Why do republicans tend to poorly juxtapose two completely different things...what does a loan have to do with abortion rights? i can say that about anything & make it sound like it relates...your rights, your guns? your loan, your responsibility.

Makes sense. CEOs definitely work 350 times harder than the average worker. They ain't got time to fly around in rockets, sail in mega yachts or sleep with every supermodel. They definitely pay their fair share back to the American government so they can be trusted with all that money.

Pocket cinema 4k vs. Studio 4K plus by Markus_Alexei in blackmagicdesign

[–]teonesofle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeh good questions. Firstly in terms of recording times for the BMPCC 4K, you are really constrained based on codec, framerate & internal SD card or SSD you are recording to; i.e. it will record until the SD card or SSD is filled up. I reference the following if I need to remind myself:

https://cinequipt.com/resources/resources-sidebar/blackmagic-design-pocket-cinema-4k-camera-record-time-chart/

The Studio camera is the same however there is no internal storage & we only record directly to an external SSD. Again, it records until the SSD fills up.

I have not noticed overheating issues on either studio or pocket but I only ever record at most 3 hrs at a time.

In terms of additional features the Studio cameras have over the Pocket: the Studio has a larger screen, tally lights, talkback features, and broadcast quality (NTSC & PAL) i.e. things you expect in a broadcast environment. The Studio Pro has a further set of features such as SDI connections, Ethernet for upscaling to a Blackmagic Studio Converter & two XLR inputs which is great if you want to feed audio in via an XLR mic as the Atem Mini Extreme only has a 3.5mm jack for audio input (removes the requirement of having to setup an audio interface). So you probably just need to see if these extra broadcast features would be utilised in your setup.

Hi I have both. Except instead of the Studio 4K plus I have the pro.

Pocket camera is just easier to move around because it is smaller & lighter to pack compared to the Studio. It's probably your best bet if you are mainly doing podcast recordings & not needing to go live all the time.

Our Studio camera is only ever used for live streaming & when we need someone to man the controls either at the camera or switcher to constantly zoom or focus.

The way I see it, the Studio is basically the bmpcc 4k but with additional features that are really meant for live production. So if you are not utilizing those additional features then the bmpcc 4k is probably the way to go.

Be aware though that the bmpcc is going cheap on Facebook marketplace & other 2nd-hand sellers as the 6K G2 & pro are out, so it might be worth looking there to save $$$.
