The Royal Yachting Association in the UK administers numerous courses covering all aspects of sailing. There are dozens of RYA approved sailing clubs and sailing schools which run these courses throughout the year.
The various sailing courses available are outlined below.
Dinghy Level 1 - Start Sailing | |

Dinghy Level 2 - Basic Skills | |
This course sets out the foundations of sailing for you. By the end of it you'll be a competent light wind sailor. | |

Course Content : | Often combined with Level 1 into a 4 or 5 day course. Rigging, launching, sailing in all directions. Capsize recovery and essential safety background |

Dinghy Seamanship Skills | |
How to handle a boat in all circumstances and solve problems afloat.. | |

Course Content : | Training includes: launching and recovering the boat in different circumstances, stopping, reducing sail, recovering man overboard, anchoring. |

Dinghy Sailing with Spinnakers | |
Everything you need to know about sailing with a kite whether conventional or asymmetric. | |
Course Type : | DINGHY, Adult & Junior Course |

Course Content : | How to rig the boat, gybe and recover one type of spinnaker, either conventional or asymmetric. How to sail the best possible course downwind |

Dinghy Day Sailing | |
Passage planning and decision making for small boat cruising. | |
Course Type : | DINGHY, Adult & Junior Course |
Assumed Knowledge : | Skills and background to at least Level 2 |
Course Content : | Preparing and planning for a day cruise. Pilotage and decision making including adverse conditions. |
Ability After Course : | Able to plan and execute a cruise, depending on conditions. |
