Radiohead & Alice Coltrane.

I heard that Dollars & Cents is an Alice Coltrane inspired track, and that MPS tries to emulate some sounds Alice made. I was looking through a few shows, and found that Radiohead opened with a little excerpt from one of her songs, twice!
The song is the title track from her album "Journey In Satchidananda".
Show 1
Show 2
I thought this was awesome, and I was wondering if there were any other shows that opened with this very same song. Are there? Why did they open with it & have they mentioned this before? I thought I'd share this because it was cool. (Sorry if my post is stupid or something non-sequitur)

Not only am I obsessed with the original score by John Medeski, this show brought me to Alice Coltrane. I bought Kirtan: Turiya Sings LP this week and listened to it this morning at work after walking through a snow storm; then I came home and watched the finale... it's been a day lol.

The use of Alice's music is so important to the show and it compliments the Medeski score. I think without this the show lessens even though it's brilliant. I am forever grateful for this show I introducing me to Alice.

Medeski Version of Alice Coltrane Songs?

I've been listening to the original songs but I'm wondering if anyone has found the synth-augmented versions anywhere, especially without the dialogue and sound from the show. Do these exist anywhere?

Alice Coltrane - The Carnegie Hall Concert. Wow.

I had totally forgot this album was releasing today, so when it came up when I opened Spotify on my bus to school, I freaked out for a minute and put it on. All 80 minutes of this record are pure beauty. Opening with Journey In Satchinadanda and Shiva-Loka, then exploding into Africa. My God, this recording of Africa is insane! Pharoah Sanders and Archie Shepp blow it out of the water on this record, along with the two drummers. Then there’s Leo, one of my all time favorites, and it is just done sooooo well here. There are a few really insignificant blemishes on the recording, Shiva-Loka goes in and out a little bit, but it is more than listenable. Honestly this album is 10/10 for me.
