Trips to natural education centers, state parks, caves, and rivers offer an exciting blend of learning and adventure. Spring Forward Learning Center offers just that through their summer enrichment camps in Rock Island, Illinois. A grant from the Terracon Foundation, championed by one of our employee-owners, funded eight such field trips, helping the children build connections to the environment and foster an interest in nature. Since the Terracon Foundation introduced equity grants two years ago, employee-owners have championed more than $50,000 to organizations that support systemic change and build leadership in Black, Indigenous, or other historically under-resourced communities. Last year, this included a grant to Reconciliation Services’ REVEAL Launch Program, which addresses individual and community healing through essential social services.
