| Using IDC with a serial GPS question: My laptop/PC only has USB ports can I use my serial GPS with IDC? |
Answer: Yes, but you will probably need to use a USB to Serial Adapter to connect the GPS via a USB port. Some manufacturers of GPS units allow interfacing to their unit via USB set up as a Virtual COM port (the manufacturers drivers might have to be installed). The software also has provision to connect to a Garmin Unit via USB port.
