Yeah probably not the right choice of words to say “next gen showcase”. Didn’t mean to say that this is some big leap that really shows the power of this generation, just that it’s on par with how the current gen version of other cross-gen AAA games look.

I see this concern frequently brought up, but I don’t get it.

The Lakers have the rights to bring back everyone of their rotation players except for Dennis, Lonnie, and TBJ.

Lonnie is probably gone for a bigger opportunity, but I think it’s quite plausible we could bring back Dennis with the TPMLE and TBJ with another minimum contract.

Even worst case if Dennis and TBJ leave, that’s really not the biggest deal in the world. Still have the 17th pick and Christie that could potentially become rotation players. And if you can’t get Dennis with the TPMLE, you can still get SOMEONE for that. Especially now that the team has demonstrated they can contend, you can get another Monk/Lonnie type of signing who signs for below their value so they can “prove it” and earn themselves a bigger contract next year.

This thing makes me appreciate the Steam Deck even more … what a useless device what is Sony thinking? Plenty of handheld that you can remote play on already by inspectahonionz in SteamDeck

But it’s not a Wii U. It plays PS5 games lol.

I don’t get why the fact that it’s similar in concept to the Wii U should influence the value proposition of this product.

If the controller feels like playing on a DualSense, and more importantly if it does an excellent job at streaming with low latency (which admittedly is a big if), I would love to play some of my PS5 games in handheld mode.

I only play my Switch and Steam Deck in handheld mode… but I very rarely take them outside of the house. I just like the freedom to take my games around the house, play on the couch/bed while freeing up the TV for others to use, etc

These comments are baffling to me. The visuals looked gorgeous to me, sure it’s annoying that this is limited by cross-gen but the trailer looked to be a next gen showcase. The lighting was amazing

And showcasing older mechanics was the whole point! Those mechanics have been gone from the series for many years.

To me the trailer looked like it finally brought back the mechanics of the original assassin focused gameplay, but it all looked smoother with next gen visuals.

I’ve been fed up with the series but this trailer is actually pulling me back in

As far as I know, neither of those actually applied this year? Pretty sure he’s been in decent shape and although he sucked in the end of the Boston series, I wouldn’t say he “quit”.

He also recently backtracked on the idea of playing with his son , emphasizing that while it was HIS dream to play with his son, that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s his son’s dream.

It’s quite possible Bronny told him he’d rather carve out his own path, and now Lebron is less motivated to keep going.

And although he apparently knew about it a week beforehand, that very morning one of his best friends and fellow 2003 draftee announced his retirement. Maybe that contributed to him thinking about it.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think he actually retires yet. And I do think part of the reason he said this was to control the narrative.

But I also think he’s legitimately at least thinking about it.

The binary ranking system DOES work for purchasing decisions though, and that’s my point.

Is this an excellent game worthy of my time/money relative to all the other options available to me? That’s a yes or no question. And to me a 7/10 game is generally going to fall under “no”

I don’t play games with the intention of writing down every nitpicky criticism I can think about…

But for a $70 game that involves a ~40 hour time investment, yeah I’m not just going to overlook a game’s notable flaws and shortcomings.

There are so many selections of great games out there that I haven’t played yet, so when it comes to choosing how I spend my time/money, the “everything either is amazing or garage” attitude actually makes sense.
