Ok....but Im still mad...see ya

[–]BlueShift42 1508 points1509 points  (33 children)

I was stuck, Sheryl, I tell ya. Stuck as could be! Then this metal demon moved in on me. I lashed out from my prone position and struck it! Again and again. I kept the beast at bay until all of the sudden I summoned super fox strength and lifted the boulder just enough to break free! In a single bound I was away, out of the reach of the slow but monstrous beast. You should have seen it. I was incredible!

[–]getoffmygrassdevil 575 points576 points  (11 children)

is that what the fox said?

[–]ZeeHanzenShwanz 118 points119 points  (3 children)

I read it as Larry David playing the fox. I know it's 'Cheryl' but couldn't stop myself

[–]BobbyDropTableUsers 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Request: someone please add the Curb credits and music to the end of this vid.

No easy way for me to do this on my phone.

[–]_Martyr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

"I tell ya" oh God now I can't unhear it

[–]semicoloradonative 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read it as Kenny Bannon from Seinfeld…so not far off!

[–]Mads_Alexander9 17 points18 points  (1 child)

It's all about the ringtone that I sing

[–]fenasi_kerim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just listened to this song recently and was shocked to see it was uploaded almost 10 years ago.

[–]SchnoodleDoodleDo 111 points112 points  (5 children)

…n that’s how it Was - i was STUCK as could Be!!

that’s when the MaD MeTaL thing moved in on me…

TRAPPED by my Tail - s t r e t c h e d - o u t to full length,

i Suddenly summoned my SUPER FOX Strength!

n just as the BEAST was about to Eat me,

i Lifted the boulder enough to break Free!

the Monster - it Fled with a whimpering cry,

Defeated by ME!

OutFoxed!!

…would I Lie ?

[–]lydialost 17 points18 points  (1 child)

Well this is just lovely!

[–]422hersandhers 13 points14 points  (0 children)

What a delight you are, u/SchnoodleDoodleDo!

[–]orangepalm 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Read that to the tune of the fresh prince theme with a bunch of back up voices emphasizing SUPER FOX STRENGTH

[–]Tricky-Sympathy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just read "no goodbyes" and now I'm broken.

[–]Vaughx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]tuibiel 6 points7 points  (2 children)

probe position

Are alien foxes a thing now?

[–]BlueShift42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol. Typo, meant “prone.” Edited to make it right.

[–]GhostCheese 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I tell you, Jerry, it was 10 stories of it was a foot!

[–]docpurple5891 2 points3 points  (1 child)

You should be a writer. I'd have loved to read your work as a kid.

[–]scooba_dude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happy Cake day and thank you for this insight to how a fox thinks. This made me laugh because I can believe it!

[–]Latter_Sun_9039 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happy cake day. that was hilarious

[–]ViennaFingersSuck 133 points134 points  (3 children)

Poor thing was terrified. Didn’t understand the big loud shovel elephant was helping.

[–]Ghede 27 points28 points  (2 children)

Probably because the big shovel was what got that rock on top of the tail in the first place. Not intentionally, of course.

[–]Chapstickie 46 points47 points  (1 child)

I very much doubt a fox would make that kind of mental leap. It probably never even realized the big shovel wasn’t just moving to rock in order to eat the fox.

[–]AMViquel 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Foxes are very good at leaping though, that's why they call it fox news.

[–]eatmahanus 24 points25 points  (2 children)

I'd be scared shitless too if some thing that smells like dirt and blood (as in because iron in blood idk makes sense to me) slowly moved waaay too close

[–]whoami_whereami 11 points12 points  (1 child)

Iron doesn't smell. For something to smell it has to give of vapors, which metals don't do at room temperature (well, metals other than mercury). What's commonly called "metallic smell" is actually certain compounds in human sweat reacting with metals or blood producing odorants, mainly oct-1-en-3-one (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oct-1-en-3-one).

[–]AspiringChildProdigy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's really interesting! I have a degree in biology (mainly wildlife, so don't judge me too hard) and always had some vague idea that blood smells coppery or metallic because of the iron in hemoglobin.

[–]Banana_Ram_You 180 points181 points  (11 children)

Yea like, that backhoes wasn't there for no reason.

95% chance they wouldn't have gotten stuck if it weren't an active construction site.

[–]ViennaFingersSuck 206 points207 points  (5 children)

This is why I hang signs around all my construction sites explicitly informing foxes to stay away.

[–]Owl-Live 32 points33 points  (1 child)

Yes. This way there is only sexy dudes

[–]JustaTinyDude 8 points9 points  (0 children)

FOXES STAY AWAY - ANYWHERE BUT HERE
Also Chicks, Cougars, Bitches and Birds

Welcome\*
Wolves, Bears, Otters, Bulls, Chickenhawks, Cubs, Chickens, and Giraffes

*STAY AWAY UNDERAGE! --> GO ACROSS the STREET

[–]EchoSolo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Very safety conscious.

[–]trancertong 23 points24 points  (1 child)

Man i watched it without sound at first and i thought it was like an antique headboard or something moving the rock.

Maybe I need more sleep.

[–]Banana_Ram_You 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oy, guessing all your other subs are ThriftStoreHauls or Antiques or something?

[–]rangeo 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Good point

[–]ensureplink 2170 points2171 points  (56 children)

God I can't even imagine how terrifying that must have been for him.

[–]histeethwerered 1051 points1052 points  (25 children)

Yes, immobilized as that gigantic rumbling thing waves menacingly. Some creatures would have died of heart failure.

[–]undeadw0lf 372 points373 points  (12 children)

i was honestly scared he was going to pull so hard to get away that he was going to de-glove his tail

[–]BeelzAllegedly 167 points168 points  (0 children)

God that word just hurts me to read at this point

[–]HornyHermione1 78 points79 points  (6 children)

Wow. That is a visceral word. “De-glove.” Yikes

[–]leekslap 30 points31 points  (4 children)

haha there used to be a whole subreddit with factory mishaps... good ol' liveleak videos to traumatize your everyday internet peoples.

[–]WestleyThe 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah I feel like if seen dozens of hands degloved on the internet…

Fucking brutal

[–]foxontherox 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Anybody remember rotten.com?

[–]ravenxdies 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, yes.

[–]Alzaero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use it when I'm really trying to get my point across about how dangerous something like a belt sander is. You'd think "take your rings off or they could catch and rip off your skin" would get the point across better, but I think it's the moment of thought required to decipher what "take your rings off or it could de-glove you" means that really makes it sink in for people.

[–]NotTrumpsAlt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make kinda checks out

[–]TheMasterMekanik 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of my time working on a chicken farm. We had many different chickens, but the big white ones were so scared that several would drop dead if we opened the chicken coop door too fast or made sudden movements while around them

[–]Pr0v3nD1sc1pl3 40 points41 points  (4 children)

[–]Imaybeerong 6 points7 points  (4 children)

Yeah but likely the machine moved the rock onto her tail in the first place. How handy something that could lift that happened to be near by. Probably disturbed her den and she managed to almost get out except for her tail getting pinched.

[–]Cingetorix 14 points15 points  (3 children)

you speculate so well you should work for cnn

[–]DaUltimatePotato 4 points5 points  (1 child)

What if the fox knew humans with large machinery were going to come help him so, in an attempt to make humans look bad, the fox trapped itself to fool beerong and the media?

[–]pupperoni42 49 points50 points  (6 children)

My cat delicately brought a live mouse back and started grooming it. I saw this through the window. Before I could get out there the poor thing had died - I'm pretty sure from fright induced heart failure.

[–]glitter_h1ppo 30 points31 points  (4 children)

One time I found my cat playing with a (live) mouse and just as I grabbed hold of the mouse the cat slit it's throat open with a single desultory thrust of the paw. If he couldn't play with it he wasn't going to let it live either...

[–]SnooHobbies8473 20 points21 points  (3 children)

One time I found my cat playing with a (live) mouse and just as I grabbed hold of the mouse the cat slit it's throat open with a single desultory thrust of the paw. If he couldn't play with it he wasn't going to let it live either...

I'm glad Domestic Cats are as small as they are,. because if they were people-sized, many of us would be dead...

( compare to people-sized Dogs, most of whom are lovable derps...)

[–]pupperoni42 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Domestic cats are virtually identical genetically to the wild cats who wandered into a house in Egypt thousands of years ago and decided it was their house now.

Dogs have been deliberately domesticated through needing for desirable traits - primarily behavior for the first thousand years.

It definitely shows.

[–]Delta8hate 7 points8 points  (0 children)

people-sized Dogs

Clifford!

[–]teriyakimilkshake 31 points32 points  (4 children)

[–]theREDscare20 15 points16 points  (2 children)

or find another rock

[–]CobaltKnightofKholin 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Lmao. I like to think it was actually a trap. Foxy was hoping a flesh creature would come try to help it out. Next time, maybe.

[–]TheDwarvenGuy 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I mean a lot of animals die of shock after situations like this.

[–]sexytokeburgerz 21 points22 points  (4 children)

I’m sure someones hamster died this way

[–]Imadethosehitmanguns 14 points15 points  (2 children)

Dying easily is pretty much their super power

[–]CookieWobber 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Those poor things die in the most brutal way too

[–]travioso304 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Mine was accidentally cooked.. probably needs some backstory.. short version is knocked cage over, mom put it on patio to air out and change it, sun was not friendly to lil Popeye. Spent most my life thinking I killed it until one day casually having a beer with dad talking about pets, the truth came out. Had to go down the "did this one really run away" list lol

[–]thatonealtchick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Underrated comment

[–]AlphaH4wk 17 points18 points  (2 children)

It was valiant but also sad watching it try to bite the bucket as a last ditch effort to defend itself. Those poor little critters don't stand a chance. Good thing these people were just trying to help it.

[–]Lots42 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was worried the fox would hurt her jaws on the metal.

Was reminded of a similar situation in a Dean Koontz. A shoe was given to a trapped fox. She chowed down on it in her confusion so she wouldn't bite anything that would cause harm in some way. While she was safely freed.

[–]retardeddumptruck 11 points12 points  (3 children)

tail's probly still broken as fuck too :(

[–]BMagg 12 points13 points  (2 children)

It looks like only the tip was caught. Odds are the fox will loose the tip of the tail, but will survive long term just fine as long as the stress didn't kill them. Luckily, tails don't have a lot of blood flow, so they usually just fall off instead of infection getting into the blood stream. The lack of blood flow is also why tail injuries don't heal well, but the remaining tail heals fine after the end falls off.

[–]International-Fig905 5 points6 points  (0 children)

”Tails don’t grow back?”

Mr. Fox: ”Tails don’t grow back.”

[–]SoapBubbs 11 points12 points  (1 child)

Poor baby looked so scared :(

[–]tunamelts2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

"if this is the end, then i go out fightin'" --the fox probably

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I just wish we could explain that we’re helping. It’s so sad seeing animals in need attacking the people trying to help them because they instinctually assume they’re being attacked…

[–]CardinalVader 1046 points1047 points  (4 children)

At last, the fight AND flight response.

[–]MycologistPutrid7494 230 points231 points  (2 children)

When you can't take flight, you fight until you can.

[–]bautron 46 points47 points  (1 child)

You can see the fox immediately regret taking a bit out of the backhoe and kind of lose its shit.

[–]HuhButOk 42 points43 points  (0 children)

You can see it realizing “Oh shit this hurts to bite and it ain’t a person”

[–]getoffmygrassdevil 21 points22 points  (0 children)

normally the flight and fight method involves sidewinder missiles, but i can make an exception

[–]Dapper_Algae505 174 points175 points  (9 children)

A transcript no one asked for:

好啦好啦,好啦好啦。 It's ok It's ok 好趕緊走開啦.. Hurry and leave. 好,走了走了。 Ok It's gone. 狐狸嘛。 It's a fox.

[–]Centurio 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Thank you!!

[–]AD7GD 6 points7 points  (2 children)

Finally I understand when to use 嘛

[–]BoySerere 250 points251 points  (0 children)

Yea babe, you should have seen me. I stood up and roared at it and snapped at it. It was so scared of me it backed off. Then I gracefully turned around and walked away like a boss.

[–]zexijin 132 points133 points  (3 children)

Whenever I see humans saving animals with no idea of what’s going on, I just think that in the future, if we get trapped in some cosmic horror, and a super advanced benevolent alien race comes and saves us, it will look to us like they are invading our planet, and we’ll be terrified, having no clue what they are doing.

[–]TheDood715 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Dood when's your show coming out?

[–]MaybeWontGetBanned 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I mean, that’s kind of the plot of Arrival.

[–]buckthestat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whose to say that hasn’t already happened?

[–]frothy_squid 285 points286 points  (4 children)

So poor fox, he is so scared and hurt, thank you for your help hooman

[–]BelleAriel 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I echo this. Glad there are good people in the world.

[–]SeaAnything8 25 points26 points  (2 children)

It’s likely humans that moved the rocks there to begin with

[–]shebazz42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah. This was more /r/humansfixingwhattheybroke most likely. I doubt that rock randomly fell in the vicinity of an excavator.

[–]smokethis1st 21 points22 points  (3 children)

What did it say?

[–]imbreaststroke 52 points53 points  (1 child)

Ring-ding-ding-ding-dingergineding gering-ding-ding-ding-dingeringeding!

Fun fact, more than 1 billion views

[–]Sarcastic-Ad-Bot 10 points11 points  (0 children)

At least 20 of those views are people at my office trying to show me what their kids found.

[–]BreastUsername 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Something in Spanish.

[–]ObscureMulberry 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Adrenaline is one hell of a drug

[–]Copperfe 105 points106 points  (16 children)

Bite or run lmao pick one chief

[–]biozzer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

"...as the great metal beast kept striking at me, I held my ground. With bites of cuteness and courage, I repelled the great beast and thus freed myself off a giant rock." - that fox to his grandkids, probably

[–]AimingForBland 47 points48 points  (6 children)

Seems like they're also the reason it got stuck, so helping it is the least they can do.

[–]freegrapes 33 points34 points  (1 child)

Could be people cleaning up a mud slide too

[–]rodgermaarman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Damn. Ok. Maybe.

[–]bishpa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seriously. I can think of no other explanation.

[–]Fowlnature 55 points56 points  (15 children)

I’m assuming the backhoe caused the boulder to fall on it in the first place. Those don’t tend to jump on tails.

[–]BadEgg1951 16 points17 points  (1 child)

That was my immediate first thought: "How in the world did he get his tail caught in the first place?" Followed by: "I bet the backhoe did it." Chances of a rock catching his tail like that by itself without outside intervention must be too low to even contemplate.

[–]tommos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like a fox would be agile enough to dodge a big ass rock rolling towards it. I reckon the rock was at rest but unstably balanced and the fox bumped it or the wind shifted it and it rolled onto the fox's tail.

[–]MycologistPutrid7494 15 points16 points  (10 children)

I'd think the fox would have tried to stay as far away from a worrying backhoe as possibly.

[–]Ronnocerman 30 points31 points  (9 children)

Chance of large rock randomly rolling in nature: Extremely low.
Chance of fox's tail getting stuck under a randomly rolling rock: Even lower
Chance of a backhoe randomly being in the area where a random rock happened to roll in nature and pin a fox's tail OR someone choosing to come out with a backhoe rather than putting a rope around the rock and pulling it from afar: Absurdly low

Chance of a fox being interested by construction noise and coming to investigate: Moderate
Chance of a backhoe dislodging a rock that lands on a curious fox's tail: Moderate

I'm going to have to go with "the backhoe caused and fixed the problem".

[–]SceneDeleted 11 points12 points  (4 children)

Could be cleaning up a land slide. If that's the case, poor fox might have been there a while. The base of the tail looks a bit messed up, could have been there long enough it might have tried to take off its own tail til humans showed and it hid until it couldn't.

But your conclusion is fairly likely too.

[–]Ronnocerman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ah. You're right. That's a possibility, especially with the river rushing like that.

[–]Bourne_Toad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In conclusion: discombobulate.

[–]fishcrow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First bite looked painful. Ever try biting 50,000psi steel? My teeth hurt

[–]WatchingInSilence 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The size comparison would be like if the T-Rex in Jurassic Park was really trying to free the kids from that abandoned tour car.

[–]LifeIzBeautiful 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Oh that poor baby! I hope she was okay.

[–]n1njapotamus 54 points55 points  (9 children)

It’s great that they helped the little fella, but also he probably was stuck because of them.

[–]histeethwerered 86 points87 points  (5 children)

But not because of their intention. We all must try our best but even so our mere existence negatively effects others. They did well to pause and do what they could when things went awry.

[–]paper_snow 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Affects*

An effect is a noun; to affect is a verb. 😊✌️

[–]histeethwerered 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the correction. I plead inanity.

[–]batweenerpopemobile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both can be a verb or noun. verb affect - to have an impact on, noun affect - signs of a mental state (psych term), noun effect - the change, verb effect - to bring about/create.

"I'll effect an effect to affect his affect" - what Reed Richards might say if asked to stop the Hulk

[–]Bohya 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And looks like his tail is broken as well.

[–]postmortemstardom 14 points15 points  (0 children)

And they just didn't leave it there ? Also a lot of water is moving around so boulder might ve moved because of it.

[–]youre_gonna_do_what 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He took that rage and attacked that poor woman on the other Reddit thread!

[–]Lukn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably obliterated its teeth when it tried to bite it that fast.

[–]cheerocc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you're welcome!!!!!!!! Ungrateful fox.

[–]Mulligan315 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“I swear it, Melissa! I fought off a Dragon!”

[–]Alligator_Fridge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ungrateful son of a bi-

[–]VASP-0_0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

:give_upvote:

[–]USSNerdinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Accidentally had my volume all the way up and nearly deafened me. 😂

Poor little guy. Glad he got rescued!

[–]V3N0MSP4RK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Poor baby was scared of the dozer

[–]ErdmanA 1 point2 points  (1 child)

At first I thought aww... until I thought wait a minute how would a fox get caught between boulders that size.... why does there just happen to be construction equipment present.. fuck dude this isn't humans being bros this is humans covering their own asses lol

[–]syslogd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, you are not my mother.

[–]GolfandPoker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Poor thing might need a dentist now.

[–]WappyTrees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're the reason he's caught there in the first place.

[–]Loud-Principle-7922 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That lil dude was ready to fight god.

[–]Jimbrutan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fox needs therapy after that

[–]R3AL1Z3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fox definitely hurt its teeth when it slammed into it the first time trying to bite it.

[–]mrsalmonster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know they’re just animals but I always found it kind of rude in videos like this for them just run off and not say thank you

[–]StatisticianQuirky61 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fox doesn't stop even in the face of death. Be like the fox.

[–]Exolixer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I somehow feel as though it wasn’t the fox who was responsible for the rock trapping it… 🤔

[–]Wrench984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I like to imagine what other animals view from this point. Their tail gets stuck, they’re pinned down and vulnerable, and now this giant monster of metal rumbles over. Smoke spews from it’s mouth as it leans over with giant claws, you try to fight back but you can’t puncture it’s skin with your measly teeth

[–]SnooDonkeys2345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First destroy their territory and then help them👏👏👏

[–]yesiamark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ungrateful.. haha

[–]ShareChairChica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Woah fox dude has a good story to tell his buddies! Good on ya mates!

[–]heLLoLyou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But how did the tail got stuck under the rock?

[–]Healthy-Grocery6055 1 point2 points  (0 children)

127 hours would have been a much shorter movie using this solution.

[–]__Becquerel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope the digger didn't get damaged from those vicious bites

[–]Super_Cheburek -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Fr I hate it too when a rock falls from the sky and traps me

[–]Eiffel-Tower777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for helping that scared critter. ♥️

[–]JRWoodwardMSW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re doing God’s work!

[–]Couch8myLighter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now back to destroying its habitat.

[–]NESpahtenJosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea except he probably was the one who dropped the rock on him in the first place.

[–]ThisNameIsFree -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Stupid dummy didn't even realize he was being helped and tried to attack the helper.

[–]ThatDamDoorman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Phew! Anyway! Back to destroying this natural habitat! Weeeeeeee!
