Access to boats at High Performance Clubs 

With the help and support of Sport England the RYA is striving to make a small number of hubs for entry-level Paralympic training on a more local level.

To achieve this we are appointing High Performance Clubs (HPC's), in regional locations across the country.  The current HPC's which offer paralympic training are Rutland Sailing Club (in the midlands) and Queen Mary Sailing Club (in the south east), with additional clubs in the north of England to follow.

Following the success of the Paralympic Games 2012, the RYA received a boost to its Paralympic Pathway with a brand new fleet of sixteen 2.4mR single-person keelboats, with the aim of supporting future paralympic sailors for Great Britain.  Rutland Sailing Club and Queen Mary Sailing Club, established as two of the first Paralympic training sites through the RYA's HPC scheme, are the first two sites to take delivery of a number of new boats.

These boats will provide promising disabled sailors of all ages, access to the sport of sailing, bridging the gap between the RYA's Sailability program and the British Sailing Team 's performance remit at Paralympic level

To access to these boats, you must be an active Paralympic Pathway sailor involved with the 2.4mR class, via the HPC programme.  Please contact Paralympicpathway@rya.org.uk
