Company History

Aptus Solutions Limited was formed in 1998 with a vision of providing IT solutions and consulting services. Its first project was a self-funded project called F.I.N.D. which aimed at creating an electronic directory that would be distributed globally to institutions and individuals - primarily within Tanzania. Global distribution was planned for Tanzanian Embassies, missionaries and travel agents outside of Tanzania.

The success of F.I.N.D. at the time was not clear, due to failure of meeting its self-set marketing objectives. However, it was used by numerous organizations, among them being the SADC meet in Tanzania in 2002 and the TIC Mission at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. F.I.N.D. was brought to a temporary halt since, at the time, computers were a luxury and expensive. Also, the emergence of Internet allowed the free flow of easily updated information eliminating the high costs of distributing media such as the CD.

In 2005, Aptus entered the computer wholesale market. Aptus would often consult its clients and recommend products which the clients would not be able to source immediately from the local market. The delay and high cost of importing special order items forced Aptus to enter the computer wholesale market. This diversification was in line with the objective of providing business solutions.

The addition of new director's to Aptus has brought with it new business ventures. Firstly, resuming Aptus' flagship project, FIND, with new marketing and distribution methods. Second being the entrance into the ISP, VoIP, and Tracking Business. With each service, Aptus remains true to its objective, to provide a solution to its clients. With the later, the new directors are bringing to Aptus their online Web Hosting & Domain services business, Xeraz Web Solutions - which is a good fit for Aptus considering the entrance into ISP business. The ISP and Domain & Hosting services will share many of the same resources - hosting a local server, providing 100Mbps + connection to TIX, and so on.

Maisha Wireless by Aptus Solutions provides unique internet solutions from Hotspot Services & Home Broadband Plans around the City Centre to Business Broadband & Dedicated internet plans all over Dar-es-salaam. TwigaTrack services by Aptus Solutions provides Asset Management - from basic tracking for vehicles & personal trackers for cash/valuables to complete management solutions for power generators and vehicles including route planning, delivery tracking, fuel management, and engine maintenance records. Aptus Solutions also provides VoIP services to customers - whether it is to make cost-effective clear calls outside Tanzania to inter-branch connectivity.
