Not sure if you guys know this or not but Kelly and Georgia are teachers.

It's a bit subtle and they don't talk about it a lot but there are clues.

[–]KellyandGeorgia 19 points20 points  (5 children)

Even I’m sick of hearing about it. Didn’t think they’d show so much of us saying it 😂 We actually quit our jobs to go on the show and now travel full time!

[–]PlakataSzn 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Travel full time?

hmmmmm that could be a hint you won the 250k lol

[–]muxbossgirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am pretty sure they are top 3 and might have won, too, given "everything" here on reddit.

[–]bdiddlediddles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha, I love you guys. They do it with everyone.

[–]bellaboo030505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be proud and talk about it as much as use want shows your happy about what you do.

[–]Apple_Slipper 3 points4 points  (1 child)

It's mentioned multiple times that Kelly & Georgia are maths teachers. Kelly mentioned that he also did sudoku puzzles while in isolation.

[–]bdiddlediddles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wait, they're maths teachers? They should be good at this challenge because they're maths teachers.

[–]muxbossgirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my fave math was the one done in decimals, like how? lol

[–]seven_seacat 20 points21 points  (2 children)

<Angel and Frankie> we're millenials, we don't do this embroidery cross-stitching kind of stuff!

<me, a millenial, looking up from my cross-stitch while I watch the episode> huh????

I also still have a street directory in my glove box... kids these days

[–]muxbossgirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

thank God someone said it. It shouldn't be a point of pride not having basic life skills. Technology has ruined us for sure.

[–]never_enough_garlic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! And many of my friends sew, knit, crossstitching and embroidery (same thing?) especially has been super trendy the past couple of years. What an annoying comment from them

[–]Slow-Boysenberry 17 points18 points  (3 children)

It looked like some teams got approved without much of the yellow stitching being completed? Did anyone else notice?

[–]ToQ-1go 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Some teams had a whole flower done. Other teams had zero yellow on theirs.

[–]scifanforever1980 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was confused at this. Did they have to prove they could do the stitch otlr stitch the flower pattern?

[–]TheOxime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there was two patterns to pick from, a flower or a leaf.

[–]CreswickOctober[S] 15 points16 points  (2 children)

This is an all time unique pit stop

[–]pantaloonjohnny 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Was about to say this as well! How cool

[–]ValuePsychological74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A bit of fun and just gorgeous!

[–]AngelSG86 12 points13 points  (2 children)

Heath looked so enthusiastic when he heard what the roadblock was, the look on his face was classic 🤣😂

[–]ValuePsychological74 7 points8 points  (1 child)

He has the best facial expressions!!

[–]muxbossgirl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

haha i love them both, she's so sweet and he's really so expressive in a cute-sy funny kinda way.

[–]PlakataSzn 14 points15 points  (2 children)

It breaks my heart seeing Toni knowing she has Stage 4 cancer, she's awesome.

I'm happy her and Heath are winning legs though and she's experiencing all this.

God bless her

#F*ckCancer

[–]muxbossgirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

right?! and she has such a positive attitude about it all. Gives people strength to go through their problems. absolutely inspiring

[–]proriin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just watching now but I’m going to ugly cry if they don’t make it.

[–]KellyandGeorgia 29 points30 points  (4 children)

Interesting note from this ep. After the counting of the arches challenge, some teams arrived to their cars to find our number plates had been stolen. All teams had to pause until we sorted something out.

[–]CreswickOctober[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is wild!

[–]Hawk301 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Geez, that's crazy

[–]Apple_Slipper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, that is absolutely WILD!

[–]FirstGonkEmpire 12 points13 points  (11 children)

I thought Kelly and Georgia were gonna get a penalty for not biking? Maybe they did and they edited it out, not like it would matter with the cops getting so lost

[–]KellyandGeorgia 13 points14 points  (3 children)

It didn’t say that you had to use the bikes, it was a 1km run so was 100% a disadvantage not to take them

[–]callmetuesday 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Why didn’t you take the bikes 😄

[–]KellyandGeorgia 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We were so stressed that we were in last that we just completely missed them, didn’t even see them sitting there.

[–]Brettf84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you overtake the cops on the road or see them turn off in the wrong direction? I’m sure you were right behind them in a car at one stage

[–]AngelSG86 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Walking would actually take longer than riding so it’s probably a penalty in itself.

[–]FirstGonkEmpire 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't remember a specific situation where a team got penalised for taking a slower route, but TAR is normally pretty pedantic with the clue details (e.g. in latest American episode, Phil didn't check a team in because one of them lost a hat when the clue to the road block clue said they have to wear the outfit given to them at that task for the rest of the leg, and she was wearing everything else but still had to go back to her car for the hat).

I guess it either didn't say you HAD to in the clue (wording matters as well) or there was a penalty that was edited out (already one part of this shorter than usual 45 minute episode edited out as confirmed by Kelly in this thread)

Edit: lol yeah Kelly said it didn't say you had to in the clue

[–]pantaloonjohnny -2 points-1 points  (4 children)

I might be wrong but don't penalties only apply for using faster modes of transportation?

But also curious, would that raft sink if more than one team got a penalty 😂

[–]CreswickOctober[S] 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Some teams have been sent away from the pit stop to try again if they haven't arrived in the right way

[–]ValuePsychological74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess technically the Pitstop was by zipline. Besides, they gave themselves a pretty big penalty by running, which would be a lot longer than riding the bike.

[–]cdfe88 1 point2 points  (1 child)

The OG wording is that using the wrong form of transportation incites a 30-minute penalty plus time gained. As an example, in Unfinished Business Kent & Vyxsin took a different flight than the mandatory one, but since that didn't give them an advantage, their penalty was 30 minutes flat.

However, this is the Australian version and the rules don't really matter.

[–]pantaloonjohnny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, you're right! It's the plus time gained thing I remembered but not the 30-minute outright penalty. My bad.

You're also right with it not mattering with Australian rules too lol

[–]pantaloonjohnny 11 points12 points  (1 child)

lol did Kelly & Georgia run all the way to the Pit Stop?

[–]KellyandGeorgia 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes, was awful. Kept thinking the cops were going to zoom past us on the bikes.

    [–]bdiddlediddles 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Not sure if thats just because all the teams are friends or if its because some of the tasks are just a touch too unintuitive.

      [–]CreswickOctober[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they really wanted drama surely they would have put the U-turn before the pit stop

      [–]CreswickOctober[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are all probably exhausted by this virtual mega leg

      [–]KellyandGeorgia 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Yeah honestly it was so hard being such close friends with the teams. As weird as it sounds you just wanted to see everyone succeed and felt bad not helping. Can’t speak for other casts but it feels like we were a super close bunch compared to most seasons.

      [–]Apple_Slipper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very understandable. TAR Australia's casting has been consistently great!

      [–]ValuePsychological74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It nearly cost the teachers! Understand them helping Heath and Toni as they agreed to work together, but they should have kept the answer under their hat to the others. They are now so close to the $250k!! Guess it’s hard when you are obviously nice people!

      [–]KellyandGeorgia 18 points19 points  (9 children)

Not watching live (in QLD) but I’m guessing they cut the part of the challenge where we had to solve an algebra equation? That’s why I thought being a maths teacher would be helpful

      [–]CreswickOctober[S] 14 points15 points  (1 child)

That makes more sense why one team had a decimal answer 😅

      [–]ValuePsychological74 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was strange why they went to try with that answer though, they even said they thought it wouldn’t be it, and it wasn’t.

      [–]AngelSG86 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ahh that makes sense now. Was wondering why people needed calculators just to count arches 😂

      [–]KellyandGeorgia 9 points10 points  (1 child)

Yeah saw i was getting roasted on twitter for saying how a maths teacher would be helpful and saw people only mentioning the counting

      [–]pantaloonjohnny 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's so weird how they kept you saying you're a maths teacher, teams getting decimals, and Pako & Mori saying they're not great at maths if they wanted to show that it was just counting whole arches.

      [–]cdfe88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you! I was being extremely confused by Tiff and Cynthia having a decimal

      [–]ValuePsychological74 1 point2 points  (2 children)

LOL, I didn’t even notice as saw all the teams doing maths equations and just agreed that yes, being a maths teacher would be helpful! Gosh some people really can be picky from their lounge chairs!

      [–]KellyandGeorgia 10 points11 points  (1 child)

I don’t blame them sometimes when the edit misses out key info. I looked like a twat carrying on about the maths stuff without context😂

      [–]ValuePsychological74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

      We didn’t think so!

      [–]Toiletwasher 8 points9 points  (3 children)

What's going on with angel tonight? I feel like she's way less energetic and seems almost irritated at some points.

      [–]muxbossgirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Frankie is a trooper lol. I feel like mostly he's in a zone of his own.

      [–]TheOxime -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Gotta be exhausted with that much stuff in 3ish days.

None of the other reality shows are on though so they may pick up viewers that aren’t interested in the footy.

        [–]MichaelAndrews73a 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm not interested in the footy, definitely watched this leg! :)

I'm sad that Lauren and Steph were eliminated, but the ads kinda gave away the fact that they would be eliminated because they didn't show them at all. Anyone else notice that?

I agree with the others about the pit stop. Not only does it look beautiful but it had a unique spin on it. Beats the racers just running to the mat!

        [–]KingoftheHill63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Footy ended last week. Up the mighty catters😊

        [–]CreswickOctober[S] 3 points4 points  (1 child)

😅 I didn't realise the NRL final was on, I'm in Melbourne

        I don't think that's a controversial statement

        [–]mrfalconcat 6 points7 points  (1 child)

How did that roadblock work? It didn’t look like they did much embroidery? Was it just a percentage of the pattern?

        [–]callmetuesday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to know this too. It looked like they were all struggling to just do 3 stitches

        [–]CreswickOctober[S] 6 points7 points  (6 children)

Lauren & Steph may be the first team in TARAus eliminated on the course?

        [–]ValuePsychological74 7 points8 points  (0 children)

At least they had a lovely sunset to backdrop it. A nice send off to the ladies, but pity they didn’t get to the cenote.

          Yep. Poor Fliss & Tottie.

          [–]CreswickOctober[S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

This is a good point, I can't remember if Beau came out and gave them a send off

          [–]MichaelAndrews73a 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He didn't. He mentioned the incident when the last two teams checked in and that was it.

          [–]Myloninja13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Happened on the original three seasons, but I do think it's the first one of the Beau Ryan seasons

          [–]FirstGonkEmpire 6 points7 points  (3 children)

Did one of the teams not have to do the whole flower in the embroidery challenge? Or did they each get different designs?

          [–]ValuePsychological74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I rewound it. She had two patterns, one completed which was judged and one with what appeared a couple of stitches I think to maybe show what pattern she used.

          [–]mrfalconcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was so confused by that too!

          [–]CreswickOctober[S] 5 points6 points  (2 children)

Well done to Lauren & Steph, they always had an upbeat attitude despite being one of the teams that had huge disruptions to their race.

          [–]pantaloonjohnny 3 points4 points  (1 child)

They were really nice and chill. Had some great moments with the skateboard and funny ones with the pink flag counting. Had some impressive finishes earlier in the season too.

          [–]CreswickOctober[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ohhh yes skateboarding was their great early moment, I forgot about it til just now

(See this post for more information on Pseudo-Elo ratings.)

At this point, the ratings suggest we have three serious contenders and two teams happy to be here. But anything can happen!

          [–]reticulatedtampon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heath and Toni have been crushing the second half of this race! Angel & Frankie and Pako & Mori are consistently great too, going to be exciting to see who comes out on top down the stretch.

          [–]SagginBartender 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kathy & Chace crushing the competition. 5th best team!!

          [–]Electronic_Bowl_9157 5 points6 points  (3 children)

I hope there is a Fast Forward when the race continue in Western Australia and also have some rules to prevent cheating (like in The Amazing Race Philippines season 2).

          [–]EmotionalWeakness892 0 points1 point  (2 children)

          What happened in TAR Philippines?

          [–]ToQ-1go 4 points5 points  (1 child)

I think in TARPH2, teams in an alliance kept sharing answers to tasks. Halfway through the season, the show specifically started puting in clues that they were forbidden to do that or they will face a penalty.

          [–]EmotionalWeakness892 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh! Interesting. They should've done that on TAR32 for sure. And TARAUS5 as well.

          [–]CreswickOctober[S] 8 points9 points  (2 children)

MA 15+ That may be Beau's best bulge yet

          [–]ValuePsychological74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

          Oh no you didn’t!!!

          [–]seven_seacat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh my god, since he came out of iso he has looooved getting his kit off

          [–]CreswickOctober[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My internet connection isn't great tonight, so far I've had more gambling ads than TAR 😥

          [–]Apple_Slipper 3 points4 points  (7 children)

Didn't know the episode aired earlier than usual.

EDIT: I totally forgot about the Daylight Savings Ended. Guess Sydney and Melbourne are airing it 1 hour earlier.

It's on the Same time 7:30. Probably changed from daylight saving for you

            [–]Apple_Slipper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

            Thank you for clarifying!

            Daylight savings here in VIC

            [–]Apple_Slipper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

            Thanks for clarifying.

            [–]CreswickOctober[S] 6 points7 points  (4 children)

They got me with the "pinned down" roadblock clue, I was convinced it was gonna be wrestling

            [–]Apple_Slipper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where was the Roadblock located at?

            [–]ValuePsychological74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Loved how frustrating it was for the team member not doing the task! And how many of the guys chose it. Obviously thinking the same as you!

            [–]Thurl-Akumpo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah we all got… stitched up 😎

            [–]KellyandGeorgia 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Sorry don’t want to seem like I’m taking over the thread but have seen there’s a bit of confusion regarding the cross stitching task. Each team was given a completed example one and a blank one. I think the editing was weird and chopped so it looked like people had done the full flower (but that was actually just the example template). To complete that flower would’ve taken all day, so you just had have a small portion of the flower done to show you could do the technique (can’t remember exactly how many cross stitches).

            [–]Much_Accountant4381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow that’s so different to what the task description was. Looked like some teams did the entire yellow bit and then poor Georgia was there for ages while I watched other teams go past with just a stitch or two, had no idea what was happening.

Can I ask you about time penalties? Jake and Holly got a 30 minute penalty (so did the dad and daughter team in ep 1). Every team after that has only received a 10-15 minute penalty. Are all tasks given a different penalty rate? Or did they realise 30 mins was too harsh? I’m so confused as to how it works. Thank you!!

            [–]KingoftheHill63 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a maths teacher Kelly should know they don't actually have a 1 in 5 chance to win lol. Do the North Melbourne kangaroos have a 1 in 18 chance of winning the championship next year? 😂

            [–]Apple_Slipper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's the summary of TAR Australia S06E18!

            • Route Info: Raise Your Glass
Teams drive in their 2022 Nissan Versas to Plaza Izamal in Izamal, Mexico. Teams dress up in traditional Yucatán clothing and need to perform a Yucatecan dance with a bottle on their heads. Once teams complete the dance without dropping their bottles, they will receive their next clue.
            • Beau: "That is the biggest flag I've ever seen."
            • Mori: "Google Maps has conditioned us to be spoiled kids."
            • Kelly: "Georgia has miles of surface to lay that bad boy [bottle] on!"
            • Steph: "The last time I spun around with a beer bottle on my head was 15 years ago. Let me do the math... Wait, is that illegal? Then I would be underage..."
            • Route Info: Pain in the Arch
Teams make their way on foot to the courtyard of the Convento de San Antonio de Padua. Teams must first count all of the arches of the convent before directing a horse and carriage to a marked door at an intersection at Calle 31 and Calle 24. Once teams arrive to the intersection, they will receive their next clue.
            • Heath: "Argh! Stay on my head!"
            • Tiffany & Cynthia somehow got a decimal answer (According to Kelly & Georgia, teams had to also solve an algebra equation as part of the task).
            • Roadblock: Embroider? I Barely Know Her!
Teams drive to Calle 5. One racer need to watch a demonstration and then correctly sew a half-completed Yucatecan flower embroidery. Once teams finish sewing the flower embroidery, they will receive their next clue.
            • Other teams were collaborating with Kelly & Georgia for the number of arches.
            • Angel: "Millennials. Another thing (sewing) that we don't do."
            • Heath: "Bit of confidence please, Toni?"
            • Local traditional Mexican music is great! (TAR USA, take notes!)
            • Pako: "I'm a natural!"
            • Pitstop: Teams drive to the town of Ek'Balam and ride via bicycle to Cenote X'Can ché. Teams must then zipride down to the cenote and swim to the Pitstop platform. The last team to arrive WILL be eliminated.
            • LOL at Speedo Beau!
            • La Cucuracha as the background music!
            • Pako & Mori asks some bystanders for directions.
            • Pako: "I mean, we're not bad at it, but we are not good at it. But the godsend is that Mori can speak the language."
            • Heath: "I could kiss him [Beau] if we get there!"
            • Pirates of the Caribbean theme music in the background!

Was it not a requirement to use the bikes to the pit stop? I doubt it would have made a difference given how late the last team was, but I was expecting Kelly and Georgia to be told they had to go back to the start to get the bikes.

            [–]KellyandGeorgia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the additional info we got for the pit stop it didn’t say “you must take the bikes” it just said something along the lines of bikes being available. We realised after about 200 metres of running that we’d missed them but knew it wouldn’t be a penalty so just decided to run the whole way.

            [–]ValuePsychological74 1 point2 points  (1 child)

We think it didn’t matter because they basically penalised themselves, as walking was so much slower than riding. It didn’t give them any advantage.

            [–]sootysweepnsoo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I understand it’s a less efficient way of making it to the pitstop but if it was an essential component of the rules (which I see it was not) the team should definitely be sent back. Just like the teams who didn’t enter through the tunnel in Cartagena.

I made the thread because I have things to say 😅

It can't be stated enough but I absolutely love the cast, the locations and the tasks this season. I think we've started losing the "previously on" segments with the new airing schedule and I think that's a real shame. I hope we can get an unabridged season on paramount plus or something

Even the music from tonight's episode is great, it's unique and phenomenal

              [–]Apple_Slipper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Indeed yes! TAR USA, take notes!

              [–]CreswickOctober[S] 4 points5 points  (1 child)

The covid influence is a huge asterisk for the season but its highs are astronomical

              [–]glider521al 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it weren't for Covid chaos, this season would have been the best of the 10 Network incarnation so far.

              [–]Apple_Slipper 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I agree. Also the fact that some of the locales TAR Australia visited this season could be good route suggestions for TAR USA to utilise for future seasons!

              [–]txvoodoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You realize TAR USA has been to Central and South America many, many times, right?

              [–]ValuePsychological74 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. This season has been epic!! Stunning locations, loved the challenges and lots to like about the cast. Such a huge shame covid caused such havoc to what has been a unique season.

I mean, they're back in Australia. So a lot easier and cheaper to do stuff like the plane rides and whatever the crazy hanging upside down thing is.

                [–]sootysweepnsoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The upside down thing is at Optus Stadium. It’s just over $100 to do.

                [–]redstadt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure WA Tourism has helped with that

NCIS Hawaii sounds like an interesting concept if nothing else, I may have watched it if it was around 15 years ago

can some one upload it please

                It's always uploaded to torrents

                [–]TheZanyCat 7 points8 points  (14 children)

Am I being salty or is Beau just a genuinely unlikeable c*nt, all of his mat-chat has an air of arrogance about it. EVen just him talking to/hugging the greeter then was so... slimy

                [–]FirstGonkEmpire 17 points18 points  (1 child)

I really dislike when he's talking to the greeters who don't speak english, making them look stupid or "shocked" at what he's saying or something when they genuinely don't know what he's saying

                [–]CreswickOctober[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You've put it better than I can but this is my feeling as well

                [–]CreswickOctober[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you've ever watched the survivor/reality TV parody cartoon show Total Drama, Beau is the closest we will have to a real life Chris McLean character

Phil Keoghan does that as well at the Pitstop. Past teams, such as Justin & Diana (TAR USA S27) and Leo & Alana (TAR USA S32) have mentioned about Phil asking very weird and awkward questions to them at the Pitstop.

                  [–]CreswickOctober[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I never knew this but it's an interesting insight

                  [–]cdfe88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beau's brand as a host is being a slightly cringey himbo

                  [–]sootysweepnsoo 2 points3 points  (1 child)

It’s the stupid shit he says like talking about tacos and fajitas.

                  [–]muxbossgirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hahahaha i like him but that was too forced for sure.

                  [–]redstadt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find him pretty slimy any time there's an attractive woman, especially given his history of cheating on his wife. And generally he's just too full of himself. I feel like some of the contestants seem pretty over him at times too.

                  [–]CreswickOctober[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I feel this. I've come to accept it, it probably has broader appeal but it often makes uncomfortable watching

                  Can't stand the guy.

I can't stand him, never have been able to.

                  [–]pantaloonjohnny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of people mentioning how Kelly and Georgia could/should have been penalised for taking up a slower and more tiring way to the Pit Stop, but none bringing up the safety issue that Angel & Frankie didn't decide to wear their helmets riding their bikes? Unless they put them on later, but it's not showing a good example regardless

                  [–]staunengegenaroma 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Looks like Angel is the new Chelsea...

                  She was so annoying!

                  [–]m-shacklez 1 point2 points  (1 child)

It was a long leg, she was probably tired

                  [–]staunengegenaroma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, as tired as in the bell tower... lol.

                  [–]Darcyyeetus -1 points0 points  (10 children)

This season is disappointing and Beau didn’t give a penalty to the teachers who didn’t ride the bike to pitstop this shows how rigged this show is. I’m Australian myself and I’m super disappointed that this season is garbage

                  [–]KellyandGeorgia 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The bikes weren’t compulsory, it was a huge disadvantage for us not using them. We had to run 1km with our bags.

                  [–]pantaloonjohnny 7 points8 points  (7 children)

Is it rigged if the clue didn't say they had to ride the bike? Even if it was, why would it be rigged?

Also, I disagree. The season is great in my opinion. I like the cast (I tend to like tamer, less controversial casts), and the tasks (which seems to have increased in difficulty). So many hilarious moments, too. The best part imo are the locations. Almost everything looks beautiful.

The only things disappointing to me are the COVID stuff (which I think they handled the best they can, got no better alternatives I can think of, but it also brought good moments in Scotty), inconsistent penalties, and some eliminations (which are almost inevitable lol)

                  [–]Apple_Slipper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, COVID messed up how the race was run, as well as the blizzard on Mt. Parnassus in Greece.

                  [–]rymerster 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Agree completely it’s been a great season aside from Covid and the ep in Greece where most of the challenges had to be changed due to snow.

                  [–]Darcyyeetus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Greece was the most unfair one because they had to run 2k back like have they not notice one of the teams is 4 feet tall like bruh

                  [–]scifanforever1980 1 point2 points  (1 child)

The covid stuff annoyed me. A few teams were out for like 6 legs and received little in terms of penalties. It would have been better to use a points system translating to lead time. Those other teams are tired, been working hard running 6 legs. I do think they should havd less eating challenges though. I was uncomfortable watching a vegetarian being upset at eating meat. I felt kelly should have been able to do the challenge. But then done would consider that cheating.

                  [–]Darcyyeetus -2 points-1 points  (1 child)

I disagree about the season being great because a lot of stuff has been unfair like the penalties because it’s suppose to be a 30 minute penalty for not finishing a challenge and yet some teams get 10 instead like wtf. 2nd of all some of the teams were unfairly eliminated such as Holly and Jake, Sam and Stu and not to mention the teams who had Covid skipped 6 legs while others were doing the race and the speed bumps are freaking unfair because they had to do it again instead of a different one.

                  [–]pantaloonjohnny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really fair points. Yes, there's a lot of stuff that are unfair like the penalties - I mentioned that. Was very upset with Jake & Holly's elimination. But we know they were catered to the circumstances - I felt like Stuart & Glennon's and Chelsea & Jamus' penalties may have been longer had it been an elim, and Kelly & Georgia's may have been short for staying the task for 4 hours with a faulty mechanism. There's no way to know, though - I also felt like they may have shortened the penalties after seeing its effect on Jake & Holly.

Kathy & Chace's speed bump (and elimination) was quite unfair, too I admit. Same with some leg designs and isolation rules. But honestly, everybody agreed they'd rather be racing and be eliminated rather than isolating. Not being able to race and have experiences does mitigate some of the unfairness of skipping legs. Of course there's the end prize, but the Race is not all about that and placements. They're real people who want to have life experiences.

But in the end, I tend to weigh the positives much more than the negatives. The locations, the tasks, and the contestants being wholesome and having fun/what the contestants really feel is what matters more to me than strictly what I want/expect. I know there are a lot of people who take the race seriously and that's fine, but I like to loosen up and be glad with what's there. Not everything will be perfect and I can't change what's happened so I don't want to overly complain. I just hope all the flaws are improved with the next season!

                  [–]muxbossgirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

loved Pako's attitude towards the road block! no wonder he crushed it! that's how things should be done in life i swear, instead of being whiney about it. At this point i really cant decide who among pako/ morri, heath/toni or angel/ frankie should win. They are all mad talented for sure! I guess for the sake of it being a competitive race, one of the competitive teams should win. There's way too much collaboration at this point, i cant remember any TARUS season going that way.

                  [–]Davemah1 0 points1 point  (1 child)

What's stopping contestants just turning up to a challenge and just taking a time penalty straight away. Seems to be an advantage sometimes

                  [–]Much_Accountant4381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder the same thing. Seeing as they’re only giving 10 minute penalties these days it’s really much faster to just take a penalty each time.
