VA - 1988 SUMMER OLYMIPICS ALBUM-ONE MOMENT IN TIME tape

Well, just a day off having just heard mention of the 2024 Summer Olympics yesterday, here is a classic compilation from 1988.  Features:  John Williams, Whitney Houston, The Bunburys, Four Tops, Eric Carmen, Odds & Ends, Bee Gees, Jennifer Holiday, Taylor Dayne, Jermaine Jackson & La La, Kashif and The Christians which features Ronald Isley singing the old classic 'Harvest For The World.'  I think that song's dream is closer these days now that we know:  1) Glucose burning produces much more energy than keto fat burning and the new enemy in foods is omega 6/PUFA/MUFA's which takes 7 years to leave the system and in the process gums up the cells energy production such that it must burn lower energy fats which is the cancer metabolism from damaged cells.  New limits of 5 mg max. per day (as we  need some) PUFA/MUFA's means no more nuts or grain-fed chicken and pork.  Also,, with less minerals and nutrients in the soil these days, you really have to avoid gluten foods all together since the long chain prevents digestion in the stomach and pulls with it the few minerals we could have absorbed with gluten-free organic bread which I now use. 2) With Morley Robbin's book "the Copper Cure" I was able to lower my blood pressure in 3 months after getting kicked out from the dentist.  You see, fertilizers block the copper in food leading to iron dis-regulation which makes us rust from the inside out as iron free radicals plug up the cells and doctors are clueless to measure this.  Only way to get rid of this extra iron is to give blood a few times a year (about 250 mg each time but you store 1 mg per day automatically) and follow Morley's RCP protocol which I have done for 2 years and loaded with energy.  Yeah, eggs must be free range with dark orange color and be vegetarian-fed like pork.

MEL BROOKS, JOHN MORRIS - GREATEST HITS LP 78

A true classic compilation not as common in the wild these days for our weekly comedy album.  Mostly music like Madeline Kahn's 'I'm Tired" from Blazing Saddles or "Puttin' On The Ritz' with the monster's wails so funny from Young Frankenstein.  But yes, Mel himself is featured such as the handy classic, "Springtime For Hitler" from The Producers.  Enjoy!  It's for you.

THE HOLLIES - Greatest Hits CD 73 w The EP Collection CD 87 w HOLLIES LPL 73 74

Though I've posted many of their songs on past compilation this is a first for the band here.  This captures all the songs I wanted like 'Bus Stop', "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother", "The Air That I Breathe" and needed this one and got it at youtube, "Long Cool Woman (In A Black Dress).  Per Discogs:  The Hollies are an English pop group formed in Manchester in the early 1960s. Most of the band members are from throughout East Lancashire. Known for their distinctive vocal harmony style, they became one of the leading British groups of the 1960s and early-1970s. They enjoyed considerable popularity in many countries, although they did not achieve major US chart success until 1966. Along with the Rolling Stones, they are one of the few British pop groups of the early 1960s that have never officially broken up and that continue to record and perform. The Hollies were inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010.

GLADYS KNIGHT AND THE PIPS - Nitty Gritty LP 69 w Neither One Of Us LP 73 w I Feel A Song LP 74 w Superpak 2LP 74 w Still Together LP 77 w Pipe Dreams LP 76 w Imagination LP 73 w 2nd Anniversary LP 75

REPOST and ADD ON:  Added the dollar double vinyl on bottom that was all mouldy but some great old old songs on it.  What I wrote before:  Features two songs that were on the old 'Back In The Days Of Soul' radio show playlist:  Neither One Of Us (Wants To Be The First To Say Goodbye) and Who Is She (And What Is She To You).  However, one of my favorite regular songs from that radio show playlist is 'The Nitty Gitty' (!!!) which I was happy to find the other day.  A top notch band and leader!!!  And now we can add 'Midnight Train To Georgia' to the old radio playlist.

REPOST Request:  Going to just show the vinyl I have posted in the past.  I filled in a little from youtube but the big addition is their debut from 1976 (of all the years for a USA legendary band debut) which I wore out the tape on my walkman back in the day and had got the CD reissue with bonus tracks years ago that I had not converted yet.  Also my punker friend in high school had taped me their 'Too Tough To Die" back in 1984 when it came out along with on the flipside the  J.F.A. "Untitled" album also from that great hardcore year 1984 (both bands top of their game!!!!) on the other side so I used that since I always liked the sound from his stereo on my walkman and posted J.F.A. right above.  I missed my 'Bonzo Goes To Bitburg" 7 inch but will get to it in time as that is a favorite as well.  What is really magic are the two live albums from old blogs!  Much needed out in the blogsphere!

Also some sad news as The Chills founder Martin Phillipps passed away at 61.  I have too much to organize this morning for this weeks post so will post a tribute next week.  Here is the article:  MARTIN PHILLIPPS

JIMMY HALL - Touch You LP 80 w Cadillac Tracks LP 82

This one for GABE...a BIG THANKS for making me aware of these two albums from the Wet Willie singer and indeed they deserve to be heard fresh from vinyl.  Thanks to D and Jon for sending in rips to help but as Gabe mentioned those were speeded up copies others have been circulating on the web for ages.  I think my rip went well but do leave feedback as they are "keepers" for me and I can try again since the vinyl is between mint and VG+.   Some great song lyrics and singin' for sure!!!
