Offiical canoe and kayak races only started being held in the 19th century, in Great Britain, despite the sport dating back hundreds of years.
At Tokyo 2020, GB returned with two medals thanks to a silver for Mallory Franklin in the women's C-1 and a bronze for Liam Heath in the men's K-1 200m. Read more on the Tokyo 2020 website.
