Coachella 2012 Lineup

By Will, January 10th 2012 — with 3 comments

The 2012 Coachella lineup has been revealed and as usual, it’s massive. The three headliners are The Black Keys, Radiohead, and Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg. Then you got the return of Pulp and At The Drive-In (who just announced their reunion today), Bon Iver, Arctic Monkeys, The Shins, Jeff Mangum, Justice, Beirut, The Weeknd, Florence & The Machine, M83, The Rapture, Girls, The Horrors, WU LYF, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, St. Vincent, Santigold, Real Estate, Kasabian, Azealia Banks, Kaiser Chiefs, The Vaccines, and Wild Beasts are also there, just to name a few.

Money is tight for all of us, but a lineup like this is hard to resist. The festival takes place on two weekends this year: April 13-15 and the second April 20-22. The lineups will be the same, it’s just so damn epic they need two of them. Three day passes go on sale this Friday and start at $285 (source).

Don’t know if I can make it out, although I would really love to. Do you plan to make the trip?

Bombay Bicyle Club – Shuffle

By Will, November 28th 2011 — with 3 comments

Missed two things from Bombay Bicyle Club this year. They released a fantastic single called “Shuffle” off their new album A Different Kind Of Fix, and covered Lana Del Rey’s heavily covered/remixed “Video Games” for BBC’s Live Lounge (just like Kasabian). Both are necessary listens.

Listen to “Shuffle” below, and hit the jump to watch them cover “Video Games”.

Kasabian – Video Games (Lana Del Rey Cover)

By Will, October 28th 2011 — with 1 comment

Lana Del Rey has been remixed and covered probably more than anyone else in recent memory. It’s totally warranted. She apparently has finally officially announced that she is signed to Interscope Records, a move that shouldn’t be surprising. It is a move that’s going to keep the haters hating for her being marketing as an indie artist. That’s an argument for another day.

Kasabiant aren’t one of those haters. They recently covered “Video Games” for their BBC Live Lounge Session. It doesn’t change up the song at all, but why fix something that’s clearly not broken.

Download a mp3 of the cover and watch a video of them playing it, after the jump:

[NEW] Kasabian – Underdog & Vlad The Impaler

By Will, April 12th 2009 — with 1 comment

Kasabian are an exciting band. They got the ambition and attitude of Oasis, and the sound of Primal Scream. They have been on my radar even since itunes gave away “Club Foot” as a free download, and I have been a fan ever since. They are set to release their 3rd album on June 9th, titled “The West Rider Pauper Lunatic Asylum”. It is named after a mental institution built in West Yorkshire, England in the 1800′s. Kinda…creepy.

The band gave away “Vlad The Impaler” for free on their website along with a bizzare video. The bass for Vlad is immense! It was a great comeback song, succesfully capturing my attention. Kasabian is back! Well “Underdog”, the opening track from the album has leaked and I am very pleased. The band sounds totally into it, this song is massive! I can totally see the BBC eating this one up! What a way to open the album up, I hope they can keep the pace for the duration of the album!

I always have room in my collection for a good rock/electronic fusion. Kasabian fill that description quite well.
