ARC Celebrates 12 Years on Blogger: Some Big Changes In The Works

NOTE If you are considering supporting ARC's work financially, we have a Patreon account.

It was 12 years ago that I posted this message to what would become one of Canada's premier monitoring sites of the racist and far-right which, if I'm to be completely honest, is still as much a surprise to me as it may be to many of you:

Yeah, that's right. I actually started on Live Journal.

Hey, we all have embarrassing stories from our past. For example, I as a teenager bought "The Sign" by Ace of Base. I deserve your ridicule for that.

Initially I intended to focus this aesthetically ugly little spot on the Internet exclusively on covering  the Aryan Guard out of Calgary. Goodness knows McKee and company provided a great deal of material with which to work with. I very soon decided that the work needed to be expanded to cover as much of Canada, with the occasional international story with links to this country, as I could. Despite the "Collective" part of the ARC Collective, for much of the past 12 years I had been doing the work alone, however there were some people during those early days who made invaluable contributions. I think of especially an individual using the handle "NomDeGuerre200" whose, "A History of Violence" timeline (which I have continued to add content over the years) remains in my mind the single most important contribution to the blog. There were also others during these years who made very important contributions and I appreciate all of their help.

For me, "Collective" was more symbolic in meaning. I felt anyone who supported ARC, either by contributing articles, providing intel, offering moral support, or even being willing to take a stand for what was right and confronting bigotry and hatred head on were a part of ARC even if only in a spiritual sense as kindred spirits. I still believe this today.

That said, there were, and still are, times when this work becomes very lonely. There have been a lot of sacrifices made personally that I won't go into. The work also changes you. One can't expose one's self to some of the worst of humanity unscathed. There was a time when I thought that I was so mentally strong that I couldn't be touched by it, but that was spectacularly naive of me. Even a boulder made of granite will, in time, be weathered and eroded by the constant barrage of the elements against it. Humans are not granite but flesh, blood, bone, and most importantly mind. If you do this work for a long time, you will be damaged by it. The question then becomes is it worth it? I still believe it is because I know that ARC has been able to make a difference in the lives of a lot of people. I know this because a lot of those people have reached out to me. Some of these people were victims of racially-based violence. Some were former extremists who wanted out and asked for help doing so. And there have been those who, after being exposed to the blog, decided to go down a different path than the one they had been on. Even a single life changed would, for me, be worth all the struggles, mental health issues, and sleepless nights.

Today I am fortunate enough to have a team of wonderful writers and researchers who are now working with me. The folks with Yellow Vests Canada Exposed have for example done the lion's share of the work for example on the Iron March leak as well as, well, the Yellow Vests movement of course. Member "BloodRayne" has provided their amazing intel gathering skills as well and contributing to my cheesy vampire-themed used handle thing. Evan Balgord and the folks with the Canadian Anti-Hate Network have been tireless holding to account some of the more significant players on the far-right in Canada. Most importantly, their support and friendship, and the support and friendship of others not listed but who know who they are, has resulted in the work feeling far less lonely and that alone earns my eternal gratitude.

Thank you, all of you.

Now, as the blog enters the tween years, I figured that we need some new clothes. Yes, I know. The blog is ugly and looks like it is set in the early 2000s at best. Meh! I still like the look! That said, we did decide that ARC needed to update the logo and banner so in the next few days there should be a new image featured on both the blog and the ARC Twitter account designed by people who are actually competent that won't necessarily rebrand the blog but will make it look marginally less like it was designed by Luddites.

The other change may be significantly more substantial.

I'm not going to go into details yet as we're just in the planning stages, but there may be a time when I stop referring to the site as a blog. We have to work out the details however so stay tuned.

I started Anti-Racist Canada when I was in my early 30s. As I write this I'm approaching my mid 40s. If necessary I plan on doing the work into my 50s and beyond.

However....

If the racist dumbasses all decide to reform and become good people, I would much prefer to turn the blog into a craft beer appreciation site. I mean, I'm not going to hold by breath, but hope springs eternal.

Happy birthday ARC. Here's to another 12 years and beyond.

Iron March Leak: User DEAD Active Military Member, University Student in Vancouver

NOTE: If the screen shots in this article are too small to read, please right click and open in a new tab. You can then size the image appropriately. We will also be pulling data and screen shots from three distinct databases which will account for the stylistic differences of the images posted.

Last month, the gift of a massive leak of the now defunct internet forum Iron March, where Atomwaffen Division was formed, provided researchers with a treasure trove of material. This is the third in a series of articles covering the Iron March data leak. Read the first four articles in our series here:
In addition to our series, Unicorn Riot identified MOONLORD as Boris Mihalovic. Mihailovic is an active member of the Canadian Navy:

This is important to note, as Mihajlovic isn't the only Iron March user with a military background.

Meet Tony Mckay, AKA "DEAD."

Mckay wasn't particularly active on Iron March, but his posts included information that was used to confirm the identity of a young man who is studying at Simon Fraser University and who appears to be an active member of the military, as of this year. He also claims to be associated with key members of Atomwaffen Division.

Mckay's profile information on Iron March

Mckay's introduction post (a requirement on Iron March) where he provides his ethnicity and philosophy. Mckay mentions knowing both Odin (Brandon Russell) and Weissewolfe (Devon Arthurs), of Atomwaffen Division in his introductory post, indicating they suggested he join Iron March.

Mckay, using slurs, discusses his opinions on people of Asian descent, and the benefits of fascism

Needless to say, the military seems to have a problem with Nazis.

Stay tuned for more Iron March Leaks.

Iron March Leak: Former Blood & Honour Member, Atomwaffen Division Affiliated, and Canadian Forces Member MOONLORD Identified

We've been spending a great deal of time trying to dig up who MOONLORD is. For the background please take a look at the story we published earlier this month:

The hunt appears to be over now thanks to the good folks at Unicorn Riot:

Meet Boris Mihajlovic:

Here he is accepting a promotion:

If we receive more information it will be posted here.

ARC is still working on identifying other members of the Iron March forums. That information will also be published soon.

We have a few more people we've been able to identify.

In the meantime big shout out to Unicorn Riot for the incredible work!

Kevin J. Johnston: Was the Poodle in the Pound?

It has been quite some time since we've heard from Kevin "Poodle" Johnston which is odd since rarely have we seen someone who liked to hear the sound of his own voice than him. We did however catch a recording in which he claimed nefarious individuals in the GTA had threatened to kill him, that he had fled to the United States as a refugee, and that his family had left him (I'll see if I can't dig that audio up; if I do I will add it here).

Since then, radio silence.

Until....

Ed Jamnisek of the Northern Guard/Yellow Vests/ Canadian Combat Coalition/etc (basically anywhere he can get a t-shirt, a hat, and/or a leather vest because he's hard), posted this today:

Well, isn't THAT something?

Suffice it to say we haven't seen an update from Kevin, but if he does post a video we'll be very interested in hearing from him which isn't something I would believe I would say about Kevin "Poodle" Johnston.

November 2019 Bits and Bites: Defamation Suits, Vanderweide, CNP, and Endangering Lives

Our research into Canadian members of Iron March based on the leaked forum information is ongoing. Suffice it to say we've been finding some especially interesting individuals who will be profiled here on the blog in time. However November has been an especially eventful month so I thought I'd do a quick write-up on some of the smaller bits of far-right news that we haven't discussed (this will not be a comprehensive overview and we plan on an article on the events at York University as well)

Perhaps one of the more significant stories is the defamation suit filed by Richard Warman and Evan Balgord of the Canadian Anti-Hate Network against Barbara Kay, Jonathan Kay, and Faith Goldy:

This isn't the first time that Jonathan Kay has been a subject in a Warman defamation suit. And based on what I've seen over the years prior to and during my time writing on the ARC blog, Mr. Warman doesn't file these kinds of suits unless he knows he has an especially strong case.

The responses from mama and baby Kay have been somewhat muted thus far:

Surprisingly, Faith Goldy has been absolutely silent on this matter so far which given her character might be a bit surprising.

Rather than commenting on being the subject of a defamation suit, Goldy has been promoting her latest project, a series for the white nationalist VDare:

Real life Avengers, eh?

Yeah, when I think Tucker Carlson, Nick Fuentes, and Vincent James Foxx, I definitely think Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor. /sarc

As a bit of background, there's a small group of white nationalists who don't think the current Republican Party (they who put children in cages, btw), is far-right enough and they are attempting to move it even further to the right. Goldy's new series appears to be an effort on their behalf. She's also promoting the characters she's planning on profiling on her Telegram channel and including comments that are becoming more overtly anti-semitic:

For those unfamiliar with these individuals might I draw your attention to the following links?

Nick Fuentes:
So yeah.... talk about the company one keeps.

Goldy did get a bit salty as to why she was focusing her efforts on the United States when challenged:

Goldy certainly has her admirers in Canada though including one Chris Vanderweide whom our members have gotten to know quite well since this past summer when he achieved fame (which has absolutely gone to his head) for using a helmet as a weapon and sucker punching a person counter-protesting anti-LGBTQ fanatics:

So yeah, I sort of trolled him on Twitter. I find that one learns a lot of interesting things when engaged in an online discussion with a person who thinks himself brilliant but who in fact might have the intellectual capacity of a protozoa.

For example, here he suggests that he is no longer living with his surety as was a requirement for his release:

And here he is claiming that the charges against him were dropped:

Well, for someone who likes to accuse people of being liars online, Chris doesn't have an especially firm grasp of the truth himself:
Now if he isn't living with his surety that would mean he is violating the terms of his release, however as he lied about the charges being dropped it calls into question his surety claim. Also, he's not especially consistent in maintaining his lie about charges being dropped:

Chris also has a rather toxic understanding of what it mean to be "a man":

As I mentioned later on this thread, people who are truly strong don't need to brag about their strength or try to convince others they are strong. That simply comes across as desperate, sad, and very weak.

In the meantime, Chris continued to give his lawyer a headache:

I should also briefly mention the other person in this thread appears to have participated in the Toronto Pegida rally that culminated in an assault at the Eaton's Centre. I don't think he's helping Chris' cause much:

Moving on to the Canadian Nationalist Party, it appears party founder, leader, and suspect in violent assault of two women in Regina that resulted in their transport to a hospital Travis Patron has soured on electoral politics:

I mean, it couldn't possibly be because he and the two other CNP candidates finished with less than 1% and last place in the three riddings they were contesting, right?

Given that we learned on the CNP form that Patron had claimed to have purchased property in a rural location in anticipation for a societal break-down, this other bit of information should also be unsurprising:

Interesting. A two of the people posting replies include an individual using the leader of the American Nazi Party George Lincoln Rockwell and Dara Graham known on this blog as "Nazi Mom."

Again, the company one keeps.

Turning now to the inevitability of the far-right eating itself, we see more infighting between Ronny Cameron and his supporters and Alex Van Hamme and his supporters:

Ronny can't stop himself from the airing of grievances:

In the meantime Ron Banerjee has decided to push the narrative that Ronny is an "antifa" plant because of course Banerjee would do that. However Canadian Combat Coalition vice-president Roger Rowen thinks Banerjee is full of it:

Joey Deluca of the Worldwide Coalition Against Islam also jumped into the fray again:

Back on Ronny's profile he continues the beefing:

This comment though was interesting:

Dan Dubois, president of the Canadian Combat Coalition, is certainly takes a very different view of Cameron than does Rog Rowen, the vice-president of the CCC.

Trouble in paradise perhaps?

Finally, and more seriously, we see that our detractors are making lists and not checking them at all:

The speculation concerning the creator of this list didn't remain speculation for long:

Now while we can certainly laugh at how ridiculous these people are, it does become far more serious when they start erroneously identifying people on the list:

But here's the kicker. They are editing the screen shots of the young woman so that she appears to be their target:

And because this has been shared extensively, there are a lot of unhinged people who have it including this guy:

Finally our friends and fellow ARC members Yellow Vests Canada Exposed provides us with yet another example of the dangers of the far-right. I offer this thread without comment:
