I am an ex-racist. I was raised in a very conservative, racist household. I married my ex-wife when we were only 21 and had our daughter and son straight away. 3 years ago my daughter said she is dating a black dude. I was vehemently against it and told her she is not allowed to date out of race. She didn't listen and her mother was on her side. We had lots of arguments and I disowned her. Which caused rift in my marriage and I asked my ex-wife to choose between her and me. She told her that she choose her.

I packed my bag that day and left. My friends stopped talking to me so did my co-workers. I was like fuck it, I am done. I got divorced and moved to another state leaving all behind.

Then I met my current GF. She is Latina and she was my land-lady. We did not interact that much initially except pleasantries but with time we started interacting more. She learned about my cooking habits. Basically I dont know how to cook, never learnt it, my ex used to do it. So when I found myself single I tried to cook some chicken breast and it turned into rubber. So I looked into the internet for what to do and they told me to make a soup of it. Thats what I am doing for past few years. I just take make chicken soup with lots of vegies and put rice in it. There is no way I could fuck it up. So when she learnt about it she invited me to have a real dinner with her. She is an exceptional cook. Thats when I started falling for her and we started dating soon after.

So I have gone through great transformation in the way I think. So a month ago I decided to contact my daughter to tell her that I was sorry and wish her happy life. I wrote that I did not have any say in whether she wants to meet me but if she wants I want to start over. She called me and started crying.

She is 7 months pregnant and the dude left her. She is gonna be a single mother. I consoled her and we started talking. I drove her to where I lived and she met my GF. They liked each other very much. When my ex came to know of it, she lost her shit. Told me I am a hypocrite that I destroyed the marriage.

She is also mad at our daughter for talking to me, she said she sacrificed her marriage to support her. No one can really blame my daughter for how she is feeling. I was technically right about the dude for wrong reasons. Ex is telling me that if I have changed my mind about race thing then I should come back but I love my GF. I dont think I am wrong here
