Wow, can't believe how mild the reactions are so far. Hopefully, that doesn't mean the vaccine isn't as powerful! With a sore arm sounds like you got the actual vax, not the placebo.

    [–]Accomplished-Ice6063 8 points9 points  (2 children)

Plenty of people in placebo controlled trials have had sore arms to find out they in fact, had the placebo.

    [–]JackThcAcc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

More info to dispell the 'placebo wont ache' thing. I stick IM jabs for HRT n sometimes have to reshoot post a failed spot; def the soreness can come from just a needle going into a muscle. The soreness also can come from capillaries bursting or the volume of a shot, esp with carrier oils rather than aqueous solutions, which then cause a muscle tear. Ive had a .5ml shot open a muscle tear on my thigh the length n width of my little finger n put me on crutches for a week due to the swelling. Wasn't the guage size that did that, it was the volume + capillary issues, so a placebo volume n unlucky placement can give you a soreness way beyond what any vaccine can give technically. :)

True, shots of anything can hurt for a couple days. I'm hoping since they offered crossover to participants by now most all have gotten the real vaccine.

    [–]CDClock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

rxns to the other vaccines are generally pretty mild too

    [–]orchid_bark[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh that’s good to hear. How long after the 2 shot did you have the booster?

They wouldn't know if it's the trial.

      [–]foxyjazz 12 points13 points  (1 child)

I am in the US trial. They switched last year from placebo-controlled to a blinded crossover format, where everyone got four shots total, two vaccine and two placebo (and now a fifth shot, for the booster). We got a round of two shots, three weeks apart, and then another round three months later. We stayed blinded through that process, so you didn't know when you got the vaccine, but you did know in the aggregate of four shots that you were definitely vaccinated. The booster portion was not placebo-controlled, so we know we got the real thing then.

May I ask how you got into the study? Everywhere I searched it said no longer recruiting…

              [–]GlobalEnergetix 2 points3 points  (1 child)

All OK, so far. Apart from a fever on day 2. Second shot on 21st. Correct choice I think. Cheers

Study participant. 1st dose: no reaction, just injection site soreness. 2nd dose and booster: soreness, fever and malaise for 24 hours.

                  [–]orchid_bark[S] 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Thanks for sharing. I guess i’m not out of the woods yet.

Yeah maybe not yet, but have some ibuprofen on hand and plan to take it easy the day after, and it’ll be fine. You got this. And congrats on your first jab!

There’s some inherent survivorship bias - if you died you’d have a hard time reporting it here

                  [–]orchid_bark[S] 3 points4 points  (2 children)

I’m sure someone else can report on your behalf.

I haven't heard about even one death from Novavax.

                  Unlike the gene therapy "vaccines".

                  [–]anon102938475611 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven’t either, was being facetious

                  [–]eyebeefa 1 point2 points  (12 children)

mRNA vaccines are not gene therapy and don’t need quotes around the word, grow up

                  [–]No_Environment3476 5 points6 points  (11 children)

Yes they are gene therapy lol

                  [–]anon102938475611 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Especially if given by someone named Gene

                  [–]Iratus_Ignis 2 points3 points  (8 children)

Scientist here, mRNA is not gene therapy because it does not alter your DNA.

feeling fine just sore arm!! but my brother who went with me fainted after his due to being nervous about getting the vaccine - the doctors called it a vasovagal and apparently it’s quite normal sometimes

                  [–]orchid_bark[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Poor guy. Yeh i suffer from vaso vagal too sometimes. Getting a blood test is worse 😆

                  [–]WingsOfReason 0 points1 point  (1 child)

How have things been going since then? Any adverse reactions?

                  [–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Had my first does yesterday 19/2. Slight soreness at injection site. Went back to working on my backyard landscape for 7 hours. No issues, slept well. Hope everyone else has the same experience.

                  [–]orchid_bark[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow you’re a trooper. Surprised you didn’t have a dead arm in the night 😆

                  [–]Ravvvvvskie 7 points8 points  (3 children)

First injection I had zero side effects on the first day. Second day towards the late afternoon/evening I developed a headache and ran a fever for a few hours. When I awoke the following morning I was OK and have been OK since. I have been exercising as normal (30km Ride, 60m Walk and 60m Weight Training per day) with no ill effects.

                  [–]orchid_bark[S] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

You are very welcome! I will update my post when I receive my second dose.

I am looking forward to getting this vaccine!! I am in the US.

My first two doses were Moderna and each time I had high fever and was incapacitated for several days. My booster with Pfizer was surprisingly normal. I am not going back to either one though for my next booster booster.

                  [–]orchid_bark[S] 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Oh wow. That’s terrible. This is probably the main reason why i didn’t want an mrna vaccine. I hope you can have novavax as a booster. Novavax hasn’t even applied for booster approval here yet, so who knows if we will even be able to get a third dose 😩.

                  [–]Total-Astronaut268 2 points3 points  (2 children)

True, might be a while before i can get it. The company needs to get its s*** together and do it asap but that's a whole different topic :).

No one stopping me from getting it as my "initial" dose though.

                  [–]orchid_bark[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Oh do they not keep records of what you’ve had? We wouldn’t be able to do that here. They keep records of all our shots.

                  [–]NataliaNatalka 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Why do you want another vaccine? Why are you looking forward? I definitelly don´t recommend it. It is experimental and not proven to be safe. Potentially quite harmful.

                  [–]Aldakos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

cause people can be scared like sheep? they rather inject stuff that were promised to work but now need 4-5 times booster doses... let them be. they wanna inject it up their nostrils as well let them do it. I am done trying to prove to people they have been tricked. NOTHING from anything they (the "scientists") promised is true as its proven in the end.

                  [–]floatingpatterns -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Next... booster? Surely what you've had is enough. Don't risk the body like that perhaps IMO

                  How you doing, OP?

                  [–]Someonefromoz22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have had the breathlessness last night, my pulse shot up and I felt lightheaded. I took a valerian supplement and thankfully it subsided fairly quickly. Hope you’re okay

Could be an allergic reaction? It’s possible.

                  [–]orchid_bark[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no. I’m sorry you’ve had such a reaction. You should probably see your Dr and get checked out.

I am pretty sure you guys had a mild anxiety attack

                  [–]Much-World-4405 1 point2 points  (1 child)

This sounds a little longer lasting than an anxiety attack…

                  [–]Aldakos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

                  Really? Mine was 8-9 months

                  [–]Melb1965 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Hi, I had this with Pzfier lasted 3 months till I took myself to hospital. Myocarditis (spelling sorry) and my lung function went to 33%.

PLEASE get some help and proper tests. I can so relate except for the burning.

Took medication to reset my immune system - anaphylaxis style reaction.

I had Pzfier as my first dose. Specialist said I can only have Novavax and now reading your reaction - my anxiety has gone up again ! DAMM ! I have been searching for adverse reactions as I am sure they are out there not documented. Thank you for sharing.

                  [–]Anon_Teacher11 5 points6 points  (8 children)

I had my 1st dose yesterday, no side effects other than a mildly sore arm. The needle also stung going in and for about 10 minutes after.

Edit: I forgot that I did have slight breathlessness around 30 minutes after, which was on and off for a few hours, although it could have been anxiety related. My partner also had his 1st dose yesterday and barely a sore arm. Both under 25.

                  [–]orchid_bark[S] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Thanks for sharing. The breathlessness thing sounds abit scary. Glad it was only for a short period.

                  [–]sereza1 1 point2 points  (4 children)

please let us know how you're doing and keep us updated if you get anymore weird side effects! (hopefully you dont)

                  [–]Anon_Teacher11 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Hi! It's now 3 days post vax and no more side effects other than what I mentioned. I still think the breathlessness was probably more related to anxiety that I was having after the shot, but I will know for sure after my 2nd shot.

                  [–]dyingtotravel 4 points5 points  (19 children)

Here's an update as I got people asking me for updates online:

Thank you so much for the update. I am sorry you’re going through such a rough time with your breathing. That’s incredibly unsettling. I hope your blood tests come back normal. Please stay well. Hope all is resolved soon.

In Seoul in the mapo area. it's been exactly 2 weeks now woke up after 2 hours of sleep due to chest/breathing issues. I'm going to skip the 2nd shot

                    [–]orchid_bark[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow. That’s awful. I guess it’s a good thing that they can’t find anything so far, but im sure it’s frustrating. Hopefully bloods are all clear too. Let us know how you go.

Got Novavax on Monday (Melbourne, 6 days ago). Hurt like hell for about 3 minutes afterwards then regular soreness for roughly a day. Experienced hand tingling on the injected side for around 6hrs.. otherwise no other symptoms for 2 days.

Day 3 I just had a bit of a headache, enough to warrant Panadol (I rarely ever get headaches).

Days 4-6 I’ve felt like shit. Lethargic, troubles sleeping, short of breath, muscle aches and pains. You know that feeling where you just feel ‘off’? Like, you can feel discomfort in the back of your sinuses and throat but it doesn’t lead anywhere? Hoping it’ll all go soon, I was looking forward to being side effect free 😕

                    [–]Someonefromoz22 3 points4 points  (3 children)

You’re describing my exact symptoms, I am day 12, and had these symptoms since about day 2-3. I tested today just to see if I have covid because I couldn’t work out else it could be. My headaches feel like they’re in my sinuses and a pressure. I have also had the hand tingling, still happening on and off, and my injection also hurt like hell immediately afterwards. I hope this goes away soon. I feel like I’m carrying my own dead body around when doing simply things, I’ve never felt this lethargic in my life.

                    [–]LostWandererer 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Aw dude that sucks, feeling like garbage hey. Like a cold that’s coming on but doesn’t progress to full blown, but still makes you feel like ass. My injection site turned into a very itchy bump yesterday, today I woke up and my shoulder was killing me.. and I have what looks like an abscess starting on my upper gum. Tingling is coming and going too. And it’s ALL ONLY on the injected side. Here we are waiting 9 months for Nova.. now wondering if may as well have gotten the Pfizer 🙄 (and whether to go to that second jab which apparently gives worse symptoms 😣)

…or.. if the Nova is this bad how much worse Pfizer would have been. So hard to know. Keep us updated on how you go, I hope it goes away soon.

                    [–]WingsOfReason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hoping that you feel better soon, be sure to keep us posted on how things go. Have the previous symptoms resolved before these new ones? And with the shortness of breath, is/was the severity more of a "I feel a bit winded" or more of a "I CAN'T BREATHE"?

                    [–]orchid_bark[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no. That’s awful. So sorry you got the rough end of side effects. Please see your GP if it doesn’t shake off over the next few days. Let us know how you go.

                    [–]Tanaghia_85 3 points4 points  (5 children)

Can you please tell me where you had your vaccine? I’m in Perth and am yet to find a location that has stock available yet…

                    [–]orchid_bark[S] 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Ah i got mine at Kings Park pharmacy. You can book online on that rollupwa site, but you will have to book under a different vaccine as they havn’t added Novavax on the system. You can just tell them, when you get there, you want Novavax. They may have some vacancies today. It was quiet this morning. Better yet, just give them a call.

                    [–]Tanaghia_85 4 points5 points  (0 children)

                    Thanks

I've booked for this Sunday at Cedric Street Pharmacy. There were lots of appointments available online from Sunday onwards.

                    [–]ma_tt22v14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i got my first novavax jab earlier today at Fremantle Pharmacy, 82B high road, freo. Would highly recommend Pharmacist Joanne, who was so friendly and also aspirated the jab for me. Can book via call or walk-ins.

                    [–]Someonefromoz22 3 points4 points  (13 children)

I had mine just over 24hrs ago, 31F - healthy, with no underlying conditions. Have not had covid prior. Had an uneventful night, felt slightly flushed but not enough to worry about it, though I did take one Advil. No headaches/tenderness/malaise etc. Today, I feel a little bit strange, mild aches across back and chest. Trying to ignore it as I do have health anxiety and anxiety in general. Got mine done in Melbourne.

                    [–]orchid_bark[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing. I sometimes get sharp pains in my body when i’m coming down with something, so could be your immune system working?

                    [–]placeholderfornow1 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Hey Melbourne buddy haha. Thanks so much for sharing. I'm similar age, similar situation. Anxiousness causes chest pain and back pain for me too. I haven't had nova yet but I want to. Would you be able to check back in to continue let us know how you feel? I would be so grateful, thanks

                    [–]Someonefromoz22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s true, so I’m trying to keep myself busy and not focus on it. In the grand scheme of things, you could say I have zero side effects. I will keep everyone posted as I’m also curious to see how this plays out.

                    [–]Much-World-4405 2 points3 points  (7 children)

How did you go? Feeling better?

                    [–]Someonefromoz22 2 points3 points  (6 children)

Felt fine the first day/night, the second and third day I was exhausted and slept 12hrs. I also have intermittent pains across my body. Today is day 4. Thank you for asking :)

                    [–]sereza1 1 point2 points  (5 children)

what type of pains? just general achiness like when you have a cold/fever or something else?

                    [–]Someonefromoz22 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Sharp, stabby pains across my chest, back and shoulder blades mostly, but also occurring in legs and head. I have had the flu before and didn’t have pains, so I’m not sure if what I’m describing is typical body aches for others. It just feels odd to me and I’m trying to soldier through it. I do have mild neutropenia which may make my immune system more sensitive, ironically my partner has just had covid (he’s double vaxxed) and I was totally fine and didn’t catch it at all (being unvaxxed), but this vax has me on the couch for two days like a corpse.

                    [–]sereza1 2 points3 points  (3 children)

how are you feeling? do you still have the pains and have you asked your dr about them?

                    [–]ma_tt22v14 3 points4 points  (2 children)

had my first novavax jab earlier today (pharmacist Joanne at Fremantle Pharmacy (82B high road, fremantle) kindly aspirated the jab for me. finished 1 litre of coconut water during before and after the jab and also took 1 panadol. havent noticed any side effect so far (of course i havent been doing (and dont plan to do) any heavy work (especially on jabbed arm) for few days and just relax. take care all!

                    [–]orchid_bark[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

                    Thanks for sharing 😊

                    [–]Someonefromoz22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is the significance of coconut water? Just curious

                    [–]Someonefromoz22 3 points4 points  (14 children)

Day 5 post vax and feeling like absolute shit. My head is aching on one side only, I can feel it throbbing when I palpate my scalp, heart rate is 92 (normally 60) and I am starting to feel concerned. At this rate, I will rethink my second jab, or leave it much longer than 3 weeks. This is awful :(

                    [–]orchid_bark[S] 4 points5 points  (10 children)

Oh that sounds awful. Have you been feeling terrible since day 1 of the jab? Please make sure you get checked out by you doctor.

                    [–]louie_hadfield 3 points4 points  (4 children)

I'm on day 5 after getting my first dose of Novavax. Like a lot of you I am highly sceptical of these vaccines, but due to the increased pressure with work I was left with very few options. I have been keeping my eye on Novavax since December of 2021 so was fairly well researched in it prior to it's arrival.
First couple of days I felt a bit rundown and had quite a bit of brain fog, but entering into day 5 I'm feeling much better with no sore arm and very mild fatigue.
I did take a lot of precautions with supplements to help boost my immune system. I can safely say that this has helped me recover from the first dose extremely well. These include Vitamin C, Zinc, NAC and Quercetin.

                    [–]orchid_bark[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

That’s good to hear. Will you need to get a booster also to be able to go back to work?

                    [–]FarronFox 2 points3 points  (5 children)

Ok it's been 24 hours now since I had mine in Melbourne Australia and I don't really feel that different to what I what I was beforehand.

People talk about sore arms or headaches and such but no, don't have that. I hardly even noticed I was getting the jab. Didn't feel much of anything at the time.

With the talk of getting sore arms I'm concerned of applying pressure to my arm so tried to avoid sleeping on it in the night (I had the shot in my right arm, but should have got it in my left as I usually sleep on my right).

                    [–]orchid_bark[S] 2 points3 points  (4 children)

Good to hear. Maybe the “not applying pressure” on your arm worked. I had a sore arm last night and had to sleep on my right side. I’m sure the sore arm thing was exacerbated by having to pick up and put down a baby all day long 😩

                    [–]sluggish_geranium 2 points3 points  (5 children)

24 hours after my dose, which is actually the second dose in my schedule (had Pfizer first). Feeling: a bit fatigued so far.

                    [–]orchid_bark[S] 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Hope you feel better soon. Did you have a bad reaction to your pfizer dose?

                    [–]sluggish_geranium 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Yup, balance issues and brain fog that lasted for about 2.5 months. Felt like an extended allergic reaction or something - figured it'd make more sense to try something else to try to avoid the issue in the future. Most people who have similar issues actually seem to eventually recover fine, but it's a major drag to have to wait months for something like that to clear up so I'd like to avoid it (people have reported similar issues that cleared up after ~8 months...).

I don't think many people have had Pfizer + Novavax, so I'm a bit of an experiment!

                    [–]orchid_bark[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh wow. Yeh for sure. Just because it’s not a permanent issue doesn’t mean it doesn’t effect your quality of living for the time period that you have it. It’s disappointing that people with adverse reactions get gaslighted with “but it’s only temporary”.

                    [–]properac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any updates on how you are feeling? I am also getting the novavax for my second jab but have had one jab of Pfizer previously. An update would be awesome!

Yeh sleep is good. Im envious 😆 yep the weather hasn’t been helpful. I had abit of a headache also after the shot but i also think it was because it was a 38 degree day 😂 so happy for you now that you can go out. Maybe just avoid the massage parlours for now 😆

If anyone gets Costochondritis issues from Nova, please drop me a line. Esp if you have Fibromyalgia or Primary Hypogonadism. Cheers!

Hi, I am wondering how you are going after the vaccine? I got Pericarditis from Pfizer and am watching closely how Novavax is affecting people. Thanks

                      [–]orchid_bark[S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Hey there. I’m doing fine. I only had sore arm for a couple of days after the first shot and that was it. Im due my 2nd shot in a few days. I’ll update my post once i get it. I’m so sorry you had a bad reaction to Pfizer. It seems alot of people have had quite strong reactions to the mRNA vaccines, hence the reason i wanted to wait for Novavax.

                      [–]EmmaRushoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Hope all goes well with the second.

                      [–]Realistic-Campaign80 2 points3 points  (8 children)

Any idea as to the long term effects? Like how Pfizer and Moderna are having massive increases in blood clots and now the MSM is saying that doing just about anything will give you a heart attack. Or how the effectiveness shot way down and now people are getting a form of Aids because their immune systems have been destroyed by the mRNA shots. That will probably anger the mods but there are tons of reports and medical journals showing it

Soreness is to be expected but it's the other things that concern me.

                      [–]orchid_bark[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry i don’t believe there are any long term studies on Novavax yet. I wouldn’t even consider studies on mRNA vaccines to be long term either (no idea what is considered “long term” in the medical field though). If there are any journal articles/studies that show mRNA vaccines cause AIDS/blood clots, i would like to see them. Unfortunately news articles and blogs are not a reliable source.

                      [–]Sophie919 2 points3 points  (4 children)

Can you please like me the form of aids article please, that’s terrifying

                      [–]Realistic-Campaign80 -1 points0 points  (3 children)

There are tons of articles of you search covid-19 vaccine and aids. All aids is, is autoimmune deficiency syndrome. Israel had releases about how people were having an -81% response in their immune system. That is not down by 81%, they literally mean NEGATIVE 81%.

You also have people like prince Harry telling people to get their free at home HIV/AIDS tests.

                      [–]hylanderrrr 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t want to sound condescending, but if you’re making a claim, especially one as serious as this, it is your responsibility to provide evidence. It is not the other person’s job to do the searching. Please provide the source you are citing so we can make an informed decision based on the same evidence.

                      [–]sluggish_geranium 4 points5 points  (0 children)

bullshit. People here are hypochondriacs waiting Novavax, but that doesn't mean we accept a website like 'vaccine deaths.com'.

                      [–]Glum-Slide614 1 point2 points  (8 children)

I have waiting for novavax, I hope this is indeed different and doesn’t cause the issues which are associated with the mRNA vaccines. Already though some doctors are saying it still produces spikes which potentially cause alzheimers? What can you believe these days?

Thanks for this information, what about the involvement of moths and a substance from a tree which acts as an irritant? A few doctors are saying it can cause mad cow’s disease! I lost my job by refusing the other vaccines so I am very cautious!

                        [–]Glum-Slide614 1 point2 points  (0 children)

                        Thank you

                        [–]Glum-Slide614 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I believe Dr McCullough has said it is the preferred vaccine

                        [–]orchid_bark[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I think at the end of the day it’s risk vs benefit. Every vaccine/medication has risks Vs the risk of catching covid (which is far worse in terms of permanent damage). I personally waited for Novavax because cases were not high here previously. I didn’t want the side effects of Pfizer. However if cases were rampant and delta was the main strain, i would have risked the Pfizer and accepted the side effects.

                        [–]Tasty-Profession 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can tell covid is not something I could wish upon my worst enemy from experience.

I was hoping to get this as a booster but cant in Perth yet :/

                        [–]orchid_bark[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. I’ve seen a few others who’ve had other vaccines, also say that they would like Novavax as a booster. Hopefully there is enough demand for Novavax to put an application through.

                        [–]Nassik 1 point2 points  (7 children)

I had my first Novavax injection this past weekend. All I got was soreness at the injection site and I only notice that if I bump my shoulder. Otherwise I've had no reaction. I feel like I usually do and all is normal for me. I figure that the slight shoulder soreness is due to getting jabbed with a needle rather than a reaction to the needle's contents.

                        [–]Tasty-Profession 1 point2 points  (5 children)

                        How are you doing afterwards?

                        [–]Nassik 2 points3 points  (4 children)

Perfect as usual. No reaction at all. All I ever had was a couple of days of shoulder tenderness from getting stabbed with a needle.

                        [–]orchid_bark[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeh. Apparently those in the trial who got the placebo also had sore arm, so most likely the pain is caused by having a needle in your muscles. Glad you didn’t suffer. Hope it’s the same for your second jab.

                        [–]Creative-Comedian264 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is disturbing is that with the omicron variant being the dominant strain. Western governments are still mandating these vaccines. If this comes to light MRNA vaccines should instantly be pulled from the shelves until the report can be verified.

If there is found to be problems with airbags in a brand new car because it can cause damage. They are automatically recalled...

Still alot of questions and data to be verified. We are an experiment.

I'm in northern NSW and got Novavax 3 days ago, I've felt absolutely fine, have had a slight sore arm which is to be expected when getting a needle stuck in it. Day 2 my head felt a little bit fuzzy, and still feel something very subtle although it may just all be in my head.

PLEASE NOTE: I have been taking a low dose of aspirin (100mg) once per day, 3 days prior to the injection, and 3 days following the injection. This is because I have been told it supports the immune system and counteracts the vaccine (I'm not getting the vaccine for protection from covid, I'm getting it for other reasons).

I'm sorry to hear others have been negatively impacted by this vaccine, I hope you all recover swiftly.

Hi :) who told you that aspirin does that? Would love to have a read of that info...as I would like mine to counteract!

I had Novavax on Tuesday in Melbourne. I had a severe case of Delta end of last year so was hospitalised. Tuesday - was fine. Wednesday developed a severe headache in half my head on the side the needle was done on and whilst this has subsided on Thursday it's still there but not as strong (but I am taking painkillers now). Thursday night now I'm feeling a lot of body aches and pains and feeling crap in general. Arm is slightly sore now. I have fibromyalgia so this is a 'norm' but this is an exacerbation of my 'norm'. Hoping this goes away soon.

I have had ongoing chest pain since covid as well but that doesn't seem to have gotten any worse with this. Not my heart as I've had ECG and heart ultrasounds etc. Most likely rib inflammation from the severe pneumonia i got with covid.

I’m so sorry. Sounds like you have been through alot. Did you take the novavax because of your previous experience with covid? I know they say Omicron is mild, but i just fear that im going to be one of the ones who doesn’t get it mild.

I got my first dose 1 week ago today, I had just a sore arm and feeling abit under the weather. The day after I had severe brain fog and felt really confused. That subsided, and day 4 I started getting really sharp pains and pressure in my chest and ribs and feeling really short of breath and feeling like I had to “manually” breathe. I felt pretty nervous about it but was trying to ignore it because I thought it might just be anxiety. I also developed a headache this day. The pains have been coming and going in my chest and I am very nervous about it as I have a history of heart problems and had heart surgery last year but was told this vaccine is the best option for me. I have now had a severe migraine for 3 days with no sign of going away. I feel really sleepy and brain fog. I’m scared to get my second. But I have already been out of a job for months due to getting fired because of the mandates even though I had a medical contraindication. I feel as though I have no choice but to get my second but I’m scared of anymore severe side effects.

Oh no. That sucks. Did you get tested for covid? Symptoms sound very covid like.

                        [–]CaregiverImmediate34 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I had my first shot recently in Australia. Around a day or two after my arm was a little bit sore, almost like a small bruise. But it was around 2 days later I had unexpected symptoms, a small headache and a cough that lasted around 2 days. Woke up with my right nostril full of blood one night (like clumpy blood), but it starting to bleed when I tried to blow it. And on the same days as the other symptoms I had very bad diarrhoea. I’m not 100% sure this was from the Nova Vaccine. Especially since I was fine before and tried to minimise going out in public and being around people. But this could be the result of a minor cold or something I ate that triggered my bowl movements. But please reply if anyone had similar side affects.

Hey there, how have things gone for you since this happened?

                        [–]CaregiverImmediate34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, tbh I’m perfectly fine. I honestly don’t think I’ve had any other side affects yet. But I am about to get my 2nd shot soon.

Wish it would get approved in the US. ugh.

Had my second dose on Monday of Novavax and I started having fever, headache, tiredness the next day which have not gone away, ive just done a rat test which is negative, but overall all I can say is that I feel terrible.

                        [–]PerformanceShort5987 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same experience after the second shot, it felt like a bad flu. slowly improved over a few days, 6 days in now and pretty much back to normal. first shot symptoms were considerably milder compared to second shot.

                        [–]orchid_bark[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had chills, body aches, sharp pains, lethargy after second dose. Pretty much all the symtpoms you would get before a fever. Didn’t end up having a fever though. I was already coming down with something though, so can’t say for sure it was from the vax. Maybe it was a combination of both.

My husband and I got first dose same day (about 3 weeks ago). He had sore arm for two days and that’s it. I’m the unlucky one i guess. I had very sore arm for five days, low grade fever for 10 days, couldn’t breath and had dry cough for almost two weeks. Found out the trouble breathing was from my iron levels tanking after vaccination and oxygen not travelling properly through my body. That is thankfully gone after taking iron pills and changing diet. But my body still doesn’t feel right on the side I got vaccinated. Hoping this goes away but feeling down in the dumps right now.

                        [–]orchid_bark[S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Thanks for sharing. I’m so sorry you are having such a difficult time after your novavax. It seems the luck of the draw on what symptoms you will get. The iron thing is an interesting one. I would never have thought to consider that after a vaccine. I will suggest it to others next time. I hope you are feeling better.

Second Dose, yesterday, very sore arm and panadol to kill the pain. Slight fever, thats all. Stay Safe. Cheers.

Got my second dose of novavax 3 days ago. With the first one absolutly nothing. Tenderness in the arm intensity 2/10. With the second dose, after 12 hours got fever 38.5 C but no feeling sick or body aches nor lethargy. The fever went away after 12 hours and I only have a bit of sore arm no pain. Nothing strange till now. hope it will stay this way

And long term, all of these things? Seems a bit risky and once you're in that's it. It's a shame the worlds like this...

                        [–]orchid_bark[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s shit but it’s either you get long term effects from the vaccine or long term effects from the virus. I guess you choose your poison.

I had novavax a week ago...sore arm, sore throat and runny nose which went away after a few days. Now I just have sore legs!

                        [–]orchid_bark[S] 1 point2 points  (5 children)

Sore legs? That’s different. Hope you feel better soon.

I had my vaccine yesterday, it's been over a day, and I have felt mild nausea, cold sweating, chills in the nigh, now I have malaise, no fever though, feel nausea like I want to throw up, but I can't, usually when I don't get it up I get diarrhea like now, but I was able to exercise for 30 minutes light workout (body moment) went to dentist as well, it somehow mild with waves of unwell, and feeling better. I'll keep this post updated. I had Delta in December, this soo much less than having covid infection, I would prefer this over the sickness.

                        [–]orchid_bark[S] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Thanks for sharing. It sucks that you even had side effects but i’m glad it’s not as bad as your experience with covid. Yes, please keep us up to date.

                        [–]floatingpatterns 0 points1 point  (8 children)

So how are we feeling about Nova now? It's been out a while, but not nearly long enough to be a meaningful guage long term. I'm looking at having to be vax'd for OS travel, very on the fence and almost thinking of not travelling and staying unvaxed. It all feels like one big live experiment for these different brands...

                        [–]orchid_bark[S] 1 point2 points  (5 children)

Honestly i wouldn’t travel whilst there are still restrictions in place. If you catch covid overseas it might ruin your plans. So far most peope have had little no side effects. But then again there are some who have had quite severe effects also. It sucks that you just won’t know how your body reacts until you get it. It just depends on personal preference and what you are willing to risk.

How's everyone going with Novavax, have there been any adverse experiences?

                        [–]Tasty-Profession 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I got my vaccine 7 days ago, feeling good, back to exercising, and no more side effects.

                        [–]padst3r 0 points1 point  (3 children)

My partner had first dose, no issues not even a sore arm. Second dose, high fever 39c laying in bed all of day 1. I'm not sure why anyone would get a vaccine if they're healthy and under 60 years old

                        [–]orchid_bark[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Oh wow that’s sucky. Hope he is feeling better.

2nd shot all ok, just sore arm.

Had Novavax as booster due to bad reaction to fizer 2nd dose. I had inflammation of chest, tightness and the works for over a month.

22/3 around lunch time. Slight lightheadedness and soreness in arm.

23/3 Slight headache. Very tired, on and off. Similar feeling to when body is fighting a virus. Rested on couch all day. Each time I did something I had to rest. Had a bit of loose stool. Sore joints and especially 1 leg, but perhaps it's from sitting on couch awkwardly all day. I will try figure out how to come back to this forum and report next few days.

Actually joined reddit for the first time ever (long time spent a'lurkin away) to ask if anyone has experience allergic reactions to novavax at all? I (29,F) got my second does at 1 pm today and at 4 pm had what the hotline called a delayed allergic reaction.

Mouth, teeth, tongue, numb, tingley, very bizarre. Rapidly turned into lump in throat, tight chest, red/purple rash. Very similar to an allergic reaction I had to a wattle pollen/sap about 20 years ago. Got admitted to emergency department who told me off for driving myself in instead of calling an ambulance-I am a dickhead, yes, but didnt realise how quickly the reaction escalated-and they treated me with antihistamines and some steroids.

Five hours later my mouth is starting to feel funny again so I've taken some pherneragan and google is dredging up stories about paraesthesia, but i didnt think paraesthesia would show up in the mouth??

I dont know. Feeling confused and frightened and frustrated. Has anyone else had a similar reaction?

                        [–]orchid_bark[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I’m sorry you’ve had problems with your second shot. Seems like quite a serious allergy. I assume that you didn’t get these reactions with your first shot, which is odd. Hope you can get some answers soon.

I had zero side effects on 28 February and nurse aspirated as I was so distressed. Can anyone tell me about 2nd jab side effects pls

Hey man how did this turn out? You have any complications?

                        [–]orchid_bark[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there. Hmm turned out fine. I’m normal as can be. Now just waiting to get booster shot or covid, which ever comes first 😆

                        [–]Otherwise_Skirt_1715 0 points1 point  (3 children)

So this is my personal experience (I am 27, female, vegan of 10 years, workout 5 days a week, I take a lot of different supplements, eg. dandelion root, milk thistle, zinc, vitamin d, vitamin c in high doses, pine needle tea, etc.)

1st shot - slight pain discomfort, nothing too bad (tetanus shot was definitely worse), swollen lymph nodes in my armpit, a bit of a fever on the night of the shot, I was also a bit more tired, which continued for two or three more days after the shot. 5 days after the shot I got my period which I hadn’t had in over a year (I take birth control to stop it as I always had very heavy periods). Wasn’t too heavy this time fortunately. Lasted about 13 days, then it was slowly ending.

2nd shot - got it on Thursday so 2 days ago. Same pain discomfort, nothing too serious but looks like I am developing what is known as covid arm (not as scary as the pics on the internet though haha). No fever this time, just malaise and a bit of tiredness. A day after the shot my period returned. I will give it 2 weeks like last time and if it doesn’t stop, I will definitely contact my doctor.

So that’s my experience, if anyone here had the same period problem, how long did it last? Did it stop by itself or did you have to go see a doctor? Thanks for replies

                        [–]orchid_bark[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Thanks for sharing. OMG what is covid arm? Im going to have to check this out. Sucks you had issues with your period. I hear this has happened with some who have had the mRNA vaccine but havn’t heard anyone having it with Novavax yet. I hope you get some answers.

                        [–]Otherwise_Skirt_1715 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Covid arm is apparently a delayed, harmless allergic reaction according to Google haha. What I got is some swelling and redness, feels like a lump below the spot I got the injection (like 2 inches below and a bit to a side). definitely not as big as what people got with Moderna for example but it’s still there

                        [–]SpiritualPotato1981 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Hi, how are you feeling now after 2 doses of Novavax? Hope you are doing well. Have you heard more reactions from other people taking this vaccine?

                        [–]orchid_bark[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I felt fine after 2nd shot. No issues. I was due for my booster shot next week but i’ve finally caught covid, so i will probably wait 3 months to get my booster. I havn’t really kept up to date with how others have fared with novavax but you should be able to do a search on this sub reddit to find posts from others. Hope you are well and all the best in finding the answers that you seek.

                        [–]SpiritualPotato1981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for answering back. I hope this vaccine is safer than the others. Good to hear that you are feeling well.
