Howard White, Chief Executive Officer

Howard White is the Chief Executive Officer of Campbell. He was previously the founding Executive Director of the International Initiative for Impact Evaluation (3ie) and has led the impact evaluation program of the World Bank's Independent Evaluation Group.

Howard started his career as an academic researcher at the Institute of Social Studies in The Hague, and the Institute of Development Studies, University of Sussex. As an academic, he leans towards work with policy relevance and working in the policy field believes in academic rigor as the basis for policy and practice.

His other interests are running and walking, preferably long distances in remote places, and reading English history.

Vivian Welch, Editor in Chief

Dr Vivian Welch was appointed as Campbell's first full-time Editor in Chief in September 2017. Vivian brings 20 years of systematic review experience with both Cochrane and Campbell, with a focus on clinical and policy relevance. Since 2010, she has led multidisciplinary methods research in collaboration with patients, clinicians, policy leaders, statistician, economists and other academics, leading to high-impact methods guidance. She has held several leadership positions both locally as director of the Methods Centre at the Bruyère Research Institute and globally as co-convenor of the Campbell and Cochrane Equity Methods Group. She has held editorial roles since 1997, most recently as editor of the Cochrane Methods Journal and the BMC Research Methodology section on economic, social and ethical issues affecting implementation.

She is an avid runner and adventurer, bicycle commuter, recreational gardener, and enthusiastic Nordic ski coach.

Jatin Juneja, Grants & Finance Manager

Jatin Juneja joined Campbell in January 2017 as Grants & Finance Manager. He has worked in financial accounting for over 15 years. His core areas of expertise include budgeting, grant management and statutory compliance. Prior to joining Campbell, he was working with 3ie as Senior Finance Officer. His previous experience in the corporate sector has included working for companies such Motorola India, Reliance Infocomm and Sapient Corporation.

Audrey Portes, Senior Project & Administration Manager

Audrey joined the Campbell secretariat in April 2016 as Project and Administration Manager. She provides project management and support for Campbell’s events, including the What Works Global Summit. Audrey also coordinates the communication between the secretariat and other actors in Campbell’s activities.

Prior to joining Campbell, Audrey was the Manager of the French iOS team for Apple Inc. at Teleperformance Greece. She also worked as an event coordinator at Les Mills France, as an administrative assistant at Loblaws Canada and as a teacher in schools in Greece, Canada and Norway. Audrey holds two Master degrees, one in Public Relations and Communication, from ICM University, France and the other in teaching French as an additional language, from Artois University, France.

Chui Hsia Yong
Communications & Publications Manager

Chui Hsia joined Campbell in July 2016. She has worked in communications for many, including as a web editor for Médecins Sans Frontières, publications and online manager for the World Steel Association, and TV presenter on Brussels regional television. She has lived all over the world and is now based in the Norwegian Institute of Public Health in Oslo.

Yashika Kanojia, Administrative Officer

Yashika joined Campbell in October 2017 as Administrative Officer. Yashika is responsible for providing administrative support to the CEO and Editor in Chief. Her work includes managing administration and events for the New Delhi office.

Prior to joining Campbell, Yashika was associated with international organisations such as the Global Development Network, the British High Commission, Hewitt Associates and IDEA telecom. She has a bachelor’s degree in commerce from Delhi University.

Ashrita Saran, Evidence Synthesis Specialist

Ashrita joined Campbell in December 2016 as an Evidence Synthesis Specialist. She holds a Masters in Public Health-Epidemiology from Manipal University. Previously, she has worked with Cochrane South-East Asia as an intern and as a research officer with the Public Health Foundation of India. As a researcher, Ashrita works to strengthen the evidence base for informed decisionmaking on matters related to health policy and programmes. Her core research interest areas lies in immunization, child health and welfare, HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and socio-economic aspects of health.

Ashrita is also an Editor of Campbell's International Development Coordinating Group.

Anil Thota, Evidence Synthesis Specialist

Anil Thota joined Campbell in March 2020. He has a medical degree from Manipal University and a master’s in public health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

Anil’s expertise is in the development of evidence-based recommendations of complex population-level interventions. He spent nine years at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) leading systematic reviews on the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of a wide array of population-level interventions, services and policies. He has also worked on evidence-based projects at Health Quality Ontario, Cochrane South Asia, The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids, Toronto) and the World Bank.

His interests include travel, food tours, political history, and sport.

Kusha Verma, Research Associate

Kusha is a labour economist with an post-graduate degree in economics from University College London, and an undergraduate degree in economics from Delhi University. She is particularly interested in analysing education and employment policy, and gender differentials in allotment of resources. At Campbell, she is working on a homelessness evidence and gap map.

Ashwani Verma, Research Associate

Ashwani joined Campbell in February 2020. He holds a Bachelor degree in Physiotherapy and a post-graduate degree in Public Health (Epidemiology). He is a public health researcher trained in conducting systematic reviews and in monitoring and evaluation.

Prior to joining Campbell, Ashwani was associated with the Non-communicable diseases division of the Indian Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and an international organisation, Jhpiego. Ashwani is based in New Delhi.

Suchi Malhotra, Research Associate

Suchi is a development professional with over 10 years' experience in various organisations. Prior to joining Campbell, she worked with 3ie supporting the monitoring and management of 3ie grants. She has also worked with the immunisation team of the Public Health Foundation of India, and on evidence generation for policies and programmes with the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation in India’s health ministry.

Suchi holds a master’s degree in social work from the University of Delhi specialising in women and child development and gerontology.
