6024 'King Edward I' pelts through Didcot Parkway on the Bristolian, Twice!
Here we see GWR 60xx, 6024 King Edward I storm through Didcot Parkway, twice! She put on a great performance on the outward journey with her whistling all the way through the platform, with the pannier in the DRC joining in! On the way back she was also absolutely bombing it and she put on a great show for us again! I absolutely enjoyed the show she put on and I look forward to her back on the mainline! Thanks Everyone who got this video to 1000 views! DB Schenker's newly repainted and overhauled 60079 is arriving into Didcot Yard at 15:44 with the 6V38 Marchwood - Didcot Yard MOD train ...60079 left Toton having been repainted into DB colours on the 2nd February on a test run to Peterborough and back but only officially entered service from Toton yesterday... This was all filmed on the 8th February 2012. Enjoy!

Another addition to my 'Trainz around Britain' series, we return to the Western Region, and this time to the junction station of Didcot Parkway. Located at the junction on the Great Western Mainline between Reading and Swindon where the line to Oxford and the Cotswolds diverges, the station area is a hive of activity around the clock. This representation of Didcot Parkway shows the station as it was in October 2005, back when the bright purple of the First Great Western 'Barbie' livery was dominant, and the crimson and gold of EWS was the main force behind the yard's traction: 1. First to appear is Freightliner's 57007 'Freightliner Bond', seen pulling into Didcot Parkway's Platform 3 with an intermodal freight from Southampton. After clearance is given, the 57 clags profusely as it leads its long train north towards Oxford. 2. All change was on its way by this point, as sole re-engined Class 43 HST, 43009 'FIRST Transforming Travel' is seen arriving at Didcot, newly re-engined with its German built MTU. After a short stop for passengers, the relatively quiet MTU departs for London Paddington, with one of the Paxman Valenta's it would later replace screaming on the rear. 3. Arriving from the north, 66046 is seen pulling to a red light with a rake of Scrap wagons 4. Overtaking the 66, one of the company's Class 60's is seen speeding past with a rake of TDA tankers on the avoiding line 5. With clearance given, 66046 departs eastbound 6. A very loud 5322 - A day at Didcot Railway Centre 26-08-12
It has taken nearly a week for me to write this description, so apologies. Over the August bank holiday weekend, 70000 Britannia was on a running in turn at Didcot Railway Centre following repairs to a broken spring. It gave me the perfect excuse to visit the DRC, which I haven't visited in over a year. I was joined by Kristian (letmadnessbegin) and I thank him for a great day out. We spent most of the day at the lineside, looking around the various static exhibits and watching 70000 passing on the main demonstration line, as well as taking a couple of trips behind the Brit and 5322. This video features 5322, which as well as making frequent trips to the turntable, ran three TPO runs on the main demonstration line. 5322 was making a great noise, and I am looking forward to seeing her on the Mid Hants Railway next weekend for their Autumn Steam Gala - Maunsell Magic. I can't wait to hear her bark on the 1in60 out of Ropley! www.steamvideos.net

A day at Didcot Railway Centre w/ 70000 Britannia & 5322 - 26/08/12
During the bank holiday weekend BR Standard Class 7MT 4-6-2 no.70000 Britannia was employed on Didcot Railway Centre's main running line after having repairs to her bogie springs. Running alongside her was GWR 4300 Class 2-6-0 no.5322 still in her lovely BR Black livery, so much for temporary! As well as GWR Diesel Railcar no.22 (Not featured in this video) running on the branch line. We were in for a treat today with fantastic performances from both engines and even a surprise TPO! For the day I joined fellow YouTuber James (NwsNoaaChaser) and it was good to catch up and talk about the trials and tribulations of being a railway enthusiast, as well as having a good laugh. Amazingly the weather was kind to us and we were able to get some lovely shots of both locos in the sun. Our first shot sees Britannia passing by on the demo line, resplendent in her BR Green livery with BR Early Emblem as well as having a 'Capitals United Express' headboard and reporting numbers which looked great on her, albeit with the headboard a bit askew. 5322 & 'Pannier Tank' no.3738 are seen in the yard as Britannia arrives back, 5322 then moves off shed for the turntable where she is seen being turned a full 360°, whilst at the turntable we see resident Class 08 no.604 'Phantom' and the tender & boiler of Castle Class no.4079 Pendennis Castle. Turn up the speakers, sit back, relax and enjoy the sight and sound of GWR 4300 Class 2-6-0 no.5322 on Didcot Railway Centre's TPO demonstration not once, not twice, but three times. First shot is a pan and zoom shot, the second is a...uh not pan and zoom shot and the third is a zoomed in shot so you see the mail being collected. This is part of my visit to Didcot to see 70000 Britannia and one of the parts I thought deserved their own bits, but they'll still be appearing in the final video. The GWR Railmotor No.93 at the Didcot Railway Centre. A Railmotor is a self powered passenger carriage which includes a small steam engine at one end. This film includes both lineside and internal views, plus a cab view showing how the train driver could control the train from the end which is remote from the steam engine. Also seen are the 'walkover' transverse seat backs which mean that most passengers can always face the direction of travel and the cloth window blinds - complete with GWR motif!
