker earns PHP200 - 300 a day. So tipping PHP 20 - 50 is fine.

A brief documentary about Manila, the capital city of the Philippines. Every year, more than 5.5 million tourists take their vacations in the Philippines, and often Manila is their very first stop.
Nearly 16 million people live in the Metro Manila area, which is made up of many smaller cities, including Makati, Pasay, Pasig, Paranaque, Mandaluyong, Quezon City, and more.
Manila is where big business takes place, where major investments are made, and where residential and commercial real estate is never-ending. Many tourists enjoy the malls, the restaurants, the museums, the nightlife, and even the beautiful Manila Bay. Probably, the biggest tourist attraction is the SM Mall of Asia - the 3rd largest mall in the world.

Take a tour of the medieval fortified city.
Intramuros, in Philippine colonial history, was the original Manila. The Spaniards first landed here in 1571 and conquered this area, that was once a center of trade for Asian goods. It will take you an entire day, or longer, to discover Intramuros.
Intramuros, which means inside the walls, used to be the political, cultural and commercial center of the Spaniards in the East. To ward off invaders, the Spaniards built the wall to protect the area. Intramuros housed Fort Santiago, the headquarters for colonizers from the Spaniards, the Americas, the Japanese, until the Philippine Independence in 1946.
The Philippine national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal, was incarcerated in Fort Santiago. And in his prison cell he wrote his famous poem, Mi último Adiós, before being executed by musketry. Shelling in 1945 destroyed the city beyond recognition. However, bit by bit, Intramuros was reconstructed and has recaptured its historic past. This is Baluarte de San Diego, the oldest fortification in Intramuros. Now it is favorite spot among students and visitors.
There are several schools inside Intramuros, including Letran, which was established in 1620. The present Manila Cathedral, built in 1954, resembled the old design and captured the beauty of the old churches in Intramuros. The Palcio del gobernador actually sits in the original spot of the old Spanish government building. Although modernization is inevitable, Intramuros is one of the best places to witness Manila's past. I am Roselyn Cantos, showing you Manila.

Ho Chi Minh City
Ho Chi Minh City, on the southern tip of Vietnam, is one of South East Asia’s emerging boom cities. Still affectionately known by many as Saigon, this is Vietnam’s largest city and its economic engine room.
Ho Chi Minh City has an irrepressible soul and an entrepreneurial energy that hums day and night. Despite almost a century of colonialism and brutal conflict, today this city is renowned for its warm hospitality, which even extends to former foes. A youthful enthusiasm flows through this city, just like the stream of scooters, motorbikes and cars that flow endlessly through its chaotic streets.
In Ho Chi Minh City, it feels as though the future has arrived… and yet the past is never far away. Wide boulevards built during the French colonial era are lined with cutting edge skyscrapers, while jasmine scented temples gently rub shoulders with chic rooftop bars
More than 9 million people call Ho Chi Minh City home and the dynamic energy of its streets is part of its charm. The city is divided into a series of numbered districts and District One is where almost all of the city’s main attractions can be found.
As the sun goes down, find yourself a seat at one of Ho Chi Minh City’s famous rooftop bars, a perfect way to soak up the buzz of the city.
Dynamic, chaotic and energizing. Ho Chi Minh city may have burst onto the world stage as a battle zone but today, there is no better destination to plug in to the pulse of 21st century Asia.

How to behave in social situations in Manila.
Here are a few customs and etiquette to be aware of during your visit to the Phillipines. Filipinos value honor. The concept of hiya or shame requires one to behave in a manner that will not shame the person or the family. Handshake is common when meeting someone. If elders are present, acknowledge them first. Address people formally indicating their profession or using their last names. In discussions Filipinos tend to be non-confrontational. People will not directly say no.
In making appointments, Filipinos tend to be more forgiving. If you arrive 15 to 20 minutes late, unless you are attending a business function. If you ever receive a gift, open it afterwards, not in front of the person who gave it to you. When it comes to tipping, 10 percent of the bill is typical in most situations, unless it is already included. In that case you can give a small change. Most of all, Filipinos try their best to be hospitable. When visiting their homes you may be invited to a meal even if it was not planned. I am Roselyn Cantos showing you metro Manila.

Learn how to ride the local train and other transportation options in Manila.
You do not need to rent a car when going around MetroManila because there is a lot of transport. You can take the bus, taxi, jeepney, train, or even a horse carriage. I am going to the city of Manila, so I am taking the LRT, which is my fastest transport option.
There are two elevated railway systems in MetroManila, the MIT and the LRT. The LRT travels in a single line and passes through the city of Manila, so you will not have any problems getting to your destinations. Another option is the MIT. It passes through Makati, Mandaluyong, San Juan, and Quezon City. I am going to Central Station, and I am buying my ticket. I am waiting for the train, which arrives in fifteen-minute intervals. Here is the train now.
Be sure to have your ticket with you at all times; otherwise, you will not get out of the station. You do not have to call by telephone to get a taxi because they are practically everywhere. When riding a taxi, make sure the meter is on and working. Colorful jeepneys ply through most places and are good for short distances. For a taste of local color, try riding the kalesas, which are available in some old neighborhoods in Manila. That was a great ride! I am Roselyn Cantos, showing you Manila.

I am at McCarthy Avenue at the heart of a huge business district in metro Manilla. This is where Ayala Museum is located, a private collection that provides a glimpse of Philippine art and history. The museum opened in 1974 and was the brainchild of artist Fernando Zobel. I am here with Ms. Nita Samson, a curator at the Ayala Museum.
Ms. Samson, what is unique about this museum? What makes Ayala Museum unique is that it is both a history and an art museum. Our historical dioramas and boat gallery are proven crowd drawers.
The main attraction here is a diorama of Philippine history created by artists from Paete, Laguna. Another popular attraction is the boat gallery that showcases maritime trade and colonial economy. As we go up the third and fourth levels, pioneers of Philippine art Juan Luna, Fernando Amorsolo, and Fernando Zobel are showcased.
You can buy souvenirs here at the museum shop and every purchase you make helps support the educational programs of the museum. When you visit here, allot two hours to explore the whole museum. The Ayala Museum is a quick way to learn about Philippine culture. I am Rosalyn Cantos showing you metro Manilla.

Welcome to Tokyo, the capital of Japan and the epitome of the word “megacity.”
In this vast metropolis, ancient traditions blend with futuristic buildings, and your Tokyo sightseeing will take you to representations of each. Pay your respects at temples set in forested hillsides, then flex your credit card in one of the shopping districts, before sitting down to a five-star meal…all in one day.
Your Tokyo tour begins with the subway and train system, which will take you all over this sprawling city. Tokyo is home to some 35 million people, many of which you’ll meet as its public transit carries you throughout its many neighborhoods. Make a stop in Asakusa, a temple district nestled in leafy trees with skyscrapers towering in the background. There you’ll visit Nakamisi Dori, a street loaded with food vendors and religious charms. Get to know the city a little better in the Harajuku district, home to cutting-edge fashion, a thriving, youth-centered culture, and the famous Yoyogi Park. The park stands out in stern contrast to the rest of the neighborhood; this sprawling, 134-acre green space is where locals slow down after a frenzied week of work and play.
As night falls, make your way to Shinjuku. Many of Tokyo’s premier restaurants and pubs span Shinjuku’s streets, and you can indulge in succulent 5-star meals or sample with fast food from local vendors. Watch a movie, do some karaoke, and linger with fellow travelers and friendly locals alike.

Bali, located between the islands of Java and Lombok, is ready to welcome you.
The southern part of the island is a dream for anyone who loves the ocean; it is full of breathtaking beaches and top surfing spots. Visit Kuta, a one-time fishing village turned mecca for restaurants, shopping, and culture. Put on your flip-flops and head north to tranquil Seminyak, where you can grab a bite to eat before exploring the beautiful Petitenget Temple, a fascinating space originally built to ward off mischievous local spirits.
Any Bali sightseeing should include Ubud, the cultural capital of the island. Walk through stalls and galleries spotlighting the work of local artisans. You can also make friends with the varied wildlife at Bali Bird Bark, which houses over 1,000 birds from all over the world, or the Sacred Monkey Forest, home to the Balinese long-tailed macaque.
Whether you’re exploring Bali as a backpacker or have rented a scooter to get around, this enchanting island paradise awaits you.

https://www.expedia.com/Seoul.d178308.Destination-Travel-Guides
Watch our video highlighting some of the best things to do in Seoul, but beware—it just might cause you to start planning your next Korean vacation!
Join us in Seoul, the capital of South Korea. This intriguing destination boasts an innovative, forward-thinking culture, but it’s also steeped in history. While traveling around this northwestern city, you’ll come across massive shopping complexes just on the outskirts of ancient temples and palaces.
Take a trip back in time at the Changdeokgung Palace, which was built in 1405 as one of the Five Grand Palaces established by the Joseon Dynasty. Though all the city’s palaces were burned down during the 1592 Japanese invasion, Changdeokgung was the first to be reconstructed. Venture around Injeongjeon, the throne hall, and step across the Geumcheongyo Bridge, which is considered one of the city’s oldest bridges. Deoksugung is another one of the Five Grand Palaces, and it’s unique in that it incorporates a Western-style garden. Don’t miss the other royal grounds, including Changgyeonggung Palace, Gyeongbokgung Palace, and Unhyeongung Palace.
If you’re really looking to get a sense of the more modern, Seoul tourism scene, prepare to shop ’til you drop! This city takes shopping seriously, as you can find stores and markets scattered all around town. COEX Mall is Korea’s largest underground shopping mall, while Namdaemun Market features hundreds of vendors selling almost anything you can imagine, from kimchi to kitchenware. In the mood for some late-night shopping? Discover some of the best finds in fashion at Dongdaemun Market, which is open all through the night, closing around 7 a.m.
Continue your Seoul city tour by making your way to the theaters to witness some marvelous performances. These theaters know how to put on a show–Korean martial artists, dazzling dancers, and talented musicians take the stage at the Korea House, Jeongdong Theater, and Seoul Arts Center. Next, visit the Gyeongbokgung Palace to catch the opening and closing of the royal palace gates and the royal guard changing, or check out the Bosingak daily bell-ringing ceremony.
Whether you decide to join guided Seoul tours or prefer to venture around the Korean destination on your own terms, you won’t be disappointed. From royal grounds to theater productions, the entertainment is endless. Press play on our travel guide video to get inspiration for your next trip to South Korea.
