She has a company that makes and sells shape wear, she licenses her name and image, she does the social media influencer thing, and that probably takes time. She’s successful, I grant her that.

What pisses me off is she’s one of these people already coming from money talking about how she made it, “and you can too if you just work hard, lazybones.”

I sometimes take the bus from Newark to Hackensack NJ. The bus is filled with the working poor. People breaking their backs to make ends meet and barely getting by. I hear them talking about 70+ hours weeks as custodians, dish washers, office cleaners, and food servers.

Working hard isn’t the issue for them. Their issues are things Kim wouldn’t understand: scarcity of affordable child care, less access to affordable higher education and training, neighborhood crime, and housing issues.

The myth that working hard guarantees success in America is a joke. A lot of people are already doing it just to barely get by.

This woman has a very distorted view of what the average person goes through.
