Burbank's African Sister City/A documentary on Gaborone, Botswana.
Peter Musurlian, a solo documentary journalist with Globalist Films & The Burbank Channel, produced this 33-minute look at Gaborone, Botswana capital country and a Sister City to Burbank, California since 1975.
I know everywhere you look concerning Africa is always linked with depressing, discouraging and negative images that do not uplift nor encourage one to invest in the future of the Motherland. All you see about Africa is starving children with flies around them desperate for help. Yes, there are children starving in Africa but you cannot inspire people to achieve their full potential or change their conditions by presenting them with negative images. You have to inspire them by showing them positive images and what they are capable of accomplishing.
Africa has been through so much and now is finally puting the past behind and moving on forward! With hardships comes RELIEF and Africa is finally relieved after so long!Nothing is like seeing home sweet home happy!
Put a BIG smile on your face. The Motherland is seeing a bright future ahead and you should too .

Bunny-hugging metalheads in Botswana
The Botswanian metalhead Gunsmoke has completely adopted the metalhead style. In the capital Gaborone he headbangs at metal festivals shrouded in black leather cowboy clothes. But his leather-look makes him look more dangerous than he is, because during the day Gunsmoke rather cuddles with rabbits on the farm of his father.

Opportunities and Challenges Facing Botswana - Part 1
(www.abndigital.com)
After celebrating 46 years of independence from the United Kingdom, the Republic of Botswana has had four decades of uninterrupted civilian leadership, progressive social policies and significant capital investment. This has led to the creation of one of the most dynamic economies in Africa, but the country also has one of the world's highest known rates of HIV/Aids infection and other socio economic challenges. On Invest Africa we take a closer look at the opportunities and challenges that this Southern African country presents.

A Tale of Two Countries: Botswana and Zimbabwe
According to Prof. Scott Beaulier, when most people think of Africa and the standard of living it provides, they tend to think of the entire continent as a whole rather than the individual countries. This type of thinking, however, overlooks some large differences that exist between African countries. Specifically, when comparing Botswana to other African countries, there is a stark contrast in living conditions. Prof. Scott Beaulier analyzes the data and explains why these differences in living standards exist.

Gaborone GabCity - Botswana
Gaborone, the capital of Botswana, has the usual facilities of any modern capital city, small though it may be by world standards. Today Gaborone is a vibrant cosmopolitan capital, and although small in size, is a melting pot of diverse cultures and practices. There are numerous busy shopping malls offering a full range of imported and locally produced goods, excellent restaurants, international-quality hotels, sports clubs and various night clubs. New buildings (such as Phakalane) sprout like mushrooms wherever exists a block of land to fit them, resulting in a mix of low-cost housing, blocks of flats, shopping centers and industrial complexes. By value Botswana is the largest producer of Diamonds.

Self Drive Do it Yourself Botswana: http://www.africaafrica.co.za/
Since Africa has opened up for Tourist, many 4 x 4 owners and nature lovers are planning to visit various destinations offered by countries north of the Limpopo. The most popular destination is Botswana, without a doubt one of Africa's last real bastions of game. A land of contrasts -- from the harsh beauty of Central Kalahari to the lush woodlands of the Okavango Delta.
Adventure Films recognised the need of many 4 x 4 owners for more information regarding this beautiful country. The adventurers who want to arrange their own
4 x 4 safari to Botswana are sometimes sceptical of going, due to the lack of information available regarding facilities, accommodation, road conditions and many more.
For this reason, the video "The Botswana Adventure" was produced. The video is not a wildlife film. The purpose of this production is to inform potential visitors to Botswana about relative aspects that could assist them in planning their 4 x 4 adventure. Topics featured are National Parks, relevant towns, hotels and lodges, camping sites, road conditions and useful tips regarding your adventure.
Our route starts at the border with South Africa and takes us to the northern part of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve (Deception Valley), from where we travel on to Maun -- the Gateway to the Okavango Delta. We then headed north to Moremi, on to Savuti, Linyanti and Ihaha in the beautiful Chobe National Park. We end our adventure in the town of Kasane in the North Eastern side of Botswana close to the magnificent Victoria Water Falls.

Camping expedition in Botswana, southern africa.
Experience Botswana wildlife, close and sometimes very close.
Lions sleeping between our tents. Fortunately no hunt no attack and no kill.

We stayed in:

We saw cute bateared foxes, lions on many occasions and encounterd several times wild dogs, cheetahs, leopards and besides the rhino the big five.
Many, many bird species.
Many, many elephants and a lot of different antelopes.
