Learn to Windsurf

Learn to windsurf at Farmoor and you will be introduced to a sport that can be enjoyed at all levels at all ages. Farmoor Reservoir is one of the best inland waters in the South of England and home of Oxford Sailing Club.

Oxford Sailing Club is recognised by the Royal Yachting Association as a Teaching Establishment, which means that you can be confident that the standard of tuition and equipment will be excellent.

Equipment

We provide buoyancy aids, wetsuits, logbook and a beginners Handbook. Full details will be sent with your joining instructions.

On the shore

There is a modern shoreside teaching facility with video and visual aids as well as sailing simulators. The clubhouse overlooks the water, with heated changing rooms, hot showers and vending machines for snacks. There is extensive free parking and a children's play area.

On the water

sailing takes place on the 380 acres of Farmoor, an elevated reservoir with a purpose built beach for easy launching and recovery. The club has metre wide Starboards and the Hi Fly wide style boards, with various configurations to suit the wind conditions and your ability.

Many students go on to join Oxford Sailing Club and enjoy sailing the year round. However, this is not essential as there is a good choice of sailing clubs in the area, each with a different feel. There is bound to be one to suit you once you can sail.
