Fair Oak and Horton Heath Street Pastors have been out on the streets every Friday night, 8pm to 1am, from 8th February 2008 to date. We go out in teams of a minimum of four and a maximum of 6 and split into 2’s or 3’s.

We walk the streets and cover our local area. We go everywhere from the skate park to the cemetery. We chat with youths and older people, individuals and large groups, some of whom are the worse for wear with alcohol and drugs. We also chat with people standing outside pubs and restaurants having cigarettes.

We have had some extremely quiet nights, mostly when the temperature has dropped below zero. We have had some really busy nights when we feel if we had not been there life would have been taken. Also everything in between.

God always has at least one appointment for us and invariably more. We never go out onto the streets with the purpose of preaching the gospel, however, we invariably get asked about our faith and many sack loads of seeds have been planted.
