New figures released this week once again strongly suggest that our youth are being kept out of jobs by the rising number of migrant workers in the UK. These newly released figures show that the number of migrants working in the UK who were born in Eastern Europe rose by 600,000 since the so-called A8 countries joined the EU in May 2004 while youth unemployment rose by almost 450,000 in the same period.

Originally, benefits were meant as the state’s obligation to support those who genuinely are not in a position to support themselves, yet today there are more than 200 families in the UK today who ‘earn’ more than £61,000 each on benefits.
