I bought these for my job. I do captioning and I have to have excellent sound quality to hear and excellent microphone quality to upload dictation. This headset has provided those for me. It is also comfortable to wear all day long. I don't have any irritation or pain from this headset at all, and I get headaches very easily. The only thing I don't like is that the volume buttons are on the right earpiece. My previous headset had controls along the cord which I preferred. I also preferred the microphone to be on the left, while with this headset it is on the right. I have gotten used to the microphone placement but I still don't like the volume controls on the right earpiece. There are times I press the earpiece to my ear when I can't hear something well and I accidentally hit mute or a volume button - it's very frustrating. That's the reason I took a star off. I still decided to keep this headset because of the sound and microphone quality being so much better than the others I have tried.

Over the years, I've used a lot of headsets both cheap and expensive.

I bought this for two purposes: meetings and music during the workday. I'm using this headset a good 40 - 45 hours a week and regularly traveling between home and work with it in my standard kit.

For the meetings case, it works spectacularly. Good quality audio and microphone, better than any other headset I've used in terms of microphone. It might not filter out the sounds of a jackhammer or a rifle range or something like that, but it certainly will cope with people talking and typing within ear shot. Having one or two zoom meetings every day, I greatly appreciate the microphone! Sound quality is great for meetings where people talk. Can't speak for meetings that involve multimedia content production instead of conversations and screen shares. Simply swinging the mic boom up and down is enough for what I need, so no real need to putz with the buttons.

For the music case, it works well enough for my ears. No complaints. It's not going to compete with over the ear cans, but good quality audio and quite comfortable. Especially if you find yourself having to get up every few hours. If you're not an audiophile or trying to make your brain shake from the bass, I don't think anyone should complain about the sound quality. Maybe get something different if you're running a digital audio workstation instead of enjoying tunes.

The included travel bag is also pretty nice. I can easily wrap the cable around the headset, slide it into the bag, and toss it into my backpack. Keeps it nice and protected, and no worries about the cable getting lose in my bag.

For about $100, it's pretty darn good. If I was to change anything, I would replace the typical plastic insulated cable with a braided nylon for the tangle free. Like really, that's the only thing I can belly ache about, lol. It's quite common for the cable to get a bit of loop or tangle somewhere between my laptop and my head, but that's going to happen with *any* standard cable. On the positive side, it's available in either USB-C or USB-A which is quite nice.

I have been very happy so far, I use them every day 1-2 hours for language lessons and an additional 3-4 hours each week playing video games. They are comfortable and I haven't had any dropping out so far after about 4 months of use. The speaker on the right side is a little awkward but just because I've never had a headset like that. I was a little hesitant about the earmuff comfortability but so far it hasn't been an issue, it may depend on the ear shape of the person. I don't know how effective the noise cancellation is, I've asked people a few times on the other end and don't have much data. Overall, really happy and highly recommend, especially at the price point.

These Jabra evolve2 30 UC, are great quality. However, when setting up on a Windows based PC, I installed the Jabra direct driver and followed the install directions. And they didn't work properly at first. This was bad since it was in the start of important business meeting. So it's very important to go into the control panel then to device settings under microphone. The PC intergraded mic was on simultaneously with the Jabra microphone. So background noice from the PC mic was cancelling out the Jabra mic. Be sure to check the mic settings in your PC. I had to disable the PC built in "intergrated mic" in order for the Jabra to work properly. After this, all is great. Just be sure to check these settings before getting into an unprofessional situation. Best of luck!

I couldn't believe how well the noise cancelling microphone works. It's truly amazing.

However, why the company would go through this much effort to reduce microphone noise, but still let every last sound into the headphones, is beyond me. The way the ear pads are designed, they don't really seal around your ear very well. It should be like putting your palms over your ears, but instead it's more like putting your fingers over your ears.

Overall it's a useful tool and I like it, but a little more effort would have gone a very long way.

Overall I'm satisfied with this product.

Two gripes:
1. The product description says that if you move the boom arm up it will mute. IT WON'T. It will just make it really hard for people to hear you; that's fine if you're just drinking water or maybe a faint cough. But if you have a big cough or a dog yelling in the background or something it's better if it ACTUALLY muted.
2. The boom has to be on the right side. I used a previous Jabra that let it swing forward or back, so you could wear it left-handed, where the boom is on your left side and still in front of your mouth.

I use my headphones for virtual work meetings, it's great that they have built-in software to accommodate the Teams platform (I use them primarily for Teams and Webex); sound is excellent, comfort is very good (I have a somewhat small head, and I am female). I love the fact that I can "hear myself" when I speak, which is not a typical feature on headphones and the carrying case is very nice. I deducted one star was because I didn't realize that the headphones must be plugged into a Type C port (my laptop only one has, and I need it for my power cord), had to buy a "splitter", a USB Connect-C Hub, which was an added expense. Maybe I am just not using them properly but I have had problems with these.

They are lightweight and flexible there are two things not noted in the description of the product if I had known in advance I would not have purchased these headphones.

1. - Mic is on the right side and it can not be moved to the left - I always use my mic on the left ear I am left handed.

2.- Stated USB connection but this is actually USB-C and I had to purchase the adapter in order to use it on any of my equipment. Should have an adapter included for the price of this item.

Will not purchase Jabra items again unless they are more forthcoming with a complete description of the product. I have other wireless and wired headsets at 1/2 the price that work as good if not better then this item.

Not Flexible Enough

I'm sorry but: no. I don't understand the hype for this headset.

1. On Windows 11, the headset volume does not change accurately when I use volume up/down keys. e.g. if I hit volume up three or four times, maybe the headset volume will increase just once. This makes it hard to get a fine tuned volume and have it set exactly where I want.

2. The mic ends up horizontally right up against my mouth. I prefer when there is a little space to prevent breathing directly at people on Zoom.

3. The mic is required to be on the right side. That may be personal preference, but: would be nice if the mic could rotate 270 dg so that everyone is accommodated whether they want it on the left or right.

4. This I knew before buying, but it only has USB-C, not 3.5mm audio. I think a headset that supports both is better for flexibility on more devices.

5. The manual says that the mic can be raised to mute or lowered to unmute. This does not work.

Check out the Blackwire headsets instead.

A step down from the Evolve 40

I purchased the USB C Evolve2 30.

Comfort. Compared to the Evolve 40, the Evolve2 30 is uncomfortable. I find the headset too tight after an hour. My ears get fatigued after using it for more than an hour. In contrast, the Evolve 40 is a somewhat loose but it is very comfortable. I can use it for 3 hour classes without any fatigue. I find myself using my earbuds when I am not in meetings/classes instead of the Evolve2 30.

Sound. I find the volume for the Evolve2 30 to be too low. I think the DAC/amplifier settings on the headset are set low. Comparing with the Evolve 40 with the headset jack, the Evolve 2 30 has a lower volume. Playing music or watching movies with it is acceptable.

Mic. The microphone appears to be acceptable. However, the Evolve2 30 microphone can only be worn one way with the mic on the right side. The Evolve 40 can be used "ambidextrously" - it is designed so that you can lower the mic boom on either left or right side depending on your need.

Overall, I would have preferred to buy another Evolve 40 rather than purchasing the Evolve2 30.

I really like this unit, it's light weight comfortable, but most importantly the sound quality picked up by the mic is excellent. I had a Bluetooth unit, which I eventually gave up cause high quality sound was never really guaranteed. With a wired connection you don't have any interference issues. The wire is light weight, no dongle on them and easily plugs into my phone/laptop.
