Animal Collective Announce Tour Dates

By Will, June 15th 2012

With new album Centipede Hz coming out September 4 via Domino, Animal Collective have announced some new tour dates. They stop in at Brooklyn’s Williamsburg Park on October 5. Tickets go on sale tomorrow, so be ready. Find the full tour dates posted after the jump below.

One fair warning. The band played almost all new material at last years Prospect Park show, so this show can almost be guaranteed to be the same. Don’t go into the shows hoping to hear too much older material, you’re bound to be going into it wrong.

[new]: Grizzly Bear – Sleeping Ute

By Will, June 5th 2012

Grizzly Bear are back with a brand new song called “Sleeping Ute”. It’s off their upcoming new album which will come out via Mute on September 18.

The album is still untitled, but the fantastic “Sleeping Ute” will keep that off your mind for the time being. If there’s a way to capture the psych ode’s of Yellow House and the glossy-beauty of Veckatimest, this is the song. It’s the best of both of Grizzly Bear’s very great worlds. Dan takes the lead here, and hits it out of the park.

The band has also announced a world tour that will see them at Radio City Music Hall on September 24. Sign up to their mailing list at their website to get purchase links.

Find the album tracklist as well as the full tour dates posted after the jump.

UK-based band Alt-J have finally announced the US release of their debut album, An Awesome Wave. It will come via Canvasback Music on September 18. The album has been out in the UK since May 28.

Alt-J create forward thinking music that is smart and unique, allowing them to stand out from the rest. Don’t know if you can pin point a genre on them, this boys need their own separate category. Below you can download “Fitzpleasure” a great cut from the album. It’s a real jam.

The last time I saw Bloc Party was at United Palace Theater in 2007. They’ve changed a lot since then, and so have I. So it’s appropriate for me to be perfectly excited that they have announced a new NYC show. It will take place at Terminal 5 on August 8. The Drums are opening (they’re both signed to Frenchkiss). This is a no-brainier folks. It’s their first NYC show in nearly 3 years.

Tickets go on sale for the Terminal 5 show on 4/20 at noon. The good old Amex pre-sale takes place 4/18 also at noon. Here’s the link to purchase tickets, from your friendly neighborhood ticketmaster.

Bloc Party are also playing Lollapalooza. Find the rest of their tour dates below.
