The term caliphate, "dominion of a caliph ('successor')" (from the Arabic خلافة or khilāfa, Turkish: Hilafet), refers to the first system of government established in Islam and represented the leaders unity of the Muslim Ummah (community)[clarification needed]. In theory, it is an aristocratic–constitutional republic (the Constitution being the Constitution of Medina), which means that the head of state, the Caliph, and other officials are representatives of the people and of Islam and must govern according to constitutional and religious law, or Sharia. In its early days, it resembled elements of direct democracy (see shura) and an elective monarchy.
It was initially led by Muhammad's disciples as a continuation of the leaders and religious system the prophet established, known as the 'Rashidun caliphates'. A "caliphate" is also a state which implements such a governmental system.
Sunni Islam stipulates that the head of state, the caliph, should be selected by Shura – elected by Muslims or their representatives. Followers of Shia Islam believe the caliph should be an imam chosen by God from the Ahl al-Bayt (Muhammad's purified progeny). After the Rashidun period until 1924, caliphates, sometimes two at a single time, real and illusory, were ruled by dynasties. The first dynasty was the Umayyad. This was followed by the Abbasid, the Fatimid (not recognized by others outside Fatimid domain), and finally the Ottoman Dynasty.
Christopher Eric Hitchens (13 April 1949 – 15 December 2011) was an English American author and journalist whose career spanned more than four decades. Hitchens, often referred to colloquially as "Hitch", was a columnist and literary critic for New Statesman, The Atlantic, The Nation, The Daily Mirror, The Times Literary Supplement and Vanity Fair. He was an author of twelve books and five collections of essays. As a staple of talk shows and lecture circuits, he was a prominent public intellectual, and his confrontational style of debate made him both a lauded and controversial figure.
Hitchens was known for his admiration of George Orwell, Thomas Paine and Thomas Jefferson, as well as for his excoriating critiques of various public figures including Mother Teresa, Bill Clinton, Henry Kissinger and Diana, Princess of Wales. Although he supported the Falklands War, his key split from the established political left began in 1989 after what he called the "tepid reaction" of the Western left to the Rushdie Affair. The September 11 attacks strengthened his internationalist embrace of an interventionist foreign policy, and his vociferous criticism of what he called "fascism with an Islamic face." His numerous editorials in support of the Iraq War caused some to label him a neoconservative, although Hitchens insisted he was not "a conservative of any kind", and his friend Ian McEwan describes him as representing the anti-totalitarian left.

This is no time to fuck up
Scooting around the linoleum
On all fours, what for again?
Better yourself for somebody else
This is no time to wrestle
You're gonna burst a blood vessel
What for again?
We could be falling in love, like nobody else
Tonight your dream is safe with me
Tomorrow we wake up in l.a.
This is no time to make love
Rolling around the linoleum
We fall and we'll fall again
Better yourself than somebody else
Walking out on clay feet
Walking out the long way
What are you gonna say?
What the hell are you gonna say?
Tonight your secret's safe with me
Tomorrow we wake up in l.a.
Such a lovely dream
Cross my heart and cross my eyes
Stick a needle in my thigh
Drop kick my unscrewed lid
And fiddle fiddle fiddle fiddle fiddle with what's inside
A rusty mass of machinations
Still I'm vying for the right vaccination
I make a masterful selection like Louis Pasteur
Certain I've found at least a temporary cure
If there's one thing I've learned in this chemical world
It's very very very very very little is pure
My gluefoot sticks, I wrestle with it
I try to skedaddle but my gluefoot is fixed
If they'd give me a shovel in this communication age
Maybe I'd have kept my mouth shut and done something today
I want to blame democracy and it's inherent lies
I want to blame my heritage for my leisurely demise
Everybody wants to wear the cleats
Everybody wants to be Dominique
I want to be someone separate from me
I want to have a sustained feeling
My gluefoot sticks, I wrestle with it
Forget about your ex he wasn't good enough
Only when he called is when the spot got rough
Girl I need to know if I qualify
You can call my ex just to verify
Forget about your ex she wasn't down for you
You know I got your back 'cause I'm feelin' you
Tell you right now I qualify
Come at me for real, all games aside
Baby just relax, see you don't have to ask, I got niggas flippin' packs
I'll give you finer things, like carats in your ring
I'll take you to the lot, which one you want to cop, the seven or the drop
Just tell me what you need , it ain't about the G's
See money ain't the thing, it ain't about the rings
And those artificial things 'cause all it really brings, is a lot of pain.
What I need is trust, a little bit of lust, so that every time we touch
I feel it in your kiss nothing means more than this
Forget about your ex he wasn't good enough
Only when he called is when the spot got rough
Girl I need to know if I qualify
You can call my ex just to verify
Forget about your ex she wasn't down for you
You know I got your back 'cause I'm feelin' you
Tell you right now I qualify
Come at me for real, all games aside
Forget about your ex he wasn't good enough
Only when he called is when the spot got rough
Girl I need to know if I qualify
You can call my ex just to verify
Forget about your ex she wasn't down for you
You know I got your back 'cause I'm feelin' you
Tell you right now I qualify
Come at me for real, all games aside
I heard about your ex, and how she used to flex
With the platinum on her neck, how you put her in a Lex
Refusing her beggots, I know what she needs
How you couldn't believe she was with another kid
All up in the club, blowing up the spot, all up in the Marriott What?
Anyone could tell, she took me through some hell
Wouldn't even post bail, having you around, I think I finally found
A lover I can feel, someone to keep it real, so baby let's chill
Just let me know you care, we can take it there
Forget about your ex he wasn't good enough
Only when he called is when the spot got rough
Girl I need to know if I qualify
You can call my ex just to verify
Forget about your ex she wasn't down for you
You know I got your back 'cause I'm feelin' you
Tell you right now I qualify
Cause I got all the love you need
Forget about your ex he wasn't good enough
Only when he called is when the spot got rough
Girl I need to know if I qualify
You can call my ex just to verify
Forget about your ex she wasn't down for you
You know I got your back 'cause I'm feelin' you
Tell you right now I qualify
Come at me for real, all games aside
Can you qualify
Come and love me right
Stay with me tonight
Could you be the one for me?
Can you qualify
Come and love me right
Stay with me tonight
Could you be the one for me?
Can you qualify
Come and love me right
Stay with me tonight
Could you be the one for me?
Can you qualify
Come and love me right
Stay with me tonight
Could you be the one for me?
Can you qualify
Come and love me right
Stay with me tonight
Lookey here
Better hurry up and check it out
Lookey here, lookey here
Your steak ain't no hipper than my porkchop
Your Cadillac ain't no hipper than my bus stop
Your champagne ain't no hipper than my soda pop
Lookey here, I'm ready to take care of business
Have no fear, I'm already here
I'll Tell you now (I'm qualified)
You know that I'm qualified
(You know that I'm qualified)
Your top hat ain't no better than my ginger brown
And your sharp skin ain't no badder than my Levis Jim
The money you got, it ain't no better than a higher spending man's
All I've got is a little bit of common sense
I believe in my heart, the best e.d. is experience
I'll tell you now (I'm qualified)
You know that I'm qualified
(You know that I'm qualiied)
You may find me in a project slum
Be hanging out with all the skid row bums
I may be sick and I may seem dumb
That don't mean you know where I'm coming from
Look out kid
Just make a little room for
Your social life ain't no better than my hot dog stand
Your edu-ma-cation ain't no hipper than what you understand
Your woman that you got she ain't no hipper than a hot loving band
I got the power to control
I can see clean through your blind mole?
And I want to tell you now (I'm qualified)
You know that I'm qualified
(You know that I'm qualiied)
(Fadeout)
Look at me, I'm filling up in class
And you better watch out, I'm stepping up fast
And I ain't a jacket on me, I've been hanging out in the projects
Hangin' out with all you rednecks
I hob grad net guad ausgschaut, nur a Jean und Arbeitshemd,
Doch scho am nächst'n Samstag schmeiß' i mi fesch ins G'wand,
Da sieg i's aa scho sitzen, mei Diskotheken-Fee,

Am nächsten Tag, da nimm' i ma an großen zweiten Anlauf,
Und fahr' in die Boutique, wo i an Superanzug kauf',
I mach mi eleganter als i eigentlich bin,
Des Resultat, na, wann i z'ruckdenk', wir' i heid no a Narr,
Da sieg i's aa scho sitzen, mei Diskotheken-Fee,

I zieh' mei alte Jean an und a un'bügelt's Hemd,
Mei Liaber, i hob ausg'schaut, i war mir selber fremd,
Da sieg i's aa scho sitzen, mei Diskotheken-Fee,
