  4. Great news! The is set to receive a $96M grant from the DoD to fully replace & expand Mokapu Elementary. I toured the existing school & planned expansion site where I talked with Principal Almanza about the necessity to support a growing student population in the area.

  5. I visited the Lāhainā Harbor to inspect the ongoing improvement project to build a new pier, gangway & admin office. Updating Hawaiʻi’s infrastructure is critical to our economy. This is why we passed the $2.8B IIJA, which will lay the groundwork to meet our infrastructure needs.

  6. Kula Hospital offers critical services to Upcountry Maui’s growing population from emergency to long-term care. I joined Administrator Kerry Pitcher and staff for a tour of the facility to learn more about their needs in serving our rural communities.

  8. I had a chance to check out Maui Kuʻia Estate Chocolate, Lāhainā’s “farm-to-bar” chocolate makers, which sits on the Kuʻia ahupuaʻa. We discussed their commitment to our local community and their promise to give back 100% net profits to Maui non-profits.
