'Sailing with the Wounded' raising funds for 'Toe in the Water'

Treasure hunt and BBQ event in the Solent

If you’re interested in assisting Britain’s bravest recover from their profound and traumatic injuries, often including the loss of limbs, then ‘Sailing with the Wounded’ is the event for you.

Taking place in the Solent on Saturday 22 September ‘Sailing with the Wounded’ is a boating treasure hunt, followed by beach BBQ on the Isle of Wight aimed at raising money for tri-service charity ‘Toe in the Water’ which does so much valuable work to help recovering service personnel move beyond their disability and become inspired by life again by delivering competition sailing opportunities.

Show your support for our soldiers, sailors and airmen

The ‘Sailing with the Wounded’ event will see many of the recovering service personnel sailing alongside event participants and is a great way to show your appreciation for the work and sacrifices our soldiers, sailors and airmen make on our behalf.

The event includes:

  • A Solent treasure hunt
  • Beach barbeque at Priory Bay, (transit from/to anchorage included)
  • Beach games and competitions (predominantly for kids but if there’s an inner child in you....)
  • Event prize-giving, (various individual, boat and club categories)

Boats flying the event burgees will leave from Portsmouth Harbour mid-morning on the Saturday in what promises to be a fun day out for all ages.

A fun challenge for all

“This event is designed to be a fun challenge and a great opportunity for owners of yachts, motorboats, Ribs and other vessels to participate in a great treasure hunt on the water and delicious beach BBQ on land”, commented Toe in the Water Director, Tanya Brookfield.
