Welcome to Oxford Sailing Club

For club members, there are pages dedicated to racing, events, duties and the clubhouse.

For beginners, there is detailed infomation on how to get into watersports, what training courses are on offer, and how to progress. Click here to find where we are located.

We hope you enjoy looking through our site and look forward to seeing you on the water this year!

  • Open Day - Monday 7th May

Come and try sailing and windsurfing at Oxford Sailing Club!

We are holding our annual Open Day on Bank Holiday Monday - 7th May, from 10.00am to 4.00pm.

You can try out our range of sailing dinghies and windsurfing kit with our qualified, friendly instructors and club members.

Wetsuits and buoyancy aids are provided although if you wish to sail a dinghy you should wear something you don't mind getting wet in!

It is all free and you can find out how to join the club, and can sign up for our sailing, windsurfing and powerboating courses on the day.

For more information, call the office on 01865 863201.

Members - if you can volunteer to helm a boat for a couple of hours - please call the office.

  • Locking-up times

Will all members please note that Thames Water have changed the time they lock the gates.

From now until 26th May, the gates will be locked at 7.30pm and not unlocked until 8.00am.

As leaseholders, club members are entitled to come and go as they please, but we are responsible for locking and unlocking the gates outside these core hours.

Please make sure you are aware of the opening and closing times, and that you are able to leave by 7.30pm. If you are attending an event, club racing etc. please make sure there is a committee member available who has a key to the gate. Please also remember to lock the gate after you -- there are two padlocks which must be intertwined so either can unlock the chain.

    Many thanks

    Chris Burrows - Commodore.

  • The Old Swan & Minster Mill

Set in 65 acres of idyllic Cotswold countryside, the Old Swan & Minster Mill, a de Savary property, is situated in the picturesque village of Minster Lovell, set on over a mile of the River Windrush. The hotel is uniquely located on two sites next door to each other, the 17th century mill is a sympathetic restoration of original Cotswold buildings, whilst the adjoining 16th century Old Swan was the original coaching inn.

Recently benefitting from a complete restoration programme, the Old Swan offers luxurious furnishings, complemented by superb dining.

Guests can enjoy a number of activities including fly-fishing on the Windrush, tennis, boules, badminton and cycling and horse-riding and golf can also be arranged. There are also a number of activities for children including a children’s petting farm.
