'Push the Boat Out' day 21 July 2012

Let's get as many boats as we can out on the water on 'Push the Boat Out' day and create an amazing spectacle!

Find out where you can join in on Push the Boat Out day by using our Sail for Gold map.  Alternatively, why not organise something at your club, centre or marina and take part in the celebrations.

Showcase our wonderful sport to the nation

The RYA 'Push the Boat Out' day will be a fantastic opportunity to showcase sailing to the nation and show our support for our Olympic and Paralympic sailors prior to the London 2012 Games. It's a great way to have fun on and off the water.  Dress your club, centre or marina and your boats with bunting and make a real occasion of it.

Wish the British Sailing Team 'Good Luck'!

'Push the Boat Out' day is the Saturday before the start of the London 2012 Games and it would be great to give the British Sailing Team a wonderful send off, waving flags and wishing them 'good luck' on 'Push the Boat Out' day.  Remember to take lots of photos on the day so you can share them on the Sail for Gold Facebook page and we can put them in our photo gallery.  We will send all your 'good luck' photos and messages to the British Sailing Team so they can see who has been taking part in 'Push the Boat Out' day.

What will you do on 'Push the Boat Out' day?

Events on the water could include cruiser rallies, treasure hunts, dinghy pursuit races, a club sail past and so on. Just encourage as many of your club members as possible to get out on the water on Saturday 21 July. It will certainly be a day to remember!  Please see our online event pack for more details.

Please remember, when planning your Push the Boat Out event to ensure that you inform your Local Harbour Authority about your event and as always make sure you have appropriate safety cover for the day.

Sail for Gold balls and parties

To finish the day off why not hold your own Sail for Gold ball or party at your club or training centre? It could be your own club Sail for Gold black tie ball, a gold themed BBQ, hog roast, disco, the list is endless.

National and local press coverage

We are planning to have national and local media coverage for what promises to be a fantastic day with boats covering the water around our coast, rivers, lakes and canals. Why not tell us what you are planning and we can help you publicise your event on our Sail for Gold website?

Please complete the form and your 'Push the Boat Out' event will be included on our Sail For Gold map of events being held around the UK.
