How IVR Works
IVR systems can differ in complexity, but essentially all IVR systems operate in the same manner. A caller uses either their key pad or voice to enter data, typically to make a payment or order a service. By making use of an automated platform, your business can reduce or even remove the need for an expensive call centre operation, and the security and PCI-DSS compliance issues that this brings.

More complex and advanced IVR systems will bring into play more sophisticated voice/speech recognition, and if required an organisation can even utilise text-to-speech (TTS) to fully automate its outgoing messages. The latter software does not rely on recording a range of possible responses to a customers query, but instead generates customised text responses and is able to read it back to the customer using an automated voice.
