BAT browser is actually really fucking solid

[–]madpanda94Banned[S] 18 points19 points  (2 children)

I agree, the interface is very similar to chrome and the idea under its development is great

[–]ChiTownBobAltcoiner 9 points10 points  (0 children)

na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na BAT BROWSER!

[–]DasBibiPlatinum | QC: CC 681 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fast, ergonomic, ad-blocker integrated, and you can link your account to Brave on different computers. I love this last touch.

Only flaw : Uphold.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (3 children)

Didn't they just get ousted for saving and selling users data despite saying they didn't?

[–]No_Locksmith4570Just another neophyte, don't mind me 41 points42 points  (2 children)

BAT is highly undervalued IMO. They're building a great ecosystem, browser is great and after the launch of DEX it will be even better. Hope they add BAT rewards to Brave search soon.

[–]valuemodstck-12317K / 21K 🐬 10 points11 points  (1 child)

Brave browser is pretty good.

[–]MuffinfedsCrypto Knight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I found Brave through Reddit and haven't looked back!

[–]masterzergin0 / 3K 🦠 21 points22 points  (1 child)

BAT is imo the most undervalued token there is.

Clear use case which is in the best interest of users to solve an actual real world problem that is on the minds of millions of people.

A working product in the brave browser that is used by many and highly regarded.

I honestly just don't understand why it's not top 20 at least.

Someone please ELI5 this why is BAT so depressed.

[–]NoMaansPants LF Pockets 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Cause its symbol is a triangle and not a dog.

But honestly I would have to assume it has a lot to do with the fact that google is probably doing a lot to not have Brave show up in ads or whatever during searches and such. Apple now is starting to be restrictive to brave too. So as we are in a niche with CC, this browser is a niche in our niche. Nicheception, if you will.

I think eventually it Brave will make more of a name for itself. I think they add a few million users per month. So time will tell

[–]SadisticArkUser 16 points17 points  (1 child)

I would use Brave even without BAT at this point. It's such a good browser!

[–]NoMaansPants LF Pockets 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My favorite thing is that I didnt have to install an addons for YT adblock. I am so shocked when I'm on my phone or smart tv and an ad comes on. I'm like wtf is this nonsense????

[–]NozomilkPlatinum | QC: CC 1425 | TraderSubs 12 14 points15 points  (14 children)

They stopped giving me BAT on my phone lol. A shame since I really like the auto adblock. But the PC browser rewards are on steroids, I get waaaay more rewards on PC.

[–]TheRealMoashBronze | Politics 18 18 points19 points  (1 child)

If you're on an Apple device, that's Apples fault not Braves.

[–]NozomilkPlatinum | QC: CC 1425 | TraderSubs 12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on Android.

[–]Local-SessionPlatinum | QC: CC 577 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I use the app just for the ad block alone.

The rewards are just a bomus

[–]TooLazyToBeClever443 / 470 🦞 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter is hooked on clicking the ads away and watching the numbers go up on our pc.

I'm hooked on that on my phone. Together we're making pennies a day. It's good to have family activities lol.

[–]infested3315K / 15K 🐬 1 point2 points  (7 children)

I ve heard the rewards are peanuts, more like a few dollars per month is this true?

[–]PatatooPlatinum | QC: BAT 266, CC 81, ETH 56 | TraderSubs 58 4 points5 points  (4 children)

I get about 8 dollars a month right now, varies a lot by location. I've earned +30 BAT in a month year or two ago easily, now it's a lot of money.

[–]iCOMMAi_Salem 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Is there a way to earn BAT faster?

[–]PatatooPlatinum | QC: BAT 266, CC 81, ETH 56 | TraderSubs 58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really, it's not meant to be an income, you're just being rewarded from seeing ads like you're supposed to in web3.

[–]Drive7hru274 / 273 🦞 0 points1 point  (1 child)

You can set the preferences to 5 ads max per hour.

[–]Wise_Recover9576130 / 6K 🦀 0 points1 point  (1 child)

How much in a month?

[–]BudDwyer666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had brave for like 3 weeks and I have 2 BAT already running max ad settings. They’re v non intrusive. I’ve always hated advertisements and will always opt out (there’s an option on brave) but I gave this a shot for once and I don’t mind it. It’s just a little box in the corner that I click on and it goes away. None are targeted at me afaik.

[–]TheRealJanMarsalekBronze | 4 months old | QC: CC 18 11 points12 points  (2 children)

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My man actually told us about the cons too instead of just shilling.

[–]valuemodstck-12317K / 21K 🐬 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its great seeing posters still putting effort into their posts.

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points  (1 child)

I just switched from Chrome to Brave today. Importing bookmarks and addons was pretty seamless, and the appearance is very similar to Chrome so there was barely any getting-used-to-a-new-browser period. There's also an option to continue playing the audio of a video in the background on mobile which is great.

[–]RemootionTin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s the nice thing about it, it’s based off of chromium. It’s pretty much just a fork of Chrome except without the Google nonsense tacked on top

[–]Local-SessionPlatinum | QC: CC 577 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Also of note, there is a BAT app for mobile, which has all the amazing ad blocking properties, faster loading times, and earning as the desktop version

Mobile pages are typically cancer for ads so I love it a lot. Give it a go

[–]Nisyth_0 / 3K 🦠 6 points7 points  (2 children)

Also Brave released its own wallet, looking a lot like Metamask. Because it is integrated within the browser, it is less likely for people to get phished by look-alike fake Metamasks. Also a portion of the swapping fees done in the wallet goes for the BAT network and helps redistributing new BATs. Very serious project, bullish for BAT

[–]madpanda94Banned[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I didn't know about this integrated wallet. Thanks for your contribution :)

[–]Vast_UncertainGold | 5 months old | QC: CC 49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It hasn't been fully released afaik, it's in beta coming soon.

[–]akselmonrose962 / 957 🦑 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really like the BaT browser. U can link it to Gemini. Auto deposits ur BAT, put it into earn at 3.55% apy. Not too shabby

[–]Tatakae690 / 45K 🦠 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Let's face it, the reason why most of us like me are using Brave now is because of this blessed sub.

[–]PatatooPlatinum | QC: BAT 266, CC 81, ETH 56 | TraderSubs 58 4 points5 points  (1 child)

How exactly is it low adoption? It's one of the most if not the most used crypto. Brave has ~40 million monthly users and around 10 million people opted for rewards?

What do you mean with scalability issues, ETH fees? Because user adoption is really not the problem here

[–]onestrokeimdonePlatinum | QC: BAT 1308, CC 486 | Privacy 10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"low adoption"

meanwhile its 10m users behind coinbase which is the second largest crypto company by users. When it comes to daily users or time spent on website brave blows #1 and #2 out of the water combined. During a bear market braves activity will look like a metropolis while coinbase and binance become ghost towns.

These guys dont do their research at all.

[–]NewForOlly0 / 4K 🦠 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Brave Browser is worth using even if you're not earning BAT.

[–]redratus 3 points4 points  (3 children)

Warning, do not eat it... China had problems when doing that

[–]BTCDEX 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Great addition to the list OP, appreciate that you also mention the cons! Do you think Brave could be targeted more by hackers because they'll assume the majority of users are crypto owners?

[–]madpanda94Banned[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think so. The browser is not directly connected to a crypto wallet and a lot of non coiners use brave because of its speed and ads policy, not for the BAT rewards

[–]RandomTask1003K / 3K 🐢 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Con: Costs ETH gas $$ transfer

[–]colonizetheclouds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, need to be able to get it off exchanges onto L2/sidechain fo sho

[–]uomosiglaPlatinum | QC: CC 88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I like the most of BAT/Brave browser is that is already useable and available. Sure it can have improvements in the future but it already working right now

[–]Hour_Dragonfly6966Platinum | QC: CC 211 2 points3 points  (0 children)

BAT browser the best browser out there at the moment speaking from a web developer pov also the new search engine is surprisingly neat I hope they will add a reward system to it.

[–]numb2k31K / 1K 🐢 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Thanks for the work bud, great stuff. BAT wasn’t on the map at all for me. Any chance you could do a write-up of The Graph (GRT) next? Seems like another one with a clear use case and existing adoption, could be interesting to many here.

[–]Vast_UncertainGold | 5 months old | QC: CC 49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Low adoption" in a space where projects with 1% of the users are considered massive.

Just wanted to stop by and say that ive been reading your posts for a while now and im very happy you exist. Thank you for this. I am able to read through your research and expand my knowledge and seek out further information. I appreciate your work and dedication. [–]TripleReward0 / 4K 🦠 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bat has supposed to become an eth sidechain. They failed. Now bat has no legitimate usecase and could be replaced with any other coin.

[–]StrongPlatePlatinum | QC: CC 137, BAT 63 | EOS 7 0 points1 point  (1 child)

This BAT can't fly to the moon.

[–]iCOMMAi_Salem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

...what bat can?

[–]_o__0_Platinum | QC: CC 504, CCMeta 25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was big on BAT very early on. I made some good money with some large stacks.
I got out once it looked like Brave was really succeeding big, and BAT was not. I still think that BAT could be very very very big, but until there is some sign of a plan to make that happen alongside Brave, Im not quite convinced enough to keep big money in...

[–]Sheeple90010 / 2K 🦠 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Cons

  • 4. Forget about it if you don't live in G20 countries. I've used Brave for more than a year and have earn zero BATs. Companies don't want to advertise in places with few people/tiny markets.

[–]Nameless_King_09Gold | QC: CC 26 | DayTrading 5 | TraderSubs 11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like BAT not because I’m bullish on it but because the service I get is great. I like Brave as a browser and honestly haven’t looked back to Chrome or Firefox. I earn my BAT on there and have actually purchased a bit of it just to hold, but as far as I’m concerned the real gem here is the browser and the functionality that comes with it

[–]No-Quantity406Platinum | QC: BAT 74, CC 22[🍰] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the math is roughly 60 people starting to use the browser every minute! This project is fire!!! Thats a new brave user every second and adoption keeps growing. BAT to the moon!!

[–]Karas44Tin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

on desktop they recently made BAT available to deposit into gemini wallets, much better than previous uphold. just switched to brave and loving every second. BAT seems primed for long term growth with easy acquisition

[–]ArtyHoboPlatinum | QC: CC 343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super bullish on BAT and the great diversity of utility and value it will bring to everyday Web based activities.
