To continue celebrating the upcoming launch of Black Myth: Wukong, this week we are exploring the origins of Sun Wukong, the Monkey King.
What we share here is just one of the versions, and there are many interpretations of it across literature and other media.
If you're interested in learning more about Journey to the West, check out our Week 1 post here:
In the 16th-century novel "Journey to the West," Sun Wukong was born from a magical stone atop the Mountain of Flowers and Fruit, where many monkeys resided. The stone absorbed the essence of heaven and earth, including elements of earth, water, fire, metal, and wood. Eventually, it burst open, and Sun Wukong emerged fully formed, endowed with supernatural powers.
Sun Wukong earned the title "The Monkey King" after bravely jumping through a waterfall and discovering a magical cave behind it. He invited all the monkeys to take shelter there, making it their new home. Impressed by his bravery and discovery, the monkeys proclaimed him their king.

In Black Myth: Wukong you play as the destined one, who could be the Monkey King. What excites you most about possibly playing as Wukong?
Does anyone know if NVIDIA Broadcast works equally well on all RTX cards? If the machine was just going to be used for streaming (and not gaming) do the noise cancellation and other features benefit from the later generation cards? Would the tensor cores on a 2060 perform as well as the ones on a 4060 for broadcast purposes? Can’t seem to find definitive info on this — just that the platform supports all RTX cards.
I’m planning to pair it with ryzen 5 7600x and I was wondering if the 100$ price increase is really worth it?
Also does the 16gb one make a difference in longevity? I’m planning to depend on this setup for some time
I'm a guy from a third world country, so I still got a decent 500w power supply. Want to ask, is this good for it? Been saving a lot. Barely enough budge to squeeze this.
To keep it brief, I'm super new and nooby coming into the whole PC space after almost a decade in console gaming. My newest PC is an RTX 4070 Super with an Intel i7 12th gen. Ive already played games like Cyber punk and RDR2 but wanted to see how wild I could get with these components. I have a 1440p monitor (144HZ) and I was wondering what are the ideal settings to look out for, preferably a little bit more fidelity than Performance since I mostly play single player games. Hitting 70+ would be great. Also what is the difference between DLAA and quality? Which one produces better quality? Cheers !
Im gonna upgrade to the rtx 4070 super and I know it uses the new 12vhpwr cable and comes with the extender for 2x 8pin pcie to plug into. Instead of that I want to get cable mod cables in white to clean up my build. My question is if I get a 12VHPWR cable with slots for 3x 8 pin pcie connectors can I only use two of those cuz the 4070 super only needs 2? Is it ok to leave one of the connectors empty? Thanks in advance
Hey!
Building a new pc soon with the 4080 Super, but there are so many to choose from!
Can anyone tell me what is the best cards to buy? I'm not looking to spend crazy money on those with the highest price.
Thanks!
So I recently got a new PC and am trying to download Nvidia Omniverse again. However, I am unable to find where to download the launcher now, I am only redirected to the sdk installation, not Omniverse itself. Thank you in advance
I tried selling an old painted gtx 1070 a couple years back and the guy returned it but the shipping company sucked and it came back without a retention clip and the heatsink a little malformed and the cover doesnt stay on anymore but, if I put it in my dl380 g6 would it be worth it to use on jellyfin for video encoding here is a a photo of the gpu:
I am unsure if it is even safe to put in there if anything would get shorted out, I dont have high hopes about it so I really dont care if I cant put it in because its too much of a risk or it doesnt fit properly.
I’m not looking for tech support more for advice if this thing will short out my entire server or not.
Hello everyone, I am trying to undervolt my 3070 Ti to reduce my temps. Does anyone have a good guide for doing this? I have found multiple but they seem to detail different methods. If anyone can provide some insight it would be much appreciated.
Hey! I’ve just got a 4080 and store told me I could reedem my gpu serial number following some steps and receive a game for steam (Wukong). I’ve installed the gpu and updated the drivers but I don’t understand where am I supposed to enter the serial number to activate the gpu and receive a code for the nvidia rewards (the game). Any help? Thank you.
Prefers:
-Power Efficient
-Acceptable/At least Playable Ray Tracing Performance(in games like Cyberpunk)
-Can handle the most demanding titles at decently high settings at 1080P.
There is a 16GB version. Does the extra cost of it worth the better lifespan or headroom for Ray Tracing+FG that uses a lot of VRAM? Or is sticking to an 8GB fine?
As much as I wanted to go to the RTX 4070 Super it's just too over the top for my resolution.
Decided to change the thermal paste and pads of my 3 year old rtx 3070 FE yesterday using Arctic MX-6 and TP-3 (1mm thickness), as my core temps reached 80 and hotspot 95 with light 3D gaming.
I did all my estimation by eye so I stacked 3 layers of thermal pads together, and applied the thermal paste using an x pattern. The thermals went up a heap, core temp 95 and hotspot 110.
Did a little research and the pads that were originally in the card were soft and squished down to the 2.25mm gap between the components and heatplate, while the Arctic TP-3 are quite dense and dont squish a lot. So all i did was remove one layer, leaving a 2mm layer of pads, and I applied thermal paste by manually spreading it, and now my thermals are much improved, 70 core and 80 hotspot.
I figure either the pads were too thick and insulating heat, or that due to the thickness the core wasnt fully seated against the heatsink.
For anyone planning on doing this, its definitely worth it as the pads and paste originally in the card are not very good, just either use squishy pads, or ensure the thickness of your denser pads are not more than 2.25mm!
I'm looking to upgrade my 6 year old PC with all new parts. I've been looking into the 4070 Super GPU with an AMD Ryzen 7 7800x3d CPU. However, I've been struggling to pull the trigger on the purchase because I'm not sure my usage would justify the price.
I enjoy gaming but I would consider myself a "casual gamer". On average, I tend to play for about 1-2 hours a day. Typically, I enjoy playing Tekken 8, MK1, Helldivers 2, Elden Ring, and COD. I'm looking forward to playing Black Myth: Wukong, and Sparking Zero later this year.
That being said, would it make sense for me to get a cheaper build than the one I listed above? Or should I get the 4070 and a cheaper CPU?
Current Specs:
GeForce GTX 1060 6GB Intel i5-7600k CPU G.Skill DDR4 16GB RAM
Is a 4080S + 7700x good for VR? I mainly play games such as Rec Room, VRChat and Half Life Alyx.
I'm confused regarding different informations about G-SYNC, V-SYNC, NULL etc. I currently have both G-SYNC and V-SYNC on as I've heard it's best option but don't know if I should cap my framerate through NVCP or just enable ultra low latency mode. In addition to that I've also heard reflex limits the fps for G-SYNC so I'm beyond confused here, what do you suggest?
Micro center has one for $389, open box refurbished is quite the gamble though, a bad GPU won’t brick my PC if I run DDU before installation?
I’ll be upgrading to a 5000 series refresh card, primarily building for Black Myth Wukong— if the game wasn’t coming out I wouldn’t be building but also I figure it’s time, why wait and just enjoy, I’ve been holding off since 2021
I have everything except the GPU, but thoughts on the motherboard?
Build: 7800X3D
Mobo: B650 PG Lightning, thinking about swapping it out for a Gigabyte Aorus Elite Ax
RAM: DDR5 CL30
SSD: 2TB Nvme
Cooler: Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120
PSU: Seasonic Vertex Gx 1200W
Case: Fractal Meshify 2 Black
Hey y'all, hoping anyone here can help me find a suitable upgrade for my computer and if I should upgrade my processor to match!
I'm not looking for anything crazy, I don't really play any games that require real firepower and I use rather old monitors anyway, just hoping for something reliable with good performance. Thanks so much in advance if anyone can advise me!
Specs:
processor - intel core i5-9600k
ram - 16gb
gpu - nvidia geforce gtx 970
motherboard - mpg z390 gaming pro carbon (ms7b17)
psu - Corsair RM750X
Did some research and I think this is the best option? A lot of people say 1mm and 1.5 is too thick and makes the temps go even higher. Still, I dont wanna buy the wrong stuff and mess it up, because gigabyte seems to use 1 and 1.5mm
