Arrange – I Want To Be Alright

By Will, April 26th 2012 New Stream

Here I am at 3 in the morning, unable to sleep. I’m tired and tiredly browsing my facebook timeline as I now have a week to edit it. Anyway, my point is I’m somewhat groggy, and it’s definitely one of those nights.

I just checked my inbox and was sent a song that perfectly captures the late-night sensation that I’m currently sitting through. It’s a slow grinding r&b jam called “I Want To Be Alright”. It’s from Malcom Lacey, a Portland artist that works under the name Arrange. He is releasing an album titled New Memory, and “I Want To Be Alright” is a bonus track from it.

If this is just a bonus track, the rest of the album must be pretty damn good. Stream the track below, and head to his bandcamp page to listen to the full album, and pre-order it on vinyl. I’ve also embedded an album stream after the jump.

Totally slept on First Aid Kit, and their wonderful song “Emmylou”. First Aid Kit is sisters Johanna and Klara Söderberg who come from Sweden. ”

“Emmylou” sits somewhere between a big dreamy folk sound and alt-country. These girls can really sing. Beautiful stuff. Lovely, lovely, lovely. It’s from their 2012 album The Lion’s Roar.

Last week they played it live for Conan. You can find that performance posted after the music video.

The Very Best have announced that they will return with a new album on July 17. It’s called MTMTMK and will be released via Moshi Moshi + Cooperative Music. It was recorded in Esau Mwamwaya’s hometown of Lilongwe, Malawi.

“Yoshua Alikuti” is the first single from the album. The band shared it’s music video today, and it’s sounding like a very worldy track with plenty do dance about. The video is a play on Lil’ Wayne’s “A Milli” video. It was directed by Village Beat, and is posted below.

Enjoying this dramatic synth-pop from Sydney representatives, Circle. It’s taken from their debut release, The Middle (although they released bedroom recordings, and albums under the names Opanoni and The Raindrops). I will be released on August 8 via Monday Records.

It’s got a slow but epic buildup that sorta sits somewhere between a fusion of M83, The Naked & Famous, The Temper Trap and Friendly Fires. It’s pretty great, and something that definitely has the potential to get really big. If not, it’s our little secret.

music video which is posted after the jump.
