Recent New Items for Race Management

Here is a summary of the improvements made to our race management guides. If you are going to be RO and you aren't sure about the duty, please ask for advice. A list of people who regularly sail at Lancing is pinned in the racebox and the foyer.

  • No one minute rule after a general recall
  • Please alternate use of the 2 RIBs
  • Mains power supply in race box
  • Note equipment in dry bags on Safety Boat
  • Evaluate / comment on performance of radios in plastic covers

Course when kitesurfers are out:

If the beat is likely to be near Beach Green and the kitesurfers are out, then set the Northerly Wind Port hand course (NW course, windward mark close to the club).

If you would like help or advice, ask one of the mentors: see list on notice board in the race box. Don't panic – use the don't panic sheet.

RACE OFFICER and TEAM - HELP ON THE DAY

If on the day of your duty you need any advice on course-laying, timings, limit mark, start line setting etc, please seek advice from our Mentor Group, i.e. ask anyone on Sailing Committee or one of the experienced sailors listed on the notice board in the Race Box. If you are at sea, please ask one of the sailors on the water.

There is also a Don't Panic sheet to help with on shore panics.
