    I don't care how smart a child is, if they cannot regulate their emotions and manage their behaviors they will struggle both inside and outside of school. Social emotional learning is as critical as math and reading.

    Two years ago I tore up my suicide note after months of depression I finally wanted to live again. I went out for a walk earlier reflecting on all that’s happened I couldn’t help but smile. It hasn’t been easy but I’m glad I stayed!

    Depression is awful when it is severe. You have no energy. You cannot focus on anything. Everything seems desolate and empty. You have to fight to stay out of bed and often want to lay down and do nothing. And even if lonely, you don't have energy to talk

    Teaching kids to meditate from an early age would really help with so many of society's mental health issues. Inner peace is mental medicine.

    It's important to know who is available to help. Therapists are individuals who are professionally trained to individuals understand and cope with their feelings, thoughts, and behaviors.
