What Justin Jefferson, Michael Thomas and Amon Ra St. Brown have in common.

Across rookie and sophomore seasons, only three receivers have caught 196 passes in NFL history. Those receivers are Justin Jefferson, Michael Thomas and Amon Ra St. Brown. If you account for games missed over that period, Amon Ra actually had more receptions/game than both Jefferson and Thomas in their first 2 years.

Last year, Amon Ra finished WR7 overall in ppr and in the 13 games he played a full snap count, he absolutely shredded for 19.0 fantasy ppg in full ppr. That’s more than Stefon Diggs (18.9 ppg).

He also was stopped at the 1 yard line 7 times last year, which if he scores just 3 of those opportunities he’s now in the Tyreek Hill tier when looking at ppg.

Yet, he’s getting drafted at the middle-end of round 2 as a 3rd year poised for a truly elite season.

What is a legitimate reason he’s not going middle-late 1st round? How are AJ Brown, Ceedee, Davante and Diggs ahead of him?

Who would you predict to be the next “Amon Ra St. Brown” type of breakout.

In 2021, ARSB was moderately productive until the last 4 games at which point he went off for 20+ points each week. Then basically carried at or near that level of production since.

My prediction: Marvin Mims Jr. Though in a cluster fuck of a shit show right now, the situation seems to be on the verge of “reducing” (aka juedy maybe gone) where he’ll get some good opportunities. And Denver projects to be throwing a lot this year (no stats to support, just eye balling their putrid pass D).

Not sure if there’s any comparison to their styles (feel free to educate), but I believe ARSB is about 30 lbs heavier (205) at the same ish height, but Mims is lighting fast with 4.3 40 (ARSB clocked at 4.6).

Edit: I was thinking more in the tier of guys who are probably on waivers/ have been up til recently (Mims, Reed, Dell, etc.) - not guys who are already like top 20 WR).
