Sunday, September 15, 2013, saw 16 new Assemblies of God churches launch in the United States, ranging from the Midwest through the East Coast, with thousands attending and many of the churches reporting individuals making personal decisions to accept Christ as their Savior.

According to the AG Church Multiplication Network report on the launch weekend, in total, 3,499 people attended one of the 16 new churches and 185 personal decisions for Christ were made.  New churches were established in the states of Pennsylvania, Ohio, Texas, Virginia, Missouri, Vermont, New York, Florida and Minnesota.

Aaron Burke of the new Radiant Church in Tampa, Florida, saw 348 people at its opening service. He says that a woman whose husband had committed suicide just four weeks ago, came to the service. "She was broken and needed God," Burke recalls. "She got prayer from multiple team members and left encouraged in her walk with the Lord. She said she is excited about coming back."

The new Relevant Church plant in Plymouth, Minnesota, led by Justin Petrali, saw 364 people attending its first church service. "Somebody who has never been to church before said it was awesome," says Petrali. "(He said) if he had a million dollars he would buy us a building because we're going to do great things!"

Kyle Hammond of the newly launch Adventure Church in Lewis Center, Ohio, explains that the entire experience of launching the church has ministered to him personally. "I once again was reminded of the awesome privilege it is to plant a church and to pastor people," he says.

"It's exciting to see new churches launch and make immediate impacts upon lives," says Steve Pike, director of the Church Multiplication Network. "And the need for additional churches is only growing!"

The Church Multiplication Network, which works with AG Trust to see new AG churches planted, has seen an increase in church plantings over the past several years as a result of a focused effort on church planting in the AG. Last year, 391 new AG churches were opened — marking five years of increasing numbers of church plants.
