I just removed a ceiling fan, and now have a gaping hole which I need filled. Is this okay to simply cap the ends of the wires, and then drywall patch / paint over? Or do I really need to get an electrician to remove the box entirely? There is a light switch, so live electricity will not always be running through it (in fact the light switch will just be switched in the off position forever)
I cannot get a ceiling cover and just cover it, because I will actually be building a wall that will be intersecting this hole.
