Eamon Ryan and Corrib Gas
In June 07 Green Party TD Eamon Ryan became Minster for Energy & Natural Resources. Before entering Government Eamon Ryan had supported the Shell to Sea campaign and been critical of the Shell project. However since becoming a Minister he has supported Shell and their Corrib Gas Project and forgotten his previous declarations. Recently he has begun lying about the merits of the Shell project. On Friday 5th December 2008 at Erris, Co Mayo, Minister Eamon Ryan hosted a forum to address Shell Corrib Gas issues. A People's Forum, hosted by local residents, ran simultaneously at the same venue, to address what the Minister's Forum would not address, ie the substantive issues of Health, Safety & the Environment, the Great Gas Giveaway and Community Consent.

22 opposition TD's emand reversal of Corrib Gas pipeline consents 22 March 2011
News Release - Issued by Dublin Shell to Sea Monday 21 March 2011 Up to 20 opposition TDs to demand reversal of Corrib Gas pipeline consents Up to 20 opposition TDs will attend a Dublin Shell to Sea photo-call and press conference at 12.30pm on Tuesday 22 March at the Kildare Street gates of Leinster House. The TDs will be supporting Shell to Sea's call for the Fine Gael/Labour coalition government and new Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources, Pat Rabbitte to overturn the consents granted by former minister Pat Carey's to Shell E&P Ireland on the day of the recent general election. The consents relate to the onshore section of the Corrib gas pipeline and were issued despite High Court proceedings being initiated by An Taisce and Erris residents against last January's An Bord Pleanála decision to grant permission for the onshore section of the Corrib gas pipeline. Dublin Shell to Sea spokesperson Caoimhe Kerins criticised Pat Carey's decision, 'these consents were issued in a highly dubious manner on the day of the recent general election. Pat Carey, who was only in the Department a matter of weeks, had no mandate to issue the consents to Shell. He was a cabinet minister in a government with minority support and it is scandalous that such a major decision relating to the state's natural resources should be taken in this way.' 'It is noteworthy that a number of weeks prior to the general election former Minister of Finance Brian Lenihan postponed the ...

The Corrib gas project is a reflection of much of what has been and is being done wrong in Ireland. Despite media censorship resistance is strong - the project is a decade late and even Shell now say that they won't be done until late 2014. The Plunder part 1
The Plunder part 1
This video represents the many people not given a voice in the mainstream media. They have been denied a voice mainly because of their dissenting views about the Corrib gas project in its current form. There are interviews with many people who have suffered both personally and financially for daring to oppose the oil and gas industry. This industry has been supported by the various intimidatory and violent methods used by the Garda. The mainstream media has consistently misrepresented the facts, and has failed to report human rights abuses taking place in Mayo. It has instead tried to demonise anybody who goes against their neo-liberal view-point on how Ireland should be organized and structured. Most of the interviews were filmed over the last month. Thanks to all of the people who generously gave up their time and energy to make this no budget documentary. Shell to Sea swimmers arrested in Broadhaven Bay, 24th June 2009
Two swimmers from the Rossport Solidarity Camp were arrested on the evening of the 24th of June 2009 while attempting to disrupt preparatory works for the laying of an offshore pipeline as part of Shell's Corrib Gas project. The two swimmers an the three kayakers with them were opposed by 18 ribs variously belonging to the Gardai (police), the Irish navy and Shell's security subcontractor IRMS. Each rib had a minimum of three personnel on board, many had considerably more than that number as crew.

Pat O`Donnell
Pat O`Donnell
This interview was recorded at the Rossport Solidarity Camp on June 1 20009 . At 2am on Thursday 11 june , Pat O'Donnell's boat the 'Iona Isle' was boarded by four masked men and sunk out at sea, near where Mr. O'Donnell lays his fishing pots off Erris, North Mayo. Mr. O'Donnell and crewman Martin McDonnell were attacked and held down by some of the men, while others went below deck, where they proceeded to sink the boat. Both local men have been taken to Castlebar General Hospital, where they are recovering. This action has been taken due to Mr. O'Donnell's vocal opposition to Shell's Corrib Gas project. He is a local fisherman who whose family has fished Broadhaven Bay for generations. Mr. O'Donnell is against the destruction of the Bay and his livelihood by Shell, and has been assaulted by Shell security and Gardaí on a number of previous occasions. This development follows a sinister pattern of attacks on high profile opponents of the Corrib gas project. A video by Madam K

Corrib Corruption Part 1
Corrib Corruption Part 1
The Corrib gas field is a natural resource of the Irish people, but almost all the great wealth involved will go to private companies. This video is Part 1of a series detailing how this national treachary came about and the shameful part played by the polititions who sold out for a trivial sum into party funds. Part 1 deals with the history from early days and how the oil companies faked the core drillings to show less gas than was present in the drillings.

Corrib Corruption Part 2 Pádraig Campbell
To understand the protests at Rossport about the Corrib Gas project, it is helpful to get the history of oil and gas development around the Irish coast. It is largely a history of corruption by both the oil companies and the polititions who were entrusted with managing natural resources on behalf of the people. Dick Spring (Labour Party) described what went on as 'economic treachery'
