Hinduism is the oldest spiritual tradition of this world and is all about liberty and freedom to carve one's own path to divine.It has no concept of apostasy or blasphemy or even conversion! But without any push towards conversion it is winning hearts and minds of people all over the world by it's teaching,love and philosophy alone. Liberty is gr8est asset of humanity and no liberty is gr8er than liberty of choosing your Gods/Goddesses or none!!That is Hinduism-Liberty and Liberation!! Hinduism is not just a faith. It is the union of reason and intuition that can not be defined but is only to be experienced. Evil and error are not ultimate. There is no Hell, for that means there is a place where God is not, and there are sins which exceed his love. Hindu texts laugh at religions as being the dogma of self-righteous fools and emphasize on Dharma-the righteous way. Hinduism is just a convenient label for the worlds oldest spiritual and philosophical tradition.

The poets who participated in the recently held AliGarh Mushaira were Ashfaq Hussain (Canada), Tahir Faraz (India), Javed Akhtar (India), Wasi Shah(Pakistan) and Anwar Masood (Pakistan). Javed Akhtar and Wasi Shah praised the efforts of AliGarh Alumni Association in North America for promoting Urdu. This package includes SOTS of Javed Akhtar, Wasi Shah, Satya Pal Anand and Ashfaq Hussain. The audience also commented about the mushaira and wanted to have more and more such events which will help the local Pakistani and Indian community to stay in touch with their culture and language Urdu.

Annual Aligarh Alumni Mushaira in Wahington 2011
Saqib Ul Islam, Urdu VOA News, Rockville, Maryland The Aligarh Alumni Association of Washington DC held its 37th Annual Mushaira ( Poetry Recitation ) in Rockville MD. This tradition was started in 1974 by Aligarh Alumnis in Washington DC .Dr. Abdullah is the one of the pioneers of this association, who says that the effort keeps the new generation of Urdu speakers close to their language and culture. This year the Mushaira was headed by Pakistani poet Iftikhar Arif who is participating in this Mushaira for the first time. Along with Iftikahr Arif, Inam Ul Haq Javed (Pakistan), Salman Akhtar (India/USA) Nazeer Baqri, Ashok Narayan, Hussain ul Haq (India) and Bano Arshad from UK also participated along with many local poets. Iftikhar Arif and Inam Ul Haq Javed appreciated the effort from Aligarh Alumnis while Salman Akhter shared his poetry of English and Urdu collaboration, which he says, will connect with the new generation of Urdu Speakers in West.

"Majaz" or "Majaz Lakhnawi" who's original name was Asrar-ul-Haq, was the poet who composed the unforgettable Aligarh Tarana and music has been composed by Khan Ishtiaque. The Chief guest of 58th annual convocation was the former President of India, APJ Abdul Kalam. Wipro Technologies Limited chairman, Azim Premji was also invited to grace the occasion.
