Nice headset, great mic and sound, cable is kind of short
Reviewed in the United States on November 10, 2022
I have had Jabras before and this one is nice, really good quality mic, isolates sound well etc etc. Sound quality is great also. Nice cushy ear pads that cover well without being super huge.I am currently using it with a desktop machine on the floor under my desk and the cable is just too short to be comfortable. Even if the machine were actually on the desk as it's name suggests, say behind my monitors, it would still be an issue I think. So bear that in mind when looking to purchase.

When making sales calls, these headphones are perfect. Great sound quality. Comfort is good but could be a little better. Noise cancelling is excellent for the mic

I bought this as substitute for my Jabra Evolve 40 that I use during online meetings and gaming during weekends. This headset works great but I miss the flexibility of the Evolve 40 that has external controls to mute, increase and decrease your volume (the round control), this version Evolve2 40 has great sound and works with USB-C, but you need to control partly with the software you are using which is overwhelming during gaming, not as simple as it used to be.
If this version is paired with the round controller (from Evolve 40 first version) that can mute and has volume control externally, this will be almost perfect headphone for daily, work and light gaming use.

I wish I had known that the mic boom and cord were on the right side and cannot be reversed. It's this poor design flaw that has me scratching my head, as the cord is constantly in the way of using my mouse comfortably. Also, I wish the audio/call controls were inline on the cord rather than hidden somewhere on the earpiece. I also find the headphone fit to be a bit snug, so I can't imagine wearing these for an extended period of time.

I've used an old Jabra for 2 years and bought this after that broke thinking this would be an upgrade. I was wrong.
Headset is uncomfortable and my ears hurt after a few hours. Working from home I usually have to wear a headset for a long time.
Would NOT recommend if you're in a similar boat.

This headset is perfect and checks all the boxes! I was looking for a headset to use for meetings and online teaching using Zoom and Google Meet. The headset works flawlessly with both. I love that it is plug-and-play. My voice comes across crystal clear in both Zoom and Meet. I was looking for a wired headset with the ability to mute my mic by raising the mic boom. I tried other wireless headsets, and the connection was spotty, and the battery never lasted. Thus, I wanted a wired headset for the reliability in connection and never needing to charge it. This headset comes with noise-cancellation; I am pretty impressed with how well it works. I tried it in a loud cafe, and the only thing heard was my voice. This will come in handy when I am traveling. It is comfortable to wear and seems to be well made. I highly recommend it.
Update: After using the headset for a couple months, I'm still in love. I have come to love another feature I thought was worth highlighting. The usb wire has a mute indicator light on it. It is so nice when you have a million windows open to just look over and see the red light that I'm muted. No more checking back in the meeting widow to double check. The light even captures when you mute from the meeting (Zoom/Google Meet).

I really like these headphones. I cannot choose which side I put the mike on and they are set on the opposite side than what I am use to AND the mute when you lift the mic is not 100% consistent but in general work 95% of the time. Overall I am very pleased with this refurbished headphone product. I would definitely buy from this vendor again and definitely recommend them

Excelente cancelación de sonido
Reviewed in Mexico on June 4, 2021Style: Stereo (USB-C)Size: Microsoft TeamsVerified Purchase

What changed my mind
Reviewed in Canada on September 24, 2021Style: Stereo (USB-C)Size: Unified CommunicationsVerified Purchase
I had always been against wearing over-ear headphones as they are usually oversized, heavy, hot and the weight on my neck usually causing headaches afterwards. Since the pandemic, online meetings have become an essential way of communicating at work and keeping in touch with loved ones, I am so pleased that I found this new generation of Jabra on-ear headphones. It is lightweight, great-looking, comfortable, provides sufficient noise cancellation and clear sound. I have tried the Evolve2 30 originally because worrying about Evolve2 40 may be too heavy for me. But I was convinced by the larger speakers that delivered a much clear sound than Evolve2 30 and the weight is acceptable which did not cause me headache or neck pain even after wearing it for 5 to 7 hours a day with 3 to 4 small breaks in between. I highly recommend it.

Not impressed
Reviewed in Canada on January 15, 2023Style: Stereo (USB-C)Size: Unified CommunicationsVerified Purchase
One stupid design flaw - Apart from personal preference, there are technical reasons why one might want (or need) a headset with a microphone that can be worn on the other side of the face. Like the location on the computer of the necessary port for connecting, and not wanting to have miles of kinky cord wrapped around the computer and interfering with the work space where one takes notes if one is right-handed, as most people are. Or is paper passe? Another design flaw - difficult/impossible to adjust fit while wearing. And another - I cannot hear myself through the headphone when I am speaking. Tests indicate that I am clearly audible to the others present. So the "noise cancelling" practically cancels out my own speech. Not a good feature for online classes. Finally, one ear began to hurt after less than a hour. What a piece of (expensive) junk.
I am not impressed.

Not as good as its predecessor and not up to Jabra's usual quality standard
Reviewed in Canada on May 10, 2022Style: Stereo (USB-A)Size: Unified CommunicationsVerified Purchase
I've been using the Evolve 40 for the past couple of years, but about a couple months ago the part where the earphones slide to adjust broke. I was able to hold them together with some plastic bonder for awhile, but they broke again so after looking around I ended up going with these Evolve2 40 - they appeared to be more sturdy and I assumed they'd be at least as good as the original.
Nope.
Cons -
First thing, they're uncomfortable. If they're sitting on your ears, then they put pressure on the top of your head. If you tilt them back a bit so they're not pushing directly down, they'll continue to slowly slide back, and on top of that, the boom doesn't swing low enough to compensate so now the boom is in an awkward position.
The boom only swings one way, so you have to wear the boom on the right side regardless of what's most convenient.
The boom also sits unnervingly close to your face, I have to frequently change the position to keep it from touching and creating major mic noise.
There's no convenient pod with a mute button and mute indicator like the original Evolve had.
Out of the box, the only way to mute is to swing the boom up.
The mute button and mute indicator only work if you install the software. The mute indicator is now on the USB plug, which isn't always in an easy-to-see location. If you have the software installed, pushing the mute button will create a playback in the headset to tell you that mute is on, and you can enable an annoying sound to repeat every 30 seconds or so to tell you it's on mute. Most headsets have used a simple chirp to audibly indicate mute, these use an annoying low rumbling noise.
The sidetone isn't hardwired, instead it's supposed to operate through software - except it doesn't actually work. You can set the sidetone in the software to different levels, but the low levels all just mean there's no sidetone at all, and the higher levels just seem to pick up everything around you, keyboard clicks, ambient noise, whatever. I couldn't find a way to actually hear my voice regardless of the setting.
The on-call indicator light does not work, doesn't matter if you have the software installed or not.
Pros:
Overall sound quality does seem better.
They do seem to be better built than the original Evolve.
All in all, whatever Jabra has done here seems to be in almost every respect a downgrade from the original Evolve 40 headset. Everything worked with that right out of the box, no reliance on software at all. With these you need to install software just to get some things partially working, and a lot of office workers don't have admin rights on their workstations so that's not just a simple thing.
I'm returning these, they're not even close to worth the price you pay.

Fidelidad de audio para reuniones
Reviewed in Mexico on August 9, 2022Style: Stereo (USB-A)Size: Unified CommunicationsVerified Purchase
