Drilling hole into trex decking and securing to ground Drilling hole into trex decking and securing to ground
outdoor

My deck sits about a foot over the gravel base/ground.

I would ideally like to drill a hole through the trex so the umbrella is supported by the hole and secure in the ground as well.

I understand that inserting it into the deck alone would present a stability issue and also may damage the deck

But if I can insert it through the hole and "anchor" it in the ground, would this be stabile enough?

If so, what should I use to anchor it?
