RYA Day Skipper – 5 day Shore Based course with Online Home Study option
# Course reference number: TC1
This is a comprehensive introduction to chart work, navigation, meteorology and the basics of seamanship. The course is invaluable if you want to learn how to start skippering and make decisions on board. The course will give you a broad insight into the theoretical aspects of sailing and help you decide if it is for you.
No previous experience is necessary, but some practical sailing experience is desirable. The RYA Competent Crew practical course is ideal for this.
Course Content: Introduction to navigation & safety. Please see syllabus details on the right.
Course Schedule:
- Classroom: 09:00 Monday – 17:30 Friday.
- Online: 40/50 hours of home study with an online tutor. Course completion should be within 6 months of registration but this is extendable for a small additional fee.
Ability after Course: Basic knowledge of navigation & safety.
Course Fees: (see above) to include:
- All course materials and loan of navigation equipment.
- Course completion certificate.
- Waterfront classroom.
Course Fee – Home Study US$500 to include:
- All course materials delivered to a UK address. Please add US$50 (UK£30) for secure DHL delivery outside UK.
- Online tutor to guide and assist throughout the course.
- Course completion certificate.
- Course is delivered by Navathome.
