    The cancelled exercises were a joint decision taken by the U.S. and ROK defense ministers. Let’s stop bringing it back to Trump 100% of the time.

    US pres. is fixated on $, cancels exerises, & says he believes KJU; ROK pres. says full steam ahead with S-N engagement & to find ways to mediate between US & NK. Both coddling KJU for different reasons that will weaken the ROK-US alliance. KJU smiling all the way to the bank.

    Nice to know the admin still lives in fantasy land. Does any serious person working on North Korea honestly believe Kim Jong-un is going to trade his warheads, ship out his CW/BW, kill his missile program and mothball all of his infrastructure? Denuke will take a generations.

    Jared Kushner has terrible judgement & hasn’t served his father-in-law well: -sold Saudi’s MbS as a reformer. -thought firing Comey was a good idea. -thought the Palestinians would quickly get over U.S. recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

    In her presidential weekly briefing, writes that Jared Kushner is a growing problem for President Trump: "Kushner is probably the number one draft pick for foreigners trying to manipulate US policy or gain access to sensitive information."

    North Korea is a nuclear weapons state, period. Whether we accept it or not is irrelevant at this point. It’s called reality.

    Good luck with that. I think Kin isonly one who knows what he is doing and succeeding brilliantly: attaining his goal of becoming accepted , like Paks, as de facto nuke state & eroding US position in Asia. Enjoy

    The truth is that days after the summit in Hanoi, none of us know why the talks ended. The North Koreans have their narrative. We have ours. Less time focusing on why the summit “failed” and more time focusing on what happens next.

    I disagree. We have a basis for negotiations now. It could be modified to be made to work. Still, we need to start planning for a time where we deter and consider arms control. Ex-NATO supreme commander: gave Trump a 'non-offer'

    Now that we know the Key Resolve and Foal Eagle cancellations were JOINT decisions by the U.S. and ROK defense ministers, will the “sky-is-falling, the alliance-is-breaking” panic abate? Probably not. Some won’t believe it was a joint decision. Others are stuck in their ways.

    Compared to a great power co flirt with China, a conventional war with North Korea, or a shooting war with Russia in the Baltics (all hypotheticals thank goodness), AQ and ISIS is a blip on the radar screen. Is it a threat? Sure. It is a top security threat? No.

    I often hear analysts say that in terms of global security priorities, terrorism is overrated & is more a nuisance than anything else. But terrorism can lead to the brink of conventional war (e.g. India-Pakistan) & massive humanitarian disasters (e.g. ), among other issues.
