Santander 2014 ISAF Sailing World Championships

(Santander, Spain / Oxford, UK) Sunset+Vine|APP, the Oxford-based unit of the multi-award winning UK independent TV sports production and media company Sunset+Vine, has been appointed production partner for the Santander 2014 ISAF Sailing World Championships. Sunset+Vine International is responsible for the television distribution of the championships which take place in Santander from 12th-21st September 2014.

Held every four years, the ISAF Sailing World Championships brings together all ten Olympic sailing classes and features more than 1250 athletes. It is not only World Championship titles that are at stake, the ISAF Worlds will also decide 50% of the national qualification spots available for the Rio 2016 Olympic Sailing Competition.

With daily news bulletins and live coverage of all ten Medal Races forming part of the programming offering, this year’s event has secured an unprecedented commitment from broadcasters with over 20 of them, including ESPN (USA), BBC, OSN and beIN France, taking the championships to over 40 territories worldwide.

ECB Four Year Archive Rights Deal

SUNSET+VINE TO REPRESENT ECB IN FOUR YEAR ARCHIVE RIGHTS DEAL.

RIGHTS IN EVERY TERRITORY FOR ALL ENGLAND INTERNATIONALS AND DOMESTIC MATCHES PLAYED IN ENGLAND AND WALES FROM 1995-2013.

(London) Sunset+Vine, the multi-award winning UK independent TV sports production and media company, has confirmed its appointment by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) to represent the ECB in a comprehensive four year archive rights deal.

The extensive ECB archive includes rights for all England internationals and domestic matches played in England and Wales, from 1995 to the present day to the end of the 2013 season, as well as international rights for these games pre-1995. The ECB archive covers Test matches, One Day Internationals, Twenty-20s and all county cricket competitions.

Sunset+Vine will not only be representing rights deals for the ECB’s archive, but will also be developing the ECB catalogue as well as producing bespoke programming opportunities for broadcasters drawn from existing archive footage.

Sunset+Vine works with the International Cricket Council (ICC) on a number of content creation projects; produces England’s International cricket highlights on Channel Five and has recently announced a deal with the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) to deliver the Lord’s Cricket Ground YouTube channel as well as content across the Lord’s Facebook and @HomeofCricket Twitter feed.

NEW UNIQUE CONTENT GIVING UNPRECEDENTED INSIGHT TO STARS OF CRICKET AND RE-IMAGINED ARCHIVE FOOTAGE GOES VIRAL.

(London) Sunset+Vine, the multi-award winning UK independent TV sports production and media company, has confirmed its appointment by Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) to deliver the Lord’s Cricket Ground YouTube channel as well as content across the Lord’s Facebook and @ Home of Cricket Twitter feed.

Sunset+Vine will be creating new content several times a week using a mixture of newly shot original content and by repurposing MCC’s extensive archive. YouTube specialist digital agency Diagonal View has been brought in by Sunset+Vine to handle channel management and optimisation requirements.

The new content is already offering ‘never seen before’ insights into cricket, which is proving massively popular for users. A GoPro camera was attached to Australian batting legend Adam Gilchrist’s helmet as he opened the batting in the recent MCC versus Rest of the World match at Lord’s. “GoPro batting” featuring Adam Gilchrist facing Shaun Tait has, so far, hit 315,000 views and over a ¼ million minutes watched, while a clip featuring the most famous man in cricket, Sachin Tendulkar, walking out at Lord’s, has reached almost 730,000 views on YouTube and over 1 million views on Facebook.

Glasgow 2014

41-POINT TABLE-TENNIS RALLY BECOMES GLASGOW 2014’S YOUTUBE CHANNEL’S MOST WATCHED VIDEO.

A video showing a captivating 41-shot rally during a Table Tennis match at the games has quickly become the Commonwealth Games YouTube Channel’s most watched video.

The memorable video – which even featured on the websites of The Washington Post, The BBC and The Daily Mail - was taken during the second match of the men’s semi-final between Nigeria’s Segun Toriola and Singapore’s Ning Gao on the 27th of July.

A dedicated Games channel is currently being streamed on the official Glasgow 2014 YouTube channel, providing non-stop coverage of the Games, concentrating on the best live sport available with regular sport highlights fresh from other venues.

The Commonwealth Games Federation is now an official Partner of YouTube/Google and has worked closely with Glasgow 2014 to provide a single Commonwealth Games YouTube channel for the first time.

Specialist Women’s Sport Unit

(Oxford) Sunset+Vine|APP the Oxford-based unit of the multi-award winning UK independent TV sports production and media company Sunset+Vine, has confirmed today the creation of a specialist Women’s Sports unit to be headed up by Lisa Hynes, a former Head of News at Sunset+Vine|APP. Hynes re-joins the company after a stint with Landmark Films where she was a Senior Producer.

The creation of the new department comes in the light of several significant wins for Sunset+Vine|APP over the past 12 months that have included commissions from BBC Sport to produce coverage of the UEFA Women’s EURO 2013 as well as England’s five home matches in the current Women’s World Cup qualifiers. The Women’s Sport Unit is working with federations, athletes and broadcasters to develop a road map that will broaden the appeal of women’s TV sport to viewers, advertisers and sponsors alike.

As part of that development, double Olympic sailing gold medallist, Shirley Robertson OBE, has joined the team as Associate Producer. Shirley will have a dual role of supporting Lisa in the development of the women's sports business as well as further enhancing the company’s sailing credentials in the lead up to the start of the Volvo Ocean Race 2014-2015, for which Sunset+Vine|APP is heading the production and Sunset+Vine International is the global distribution partner.

Shirley’s appointment coincides with the arrival of Chris Luke, former producer of Sunset+Vine’s motorsport programming. Luke, as Editorial Director will assume responsibility for overall output for existing productions of Women’s Football, Women’s World Cup qualifiers, CNN Mainsail and Sea Master Sailing.

And in recognition of the fact that the Sunset+Vine|APP business has expanded and diversified in the past 18 months, the company has also appointed Jonathan Edwards as Head of Performance Sailing. Edward’s most recent background is as a producer at the 34th America’s Cup in San Francisco and he will bring that experience and knowledge into Sunset+Vine|APP’s sailing output.

RBS 6 Nations

OBSERVE OUTSIDE BROADCASTING AND SUNSET+VINE APPOINTED HOST BROADCASTER FOR ITALY’S HOME FIXTURES IN THE RBS 6 NATIONS CHAMPIONSHIP.

PARTNERSHIP WILL DELIVER THE VERY BEST IN RUGBY LIVE TV PRODUCTION.

(Dublin / London) Dublin-based Observe Outside Broadcasting and Sunset+Vine, the multi-award winning UK independent TV sports production and media company have confirmed today a new partnership that will produce Italy’s home fixtures during this seasons RBS 6 Nations Championship.

The RBS 6 Nations awarded Host Broadcaster contract covers two matches - Italy vs Scotland on Saturday 22nd February and then the highly anticipated Italy vs England encounter on Saturday 15th March. Both matches will take place at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

In the newly formed collaboration Observe Outside Broadcasting will be responsible for the supply of technical facilities and crew with Sunset+Vine to supply all production personnel including directors, producers and the location management involved in distributing the live match coverage from the Stadio Olimpico across the world.
